Yes, a player's island must have its gates open to visit.

Okay so PSA folks that I asked the question earlier about how to get the custom design upgrade with the march patch and it requires resident services to be upgraded. I finally got resident services to be upgraded so it showed up. Unfortunately this fact was not mentioned in any guide or wiki anywhere. So to answer my own question in case another lost and confused newb was wondering it requires resident services upgrade to get the fancy custom design upgrade with the fifty slots and the fan ^^.

in that case, it doesn't really matter if the empty plot gets filled, amiibo can choose whichever villager you want to replace. if it happens to fill, and its the last day to invite your amiibo, you can just wait until the autofill villager is moved in before inviting the amiibo the third time. (although i dont use amiibo so i dont know if they can pick a villager in move in boxes or not, but i'm assuming not)

No, Bunny Day 2020 isn't available anymore, its dates were changed to the 2021 ones
