Both work. With 30 days you just have guaranteed the max chance for a bubble to appear.

The method needs patience since there's only a chance that villagers ask to move out.

Do the special visitors randomly generate when you load the game up for the first time that day, even if you're reloading the same day multiple times (ie, you will always get a special vistior on Jan 25th)? Also, do special visitors consistently spawn on the same day, even if they're not the same one each time? If you time travel to a previous date, is it possible for a special vistor to spawn, despite them not appearing in a previous 'run' of that day?

The trees can only produce one shoot. And then they’re done.
