if u handed over the payment first, and they picked it up, then dropped the items, what may have happened is the game auto saved after u dropped, then u left without saving after picking up the items and got sent back to ur island

Most likely an internet connection error. It would be worth doing an internet test within the settings of your switch to make sure it's all functioning properly.

Should I restart my island?
When restarting, you will lose all of your DIYs and catalog. The start of the game is very tedious and people tend to forget this when resetting.
It is easier to remove everything and flatten your island.
Restart only if you don't like the position of your RS, airport, river ends, northern beach, etc.

It does take a lot of time to get up to friendship level 5, after that if you're using specific methods like the fruit stack trick, your chances of obtaining photos an be from 6-10% a day, so generally not too difficult or straining after that initial friendship build up stage, just takes some resilience :)

If they do have any clothing that isn't their regular (or rainwear) then it can be considered a gifted villager, and if their interior contains furniture that wouldn't be there usually (so gifted furniture). You can check by opening closets in villagers homes if they aren't wearing any specific clothes right now and it may show you clothes they have been gifted

Currently have 10 villagers already, but trying to get new villagers to my island. When new villagers have come to the campsite and say they want to move in, they then say something along the lines of "residential services says there's no room" and then that's it. Usually in the past the campsite villager would ask if someone wanted to move out and then I could force out a villager that way. But over the last few months that hasn't happened. So I bought an amiibo to try and move someone out and move the amiibo character in, but the same thing happened! This is supposed to be a guaranteed way to move out a villager and get a character you want, but it's not working (ive done the 3 day thing) Has this been happening to anyone else? I would appreciate any advice or guidance pls and thnks
