I’m a little late to the party, but I bought the game a few days back.
I’m struggling a little with the dreaded iron nuggets.. I’ve read that you can get up to eight items from rocks, if you limit your knock-back. However, my rocks keep breaking on the first hit? Am I doing something wrong? 🙈

That is because you ate fruit or other food items: they allow you to have more strength and destroy rocks or dig up full trees
You can see your current strength bar when you stop moving, iirc

Rocks will respawn at a rate of one per day until you're back at 6 total on your island

Also an additional tip, you need to block your character's knockback using items or holes if you want to obtain the max amount of items from rocks

Also make sure that the body of water is considered a river by the game and not a pond

(if there's a waterfall connected to it, or if it's an elongated shape, the game should think it's a river)

You can test that by checking whether the bobber moves when you cast it, and the kind of fish you get

yeah it's possible, but the villagers you currently have on your island will never appear there at random, you'll have to invite them to visit there by gifting them souvenir chocolates from your HHP office

(The reverse isn't true; once you built a vacation home for a villager they can still appear on mystery islands, your campsite etc for you to invite to live on your island)

Neither. Each villager will get their own home. Once both have been built you can speak to Niko about visiting someone, and when you select that plot from the map, he’ll ask which of the two you want to visit

• What is my native fruit? - This is the fruit that will be on your trees when you first start the game. Your native fruit can also be bought from Nooks Cranny.

• What is my "sister fruit"? - This is the fruit that you find on a mystery island called "rare fruit island". This fruit can be sold for more than the native fruit at Nooks Cranny.

• What fruit does my Mom give? - Your mom will mail you a fruit. This can either be a new fruit that you have not obtained yet or a random one.

Flowers genes can't be seen directly... You'll have to track them from the start, or somehow deduce them from further breeding

Having the Flower Breeding Simulator on hand should help, it's then a matter of keeping note of the known genes so you don't lose track of which is which

You can’t have more than 220 shrubs/trees on your island or your rating will be capped at 4 stars. However, if you still need nature points you can use any of these listed instead! Crops also give a whole point like trees, so you could possibly try and plant more of those since those don’t affect your rating like trees do. I hope this helps!

You have to do that three times (on three different days) and they'll accept to move in

If you are already at 10 villagers on your island when an Amiibo camper asks to move in, they'll let you choose who to replace

So you don't necessarily need an open plot for Amiibo campers

Yeah that currently open plot will get filled before then, but you can always place a plot during the day of their third visit if you want to invite them before you reach 10 villagers

A lot of people had that problem. The only solution to that is to start over and choose a layout you really want. You can reroll 4 layouts each reset in the beginning until you are satisfied

Yeah, note that the order of the switch profiles isn't necessarily the order in which players have opened the game, and so even if she was the first profile in the switch's list, if another account opened the game first they are the one who is resident representative

You can check who is representative by checking who is in the top-left corner on the island map's list of inhabitants

He’ll be in boxes the next day from the current date that you’re on if the current date is when you told him to move out, and the day after that he will be gone. You just need to skip two days ahead for the plot to be empty. I would advise waiting to sync back to real time if you want to hunt because if you have visited other players online before, then the plot will autofill if you travel backwards OR forwards in time if you go past those two days. You can sync back to real time once you find a villager you want and they agree to live on your island. I hope this helps

The only thing you can do to stop him is if you have a secondary character. You can sign into the second profile as that character and then go up to Shep and ask him to stay if he’s not in boxes yet. Otherwise there’s nothing else to really do. I hope this helps ^^

so my Meteonook has been 100% accurate so far, but today it said I would have thin clouds at 11am (which I did) but I still have them at 12pm. is this just how thin clouds work or is my Meteonook wrong?

I'd recommend to just restart if you see it takes to long

interesting situation — me and my sibling used to share a switch and while my character under my account was the island rep, their character with their account was an islander as well. when they moved out for college, we logged their account out of the switch as they had gotten their own. this leaves me without a way to access the character. is there any other way i could gain access to the character/possibly evict the islander other than logging back in with their account? or do i just have to wait until their semester ends 😅

The flea spawns are a 0.5-1% chance depending on the month per hour. There are a lot of conditions that make a flea unable to spawn as well, for example, when K.K. Slider is on your island, a flea can not spawn. See this link for all of the datamined info.

Yeah you can play as that second character in single-player mode. There’s also an app on your Nook phone if you want to play as your main character and secondary character at the same time! Any additional characters you create are not the island rep, only the main profile/character is. Secondary characters can pretty much do everything the island rep can do except progress in the story and make certain infrastructural decisions. Secondary players can relocate their own house, complete quests for NPC visitors, raise friendship with villagers, donate to the museum, and so on

It’s also good to have additional characters if you find yourself running out of storage even with all the upgrades since you can fully upgrade that second house as well!

If the main character has unlocked it, all the second character needs to do to get it is to use nook miles to purchase the license, if I remember correctly! so my new switch is arriving in a few days and my plan is to start a new island, but I also want to transfer all of my items and flowers etc from my current island to the new island when the airport opens. I saw a few people posting in the player services about exactly this too but I have soo much stuff (and honestly kinda broke in bells to pay someone back).
My question now is if I open up both islands on both switches, can I visit "myself" and just do the transfer of the items like this ?

It may be an issue with timing, rare fish only give you a very small window to react. Personally I turn up the sound a little bit and close my eyes when fishing, I've found myself reacting to the sound made me a bit quicker and more accurate at discerning between nibbles and actual bites.

Hmm that's weird. I would definitely try out the closed eyes thing if you haven't already and if it's an option for you, just to be absolutely sure it's not a timing issue. I checked around a bit and fish escaping despite the timing being right doesn't seem to be a feature in the game. It might've just been really rare fish that only give you a fraction of a second to react.

The season is a bit hard to tell since there’s no grass in the area, but I see the tree in the back so it’s either spring or summer. The image has been edited, so it’s kinda hard to tell how dark the leaves actually are. It looks to be about 5:00 am due to how the lighting of the sky looks, but again the image has been edited and has a filter so it’s kinda hard to tell. I would guess about 5:00 am and maybe closer to summer. I hope that helps!

I have a question of my own... I just had another player over so they could invite a villager of mine who was in boxes. They could not convince the villager to come, apparently he was saying something about a new island.

This was my first visitor in over a year, no one else could have invited him already. The only other thing I could think of that I could've done wrong is that I've already invited a new villager from the campsite to replace him, but does that really influence the availability of the villager that's moving out?
I was really embarrassed that I advertised the villager being up for grabs, only for things to not work out, so if anyone knows what could've happened I'd be really grateful.

The villager in boxes will mention going off to a new (unnamed) island since they’re moving away, but unless they specifically say what island they’re going to then no one has invited them yet. It sounds like the person who was talking to the villager doesn’t have an open plot for the villager to move into. Have them check to make sure they do, otherwise they will not give the option to move to that players island.

Inviting a campsite villager doesn’t impact that at all either. As long as the villager is in boxes anyone can adopt them if they have an open plot ready for them.

Ofc! Yeah, there’s not much you can do to impact the chances of the villager in boxes being able to move to another island, it’s most likely on their end. Some people who are newer to trading villagers don’t realize you need an empty plot in order to invite a villager to their island. If they did have an empty plot but the villager in boxes is not giving the option, the plot may have autofilled without them knowing. If you receive another offer from someone else, you can always try and see if they can adopt the villager instead ^^

There is a way to tell the difference between a thought bubble and move-out bubble! If you see a villager with a bubble, go inside the nearest building and then exit the building and find them again. If they still have the bubble then it’s a move-out bubble, if not then you’re good to keep time traveling

You'll need to either tt forward or if you're going backward it's best to go back to a few minutes before 5am to trigger the morning announcements again. Once that happens, then the shopping limit is reset as if it is a new day, and any previously ordered items will be delivered.

You can’t swim faster than some sea creatures, so those you need to sneak up on them and try to dive quickly to get them

If you have less than 10, you would need to purchase a new plot in order for the camper to agree to move in

To add on, the last villager to move in also can’t ask to move out. You’ll either have to kick her with a campsite villager, or move another villager in and then kick her ^^

If you mean the island that spawns tarantulas/scorpions exclusively, no, that still exists!

If you mean the method of transforming a mystery island to try and force more tarantulas/scorpions to spawn, that was nerfed a long time ago at this point (I'd have to look into it to check exactly when)

4. If you have NSO (Nintendo Switch Online), trade with other players by visiting the trade channels in this server and seeing where to sell your services or goods!

you must have a bed (that you can sleep in). Once you lay in bed, you want to choose "i want to sleep"
It'll send you to Luna's world where you can set up your own DA or visit someone else's

Ok so heres the gist, i have invited an amiibo 3 times to my island and shes ready to move but i haven’t got a plot yet, however i dont have enough bells yet to buy the plot and so she cant move. So i decided to try and sell nook miles tickets for bells at nooks cranny, however my nooks cranny is being upgraded and wont be ready until tomorrow, can i still invite her a 4th time and will she still want to move?
