When rolling for who appears, the game first picks the species, then a villager from said species, which makes it so that the more villagers a species has, the rarer all those individual villagers are to find on a mystery island, if that makes sense

Generally, any specific cat is technically the rarest villager and any octopus is technically the most common villager

But essentially all have same odds at the same time, as in there's no built in hierarchy

• Light meteor showers: Only a handful of 5-star groups shoot each hour, if said hour has a clear sky. These average between 5-10 per month.

It won't lose the gold flag, and only blooming flowers will breed, but IIRC growth is processed before breeding when a new day occurs so if you water those buds they will be able to breed like normal (they will turn into a blooming flower before the game looks at if they are able to breed)

How to get 3 stars
• Make sure you have at least 8 villagers. 10 villagers is the max. More villagers more points
• Put out lots of different furniture.
• Put out a lot of flowers. Put out way more than you think you need.
• Try to build the shops (upgraded nook’s gives extra points) bridges and inclines where you can, it'll help a lot with development points.
•** LISTEN TO ISABELLE! **If she talks about development or scenery, you need more development points (furniture, diy items, infrastructure, etc.) If she talks about the island's natural environment, you need more nature points (flowers, trees, shrubs, etc.). If she mentions clutter, you have to pick up all the dropped items on the ground.

If you have bell boom ordinance enabled and this item is the hot item of the day, you'll get more bells from selling it than what is used for crafting it it also works with the donation box if you fill it up, but doing that is very tedious since you can only do 1k at a time so this is the more tolerable method https://catalogue.ac/i/d1061

What the island designer app essentially does is that it allows you to create pathing, water or cliffs on almost any tile ^^ there's no limits to how much you can do as long as it fits on the island. If you'd like to change the ground design of a large area, you can just lay down a piece of pathing on every tile in that area if one of the available designs suits your needs

And also, money trees only grow one set of bells. After that they become regular hardwood trees (but you can plant a new one every day)

Hey there! I’m new to the stalk market & just getting started on the game. Is there an etiquette I should follow when visiting other people’s islands? And how much is a good fee to pay?

When trading, most players appreciate greetings, speedy deals, and no wandering off without reason/without the player accompanying you.
I believe most players also would usually not tell you no if you ask to do others things (shopping, visiting the island, talking to villagers...) as long as you take no dropped items and trample no flowers; however when people post high turnip prices, they sometimes have other people queuing, so that might not be the most convenient thing to do when turnip trading. Also, if they receive multiple people at once, the player arrival screen would pause everyone every time someone wants to join, so best to make it quick.

As for the fee, it's a free market, the community is not as active as it once was, and some players have already amassed loads of bells or NMT through grind or treasure islands, so there isn't really any consistent expectation, it's case by case depending on the player, so it's best to ask them.

(though if someone asks you like 50% of the profit you made selling your turnips, that would be clearly an overpriced deal lol)

also a quick safety tip when trading: if someone tries to leave/kick you while they took your fee or item yet did not let you do/take what was agreed, you can shut off your switch to cause a connection error that will take you back to your island, with the belongings you had on you when the last player arrival/departure loading screen happened

And also, when you're unlocking Able Sisters, when you find one day Mabel is visiting, you can time travel a day forwards/backwards and return to the same day to get all three visits without much luck dependancy. Just make sure not to TT outside the current week

There isn't really that much you can do quicker outside of TT'ing to speed up buildings or refresh resources

Oh, and for getting three stars, throwing all the furniture you own just randomly outside is a solid thing to do, it can help quite a bit. You can pick them up once you unlock the features

But if you have one of the two I mentioned then you can almost guarantee at least some profit. They can give you lots and lots of bells if you get to sell at a high price. Up to you in the end though.

Lately I've been diving, with full inventory space I usually get 54k per dive and when I'm a little bored of that, I offer to help with gardens/landscaping in player services. As for villagers in boxes... after a villager decides to move off of an island you can go to their house and instead of furniture there will be a bunch of boxes and they will be sweeping.

If they are on somebody else's island and if you have an empty plot on your island, you can talk to them and invite them to move to your empty plot

I've got myself into a bit of a situation that I'm hoping one of yall call help me navigate. I started a new island and I'm in the phase where you place empty plots of land to get your final villagers.

I've been placing just one plot at a time, filling it, then moving to the next day and repeating. Today I got a camper and she's the last personality type that I'm missing, but wouldn't be my first pick, so I placed a lot and decided to go to mystery islands to look for another snooty while keeping her as a contingency. BUT on one of my islands I came across a Cranky I like, so I invited him. I then placed my final plot and went to another island, but nobody was there.

Will villagers stop showing up if I've already invited someone for that day, even if I have another plot open or did I mess something up somehow?

Yes, you can only invite one villager from mystery islands per day: the only exception are the three ones for which you furnished the homes of, earlier in the story

• assigns it to the first villager in your move-in queue, which get filled by villagers that left other islands you visited previously, if any,

Yes you can use custom designs on the ground; any non-diggable path works. Rocks only spawn on diggable surfaces. The reason mannequins are used is that each one blocks a 3x3 area, and they are easy to remove all at once by editing the design you displayed. But as said custom designs on the ground works alright too if you prefer that for whatever reason ^^ just to clarify, they block only the tile the design occupies

I once invited a villager from someone, then came back to my island, saw the saving circle before the island loads, saw the flyover cutscene but did not wait for it to end and just closed to game immediately (I was late to do rl stuff)
And the next day when I played again, another villager had claimed the plot. So if you also did the same thing of not saving properly after coming back to your island, that would be the reason

Those refer to the same thing: the act of picking up an item that you do not currently have in your catalog, then dropping it back to their owner. You don't keep the item. The point of this is that the item will now have appeared in your Nook Shopping catalog, and you can now order copies of it for yourself to keep

(though remember that you cannot order items that are DIYs or come from special sources like events, special NPCs, etc, even if they are present in your catalogue)

And you are in the right spot too proven by the tunas

10 is the max amount of animal villagers you can have but villagers can still show up in the campsite! You can move the villager in but you'll need to go through a process which will kick one of your current villagers out, I'm pretty sure it takes a couple of days until the next campsite villager comes through but that's all random!

For those plots, you can hunt for villagers at any time up until you’ve finished submitting everything. I think you can still hunt for them after submitting the furniture if you have not signed off or spoken to Tom Nook yet. But after that, the plots can autofill iirc

You should clone instead of breed them; that will guarantee the same colour ^^ and is more space efficient too. Isolate the orange hyacinths (no other hyacinths around them) and water them, then they have a chance to produce an exact copy of themselves with same odds etc. as when breeding

Breeding often produces a flower with a different genotype and can have other colours as options too so it isn't as consistent

If you breed reds and yellows (from seedbags), when the flowers succesfully breed there is a 50/50 chance you'll get a yellow or an orange. And if you breed two of the oranges you get from that breed together, you only have a 37.5% change of getting an orange hyacinth

Therefore you should place them like this, in which case you'll always get an orange ^^

I’m using my second character on my island on Saturdays to attend K.K. concerts so I can progress on getting the passport title you see on the screenshot below. I need to attend to the concert 60 times to unlock it.

Here’s the question: Do I attend the concert multiple times in a single day or do I just time travel every week and attend once every week?

So I have a villager that just will not for the life of me have the thought bubble. She is not my most recent to move in nor is she the most recent to ask to move. I have tried the 15 day method and the skip to a bubble day method, yet for whatever reason she just will not ask to move.

Is there a point in the friendship system that just refuses to allow them to ask until after they've given a photo or is it just bad rng? Any other tips as to how to potentially get her to move?

I'd force her out with a camper but I want a specific villager in her place and want to go island hunting. I also do not want to boot anyone else out first since everyone else already fits my theme.

Apart from being the last to move in, a villager also will never ask to move out if their birthday is 7 days away or fewer, or if their house is currently being moved (including just having the moving kit in your pockets)

Just checked the .t moveout command and the last condition that blocks a villager from asking to move out is if they're the last one that have asked and got told no. (And it only counts if you saved the game ofc)
If it's also not that, then yeah that's just RNG

You can ask Nook to move another villager's house so that this one will not ask, and each of the others' chance to ask therefore increases slightly, including your target villager

That's probably the only way unfortunately; the only other thing (that I can think of at least) would be to have an accent wall that is the other colour and main wall that is the other one, and cover one side of the accent wall with a partition wall but it won't be nearly as seamless

Lol, no worries! Once it starts snowing on your island, you will see snowballs on the ground. Walk up to them and start rolling them around until it seems to be a decent shape. Then find a second ball and start to roll that one until it seems fitting. Roll it over to the first ball and roll it on top of it.

You cannot see it from outside in any way, you have to keep good track of what flower is which to know the genes. You should check the flowers every time you play and every time a new flower has been bred then move it either to a separate area or if it is one you don't need then trash/sell/etc.

Also if you're getting pinks from the purples then at least some of them have wrong genes unfortunately, as the purples in the green mum path aren't supposed to be able to make pinks

Yea you probably have to start over unfortunately, or at least back into a step that you are 100% sure of the genes of the flowers. There probably happened something like that a hybrid bred with the parent flowers and created purples that had other genes. And to rule any possibilities of that out it's best to get rid of all flowers that you are not sure of the genes as if they are kept in then they'll just keep messing things up You've marked the original ones with paths which is good at least so it's easier to back into a step whose parents' genes you might be sure of
