Yes you can but some critters won’t spawn via multiplayer setting (like if you’re on their island or if they’re on your island)

If you'd like to, you can force a fly spawn pretty quickly by dropping those items you mentioned near your house or some other building, and just keep entering and exiting the building until you see a little fly. They tend to be very rare otherwise
And it's def better using those items you mentioned over rotten turnips since ants are much more common than flies, and a fly can't spawn on e.g. a rotten turnip if it already has ants on it! Ants can't spawn on the items you mentioned but flies can

Just to make sure, did you arrive during the scorpion spawning period? On mystery islands the critter spawns are locked to the moment you arrived, they won't change with the clock
Looking at the times during which both kinds of locust spawn, I fear it might be that you arrived too early for scorpions
Note also that they made that method a lot less efficient in an update a long while ago, but you should still be able to use it to get a couple scorpions fairly simply

No worries though, I'll retype it, maybe summarize some things to be a little quicker, but y'all are right that this channel should be primarily for questions and answers! So with all kindness and love might I ask you to mainly chat in the other channels! the discourse about the confusion above was totally okay IMO though, don't worry too much. It's important to make sure everyone's intentions are understood

(I copied it this time before posting no worries)

Some people like to flatten everything all at once, while some do it by flattening a little part, rebuilding it and then moving onto some other part! Those are personal preference stuff, really, but some good general practices when flattening are to move houses to beaches or other not-very-full areas to have them out of the way, and save at least some of your trees to have access to fully grown ones when rebuilding! I personally also made a flower storage area with plenty of all the colours and types I'd use, as I use them a lot everywhere on my island so it was easy to go grab some any time I needed them.
I'd personally start with flattening, but if you don't feel happy with the result, restarting isn't a bad choice either. It's safer to start with flattening though I'd say! :)

But if you ever feel like resetting, I'd recommend using this server's middleman service ( #request-a-middleman🛎️🙋‍♀️ ) to carry over some of your old items (if you have the online subscription)! Not losing your items and learned DIYs is definitely the main benefit of flattening. Hope you can find a way to do it that satisfies you :)

Yup! You'll need to have an empty plot available then you're able to go to the person's island to talk to their villager! I think it takes a few chats before the option pops up to ask them to move in and once that's been completed the villager should be ready to move in on your island!

Noo, I'm pretty sure if you build a home for one of the villagers you want to be roommates (the one whose house you want them to live in), you can talk to them, select "let's talk roommates", and you should be able to pick any villager that already has a vacation home, any villager who is on the beach or scan an amiibo if I remember correctly! Been a while since I last dabbled with the roommate feature, but it's not amiibos only for sure :)

Create a detailed home for one of them, then invite the other one, give them a home with the bare minimum requirements. Then you can go talk to the one in the detailed home about roommates, inviting the other one to live in the detailed home too (the bare minimum home will be deleted when its resident moves away, which is why it's probably better to not put effort into it!)

Does anyone know if being on a Nook Island versus being on your home island actually has any effect on your ability to catch rare fish/sea critters? Like if I'm trying to catch a specific rare fish, would I have a better chance if I tried it on a mystery tour? Or does it not matter?

It only really helps with bugs, not fish. Unless you manage to hit e.g. a very rare big fin island, that only spawns sharks or something. But with fish, especially when using bait, it won't make any difference AFAIK

What do you mean? You already collected the third one. Look at the bottom of the stamps it shows 1 and 2 meaning 1+2 loans paid equals 3rd loan paid. You cannot upgrade for the fourth time without paying the third loan. Look at the top it says 4/5 meaning you have to pay the fourth and fifth loans first to get the third stamp

Yes definitely! It's probably best to check the daily section every time you play and wait for them to appear there, instead of using poki (the other currency). But the option is still there if you were to get super unlucky with the daily selection

Depending on how many vacation homes you’ve worked on, your pay does eventually increase.

You can also earn more poki from unlocking and decorating facilities , revisit a home and do a makeover and or remodel a facility

• Make sure you have at least 8 villagers. 10 villagers is the max. More villager more points
• Put out lots of different furniture.
• Put out a lot of flowers. Put out way more than you think you need.
• Try to build the shops (upgraded nook’s gives extra points) bridges and inclines where you can, it'll help a lot with development points.
•** LISTEN TO ISABELLE! **If she talks about development or scenery, you need more development points (furniture, diy items, infrastructure, etc.) If she talks about the island's natural environment, you need more nature points (flowers, trees, shrubs, etc.). If she mentions clutter, you have to pick up all the dropped items on the ground.

For next time, for these rare beetles specifically: raise your net up far away from the bug by keeping A held. This way you move sneakier. Start inching closer to the beetle, but keep a close eye on it! If it stops moving, it means it's nervous, and you should stop in your place immediatelly too. Wait foe it to calm down and continue moving on the tree, and get a little closer. Repeat until you're close enough to release A and swing your net to catch it ^^

To add on what the other person said, it's good to check your Nook's cranny and Nook Shopping Daily selection daily if you want to get more furniture and grow your catalogue. If you have spare bells for it, I'd advice that you also dbuy items that you kind of like but don't have an use case for already, as you can store it for later and once its been in your inventory, you can re-order it at any time from Nook Shopping. This way your available selection will grow over time! Popping balloons, visiting your villagers to see if they are crafting, and checking your beaches for bottles is also important, as you can get DIY recipes for new furniture that way. Balloons can also straight up have furniture as well. And if it interests you, two non-fruit trees will also have a random furniture piece in them every day that'll fall out when you shake it (it can be tedious to find them if you have a lot of trees though!)

These are a bit old, but I think think the info should be still accurate. You can see the tables here to calculate the amount of points for any gift! For your wrapped fruit question; once the sell price goes to 750 or above, adding more fruit won't increase the points you get. So if you're using non-native fruit, 2 is enough for the maximum of 3-5 points, and with native fruits and coconuts you need 3 fruit for those max points

I know you can invite them to the campsite, is that all that’s necessary to unlock their recipes and items from the shop? I don’t have to invite them to live on my island do I?

Scanning is all you need! There will be no recipes, everything will appear in Nook Shopping's promotion tab (and posters tab). You don't even have to invite them to the campsite one by one, you can just go to Harv's, and scan them all there, it's much faster :)

Hi there is a app call “ACNH. Guide” available for free to download on your phone but you have to fill in the progress your self and you have to fill it in as you go otherwise you will have to fill in big bits at a time. It has daily check list, wish lists, dream villages, catalog, diy, NPC patterns, let’s you put in the turnip prices for each day so you can know what day is most likely going to be the best day to sell turnips based off past price, fossils, fish, insects, art (also shows different between real and fake art), it tells you how when and where you can obtain certain items and how much they cost and sell for . I personally find it really handy as I can see what DIY i have, my goals for the future of my island, my daily checklist which you can also change. It does take a lot of time, but I think it’s worth it. DM if you want to know more about it or need any help

Oh- sorry. In that case, it might be a lot of work, but you can always just write down how much you spent on items or got for the ones you sold. That's the only way I can think of doing it

There's also a milestone in the game for bells you spent on buying stuff, so you could use that to track your progress on that at least, but it doesn't count for bells you got from selling items as far as I'm aware

How many trees do you have? Variety shouldn't make a difference by the way. That sounds like it's referring to you having too few trees on the island, since it isn't the nature point dialogue you usually see. I'm not 100% sure though, since I don't remember seeing that dialogue before and what it actually means sometimes differs surprisingly much from how it's worded in the dialogue

All I know is that the game does track your tree count separately from other nature point sources and it has effects on your island evaluation

Shooting stars spawn at random intervals, and it can take a long time for more to spawn if it's a light shower. As for Celeste, she can be tricky to find, but she's not guaranteed to show up if there's a meteor shower!

But if you just want something you can use for the fish and then remove later, something like a 5x8 cliff block with a 3-wide river running through it length wise with a waterfall on one end should do the trick. You could add another player to your island (by just opening the game with a new Switch account), and with fully upgraded storage on both you'd have 10 000 slots in total. There aren't any items that would let you store items outside of your home storage. The storage sheds share the inventory with your home storage

Just restarted my island and I’m at the point where I put the 3 plots down and have to fill the boxes with items to furnish for the houses. Can I get villagers from other’s islands to move in even though I haven’t finished putting the items in the boxes? I forgot hahah

You can't get any from other players' islands. But you can (and should) get them from Nook Miles Ticket islands! If you put all the items in first, the plots will autofill by themselves soon!

Also, if you are looking for some specific villagers and have got some spare nook miles, it might be good to strategize now if you are looking for a lazy, a normal and/or a peppy. At this point all the spawns are locked to those three, and when you get a villager, their personality gets locked out of the pool too. E.g. if you wanted some specific normal villager, you could first get a lazy and a peppy, and then hunt for the normal one with much higher odds as only normals would appear

Although they'd ofc have the starter interior, so if you don't have HHP to reset their house with, that might be something to think about

Can someone help me figure out why I can't seem to get the rarer beetles to spawn on my southern hem? I have a straight line of 36 palm trees. It's January (again, Southern hem). 6:30pm. All I'm finding are miyama stags, horned dynastids, and drone beetles. NOTHING else will spawn.

Edit: I should also add that I am attempting to hunt for them on my alternate island. My main island is my northern hemisphere. But as far as I know, the rare beetles still spawn in multiplayer, because I've caught a scarab on a friends island before. So why could they not be spawning??

I also want to add that this island is BARREN. There are no flowers, no trees other than palm, no tree stumps. I literally tried to eliminate as many other bug habitats as possible

You must just be having bad luck; most of the beetles are very rare; the ones you listed have significantly higher spawnrates than the others (40, 35 and 35 compared to the 2s and 1s of the other ones). It's unfortunate, but they can take a lot of time to get. Scaring away the ones you don't need and just keeping on checking is probably the best you can do. I think a Nook Miles island might be more efficient if you set it up correctly, but your setup does sound quite good already ^^

I've personally gotten most of them with a regular, unoptimized island, so it's nowhere near impossible on your island (it took a lot of just running around beaches though ^^;)

Just digging is the fastest way unfortunately. But you can make the process a little faster by bringing along one of these items and trashing the unnecessary flowers whenever your inventory gets full, that'll save you from a lot of running to the shop and back ^^

Complaining to Isabelle about a villager won't actually make them leave, the option is there just for resetting a villager's wardrobe or catchphrase! And you have to wait for a thought bubble yes, or have a campsite villager replace someone

You're fine, common misconception ^^

If you don't want to time travel, just ignore the thought bubble until it hits your target, as in, don't talk to the villager with the thought bubble. This way it has a chance of moving to someone else overnight

Make sure to read at least the introduction portion of the image though, it explains some reasons why specific villagers can't get thought bubbles that are good to keep in mind :)

Yes no worries! The thought bubbles can and will eventually re-appear on the same villagers

Just note that if the one you want to evict is the one to whom you last said "No, don't move out!" when they had a thought bubble, you should say that to someone else first, otherwise your target can't get the bubble!

For the most part it's just about luck on who the bubble decides to land on

Villagers can start to ask to leave after you have 6 animal villagers (the 6th one will be from the campsite)
While villagers asking to leave is random, there are ways (with time travelling) to speed up/farm the process

Yeah only 2 snowballs spawn a day. If you haven’t made the snowboy yet you can smash them into buildings to get them to reset but once the snowboy is built that’s it until the next 5 am reset

Trading just means visiting someone's island, and exchanging items with them by dropping them on the ground and picking them up! There isn't any more of a built-in mechanic than that

You'll get a head start thanks to the island already being developed; you'll still have to get the 5k miles for your first house loan, learn to craft and customize etc, but as all the other quests are already done on the island they won't have to be re-done ^^

More passive mail trades are also a thing (attaching the item to a postcard and mailing it over), but those are done usually only between friends/people you play with more often, as you can't just pick any player to send mail to, you have to have visited each others islands for the options to be there

Does anyone know what the best way is to decide on an appropriate price for something when trading? nookazon sometimes goes for insane amounts which feels unfair, but at the same time it feels like lowballing if you go for the price the item cost/sells for in game.
