The Amiibo scanner in the Paradise Planning office allows players to use their Amiibo cards to call villagers and invite them to a vacation home in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise, much like the Nook Stop in the base game. However, the process for getting an Amiibo villager in the DLC is much easier and doesn’t require the player to complete any tasks to get the villager to stay.

After being promoted to a “Promising Designer” and completing their seventh vacation home, players will return to the office, where Lottie will point out the new scanner on the desk. This Amiibo scanner can be used to call specific villagers, prompting players to place their Amiibo card over the NFC touchpoint of their Switch or Pro Controller. Once the villager answers, they will be delighted by the player’s offer to build them a vacation home and come to the archipelago immediately.

Special characters can also be called once the player completes 20 design projects, which unlocks the ability to invite VIPs to the archipelago. Characters like Isabelle and Tom Nook can now relax at their own island getaway in homes designed by the player, as long as the player has the corresponding Amiibo card. Players can even invite characters from the Sanrio series of Amiibo cards to join in on all the fun the Happy Home Paradise has to offer.

• You obtain the Golden Watering Can DIY once you achieve your first 5-star rating. Also, lilies-of-the-valley can spawn as long as your island keeps its 5-star rating!

• The basic idea is to fill your island with plants and furniture, as Isabelle usually suggests. So if she says to add flowers, do it - or at least, wait for them to be fully bloomed (to get the max points from them) ; Same thing if she hints at adding furniture.

Ok so I’ve just discovered this…. Would this technically mean 30k would be the optimum amount of bury? Because even if you get 10k per bag, you still get your 30k back and don’t run the risk of losing money?

30k is the max you could bury without losing bells, that is correct. As for what is considered the optimal choice, I think it just depends on your end goal. In the long run, 10k is going to be the safest choice if you’re hoping for as much profit as possible — The chances of that extra profit at 30k are very minimal. So you may get lucky and see it at some point, but you’ll likely be looking at a lot of net zero days as well. Just up to you depending on your goals and preferred level of risk!

So it’s basically 30% chance for 90k bells all in one shot vs 100% chance of getting that same amount if you just bury 10k for 3 days

Using bait on the pier would give you a chance at pier fish, but any type of ocean fish can spawn there as well, same as usual. (Bait doesn’t change the spawn rate)

If i turn all of the lights on, as you can see from the image they are all turned on, however not all of them are shining light down onto the ground below, because the game will only let a few lighting sources to appear at the same time. There is also a way to use the camera app for this angle anywhere on your island, if that’s what you need!

You just open the camera app using the standard bird’s-eye mode then tilt the joystick the side you want and it’ll show these angled shots like that

I'm a bit confused about that part of the move out-mechanic, Google don't mention it but I've seen Youtubers literally fleeing from unwanted villagers. Is this just for entertainment value or is it a mechanic Google didn't specify?

ignoring them will not make them more likely to move out. that is a very common misconception, but unfortunately it's not true

You will need to speak with the villager at least once, as they can't ask to move if you never speak to them at all

1. Play the stalk market: buy turnips at a low price and sell them high.
2. Dive and catch sea creatures to sell back to Nook's Cranny.
3. Grow stuff (fruits, flowers, pumpkins, etc) and sell to Nook's Cranny.
4. If you have NSO (Nintendo Switch Online), trade with other players by visiting the trade channels in this server and seeing where to sell your services or goods!

Hello I'm seeking help for my acnh island. I recently started the game and just got blathers tent and was working on getting the nooks cranny. I have gotten all thirty wood for each wood type so I am left with just 30 iron ingot's to get. This is where the problem comes and maybe one of you can help. So I at a time I thought that eating fruit gives you more materials when hitting rocks and so I destroyed all my rocks. It seems though all the rocks that respawned are well not on the ground level. I've searched the entire island and the only rock that is on the ground is the bell rock, I've spotted one rock on the cliffs and the others aren't to be found anywhere. Without a ladder I can't collect the iron and I ran out of nook miles to travel to other islands. What should I do?

Just to confirm: when do you break all the rocks? And are you certain they are on cliffs, or is the issue that you can’t find them atm?
They will only respawn one rock per day, so if it was really recent, it’s possible they just haven’t spawned yet

I smashed them about two days ago and did know at the time the only responded once per day. I have checked the entire ground level for rocks but can't find any apart from a bell rock, I have spotted one rock on the cliffs but for the other rocks I haven't seen them but I am sure there are not on ground level

Got it! If you have NSO, you could trade for iron nuggets or a pre-made ladder, to gain access to your own rocks. #materials-and-tools would be the channel for either of those options

Other than that — you either need to gain more miles to visit mystery islands to hit those rocks, or you can just wait (or time travel) til the next day for the one rock to respawn new materials.

Never restart if you just want to terraform, it takes way less time to actually remove all items on your island and then terraforming it how you want instead of actually having to play the game until you reunlock terraforming only to have to do the first process all over again

you have to scan the amiibo card at the machine to the right at resident services. after inviting them to your campsite, you have to craft something for them. this happens 3 times (you have to scan the amiibo and invite them on three separate days) before you can ask them to move in.

I think it might be a bit too early for you since you only have 3 villagers, I'm not entirely sure if you actually have the function yet, you might have to wait until you get all villagers

Yes, the first camper will always be a smug, he will appear the day after the camping is built.

If you don't have 10 villagers yet you need to place a plot for the camper to be able to move in.
If you already have 10 the camper will replace a random villager, that will immediately be in boxes once you've agreed.

is there any way i could delete a villager from my island? I dumped my save because the game said it was corrupted, and when i poked around a bit, i noticed that my 10th villager (villager index 9) was some undefined species with no name and when i tried to replace it with another villager i would get the error "Clipboard: No text found! Expected internal villager name."

You might have to delete your save file and start a fresh game since I don’t believe there is any sort of way you can resolve that. If the game is not allowing you to kick that undefined villager then I would say delete and start fresh and avoid whatever you did to cause that issue

Though the ones in summer time with the vines and glowing moss don’t have summer bugs and fish, only ones available on your island at that time, which is annoying

I’ve condensed all the info I know here if anyone else was interested. I’ve done months in the Northern hemisphere.

Normal gyroid island, veggie island, glowing moss island, and rain gyroid island all follow the date on your island
Snowflake island is set in February
Cherry blossom island is set in April
Spring bamboo island is set in May
Shooting star island is set in June
Seashell island is set in August
Maple island is set in November
Mushroom island is set in November

However, on every island critter spawns are locked to the time you arrived
E.g. If you arrived at 4pm, only critters that spawn in that month at 4pm would be available, regardless of how long you spend on the island.
Same for the shooting star island, despite it looking like night.

Ah okie, I would keep trying for now then! Make sure you’re looking around the right time of day as well, when most villagers are outside. If you go more then about 15 days forward without seeing any bubbles, I would recommend re-syncing to real time and trying to start the process over at that point. Sometimes a little refresh can help in those situations! Other than that, just be patient, it may take some time as it is mostly up to RNG

Once the plot becomes empty, you have one guaranteed day (the day after the villager is in boxes) where it will stay open. Whether or not you time travel to that day or let it roll over naturally, it will stay open that whole day!

If I time travel do I have to stay in the future or can I go back successfully? What will going back in time do?

You can go back in time after kicking a villager out. I’d recommend fully moving in a replacement before doing so tho, unless you want autofill odds to determine your new villager. Going back won’t affect things as much as going forward would. Your shop items will reset and I think commune stuff would too, and anything left from going forward will remain, but that should be it

• You obtain the Golden Watering Can DIY once you achieve your first 5-star rating. Also, lilies-of-the-valley can spawn as long as your island keeps its 5-star rating!

There are a lot of details! The general idea is that you get more points for the furniture items that are larger and/or more expensive, so I recommend using some of those to help boost your ratings a bit more easily

If you need more time to hunt you can change your console time/date to stay within the date the plot is empty so you can keep hunting! Just don’t go past 5:00am going forwards or backwards ^^

So, when a villager wants to leave your island (either from asking to leave or being kicked out from a campsite), they'll go into a state known as "being in boxes." From there there's two ways a villager can go-- either they're adopted by another player, meaning another player comes to that island and takes them to their island, or they're "voided" where they sort of disappear!

Hello all 👋 I'm trying to help my son out with ACNH, and I have no idea what I'm doing - He left the May Day island yesterday without completing it, so we're trying to get him set up with a second account on his switch so he can go and do it on that character.

We've got the new character on his island, a tent set up, and have done the DIY tutorial with Tom Nook to craft a fishing rod, but there's no dialogue about May Day and no voucher to travel to the island - are there other pre-requisites we need to complete before we can get there?

From what I can recall, you will need to visit a regular mystery island using that initial free NMT that all new players receive.
Once you’ve used the free ticket, when you return home Tom Nook will then tell you about the May Day ticket.
If you haven’t received that free ticket yet, then you’ll need to unlock it by paying off your tent loan

The free ticket is at the airport, so you’ll have to speak to Orville if you’re not sure whether you’ve unlocked it

It sounds like you did the steps right. All you need to do is invite her once a day (does NOT have to be in a row) and make whatever item she asks for on three different days. You should craft a total of three items in a span of three in-game days. After you’ve done that, she’ll say she wants to move in and will ask you who she can talk to and kick them. You currently have 10 animal villagers? I can’t think of any other reason why she doesn’t want to move in, unless you need to invite her one more time and craft for her again

Time traveling does not reverse / rewind progress. You still keep all the progress, items, etc. that you've completed / acquired even if you time travel backwards.

Hi! You can definitely time travel to get the rocks on your island to respawn. They respawn one day at a time, so if you broke all six of them they’ll all be back in six in-game days ^^ you can also go to mystery islands and get more materials from there as well. You have to use a toilet item if you ate fruit/food and want to get rid of the power you receive from eating so you don’t accidentally break any rocks on your island. And as Nookbot says above, time traveling doesn’t reverse/rewind progress in any sort of way - all you’re doing is speeding things up

So I was reading somewhere that a villager's clothing inventory is 24, what happens when you go passed that? Do they get rid of older clothes? Also do custom design clothes count in that pool? Custom design pieces do not transfer over to your island. So if the villager was wearing a custom design from the island they came from, they wont have it when they come to yours. They'll wear whatever custom design that are hung up in your ables. Custom design clothes are not in that pool as they were not physical items that were given to your villager.

Alright thanks guys! Fang actually did keep the custom design from the island he came from though. I did an island reset and had a friend hold him for me. When he moved onto my new island I found him wearing one of the designs from the deleted one and even mentioning it was from that island. I had hung up that design in my friend's shop in the past so it's possible it carried over from her's but yeah I don't have any designs up in Able's and he wears it.

Any of them can sing at random so it’s not really rare. If a villager has the music hobby they may be more likely to sing a lot. And in my experience, if they start singing near the plaza, it’s not uncommon for others to join in

Is lag on an island determined by the clutter of items within a specific area? or is it determined by the clutter of items throughout the entire island? (I can clarify if what I ask is unclear)

It depends on the area. Say someone has a field of hundreds of flowers for example, that area while walking through or around the field will cause that lag. Other areas should be fine and not affected by that cluttered area if they’re not cluttered as well ^^

so if i have an island that's mostly urban but has some non-urban parts that are still decorated but use far less items, would those non-urban parts not work to reduce lag for the greater island then?

also, how does ac:nh load these areas? is it similar to how Minecraft uses chunks?

Yeah that wouldn’t really work. Those non-urban areas with less items would not really help the lag with your island overall since those cluttered urban areas would cause lag while you’re in the middle of walking through them. If you want to try and avoid lag, then you can try removing some items in those more cluttered areas and redecorate. Also I’m not really sure how the game loads those areas, I’ve never looked into it personally. Someone who knows can hopefully help answer that. Also you’re welcome

I've fished over 100 times on clifftop rivers for a golden trout and haven't found a single one yet. Am I doing something wrong? (Northern Hemisphere, I have fished between 4pm-9am)

I also have dived a ton trying to encounter a vampire squid but am also unsuccessful in finding one. Am I doing something wrong?

For the golden trout to start spawning you need to have catched at least 100 fishes. For the vampire squid the requirement is 80 (through diving)
