the fastest way is using amiibo cards, the second fastest is time traveling a week or so, then run around your island to search for clouds, if theres no cloud or into a villager you want to keep, time travel 3-4 hours (or an entire day to be sure) and repeat

So you count up the number of things you want to keep (the middlemen have a limit of 160 items (4 full inventories) then make your request in #request-a-middleman🛎️🙋‍♀️ (you will need the trade role from #721542917264638002 first though) following the format given in there. If there's a middleman available to accommodate your request you'll be put into a channel with them to organise it. Either you take your stuff to them, or they come collect from you and store it on their island. Then they'll start a 2 hour countdown (as thats the longest they can hold for). During that 2 hours you delete your save and start over. Run through the tutorial, then once the game syncs to real time, you have to time travel (change the date and time on your switch) to the next day in order for the airport to open so they can come and drop your stuff off for you

Wdym? It's just "ejecting" that player and resetting a bunch of stuff while doing it. Usually you and all your guests are sent to the airport.
That's why is advised to leave properly via airport or having the host kick the visitors

I've had the banner of "someone's flying over" appear, and then disappear without a cutscene triggering on many turnip islands, so I've assumed it happens because someone is trying to fly over, but someone is selling turnips at the same time or something and on the flyer's end Orville stops searching and says there's interference going on, making the banner disappear on our end.
