you need to give him the ingredients for the dishes, same then he gives you the recipes. After that you can do the secret ingredients for more turkey day stuff. I think the only difference is you get the recipes now and can eat the food

When someone asks one of your villagers to move to their town the house usually goes dark/you can’t go inside right? I did a trade earlier today and realize the lil bugger is still home/I can go in
