Why doesn't my campsite villager ask to move in

• You invited them but they say "there's no space on this island" this happens because you have less than 10 villagers : you need to put a plot for them to move in (sell land option from Tom Nook)
• Your gates are opened, you need to have the gates closed for them to be able to ask.
• Campsite villagers can play the game and still not move in, be patient and persistent, they will ask to move in eventually.

The first camper will always ask to move in, it is mandatory for progression
Amiibo campers require that you complete 3 crafting quests over 3 visits before they ask to move in

Hi! I have a very specific game mechanic question about move out thought bubbles.
I'm trying to kick out all of my villagers except two and last sunday Dom had a thought bubble and wanted to move out. Since I want to keep Dom I told him to stay and the thought bubble got into cooldown mode (I understand how that works).

Couple of days later I invited a camper to live at my island (because I wanted to get rid of a specific villager) and five days later my though bubble has disappeared. Everyone I talk to today is not mentioning anything about moving out.

My question is: does the camper moving in mechanics mess with the other move in/move out mechanic? How fast does the thought bubble appear after I've entered the game? It's been five days since I told my villager to stay and now the thought bubble is gone.

Has anyone been through the same thing? Any help would be appreciated.
Please note that I don't time travel.

Campers do not affect the "I wanna leave" thought bubble cooldown ; but you're not guaranteed a bubble after 5 days, you only have a chance the game will choose a villager for it (it increases daily, up to 80% chance each day - after 30 days and if you have 10 villagers)

No, turnips will automatically spoil when your island reaches the next Sunday

Therefore you have to sell them before that date. Time travelling backwards by any increment will also spoil them

You need them to be completely gone. So you need a free plot with no house on it

Just ensure that that free plot is not sold either

Yes, only Amiibo campers give you the choice of who to replace, otherwise it's random

Question about TT and advancing forward to get villagers to move out: If I TT backwards like 1-3 months, and then start moving forward 14 days at a time, will that push a villager to move out, even though I originally went backwards 1-3 months?
