If you're making a tarantula island I believe the probability of it working was nerfed/decreased but I could be wrong - double check that nothing is on the island (afaik rocks and any form of trees hurt the chances)

Unless you invite a villager to fill your plot, you can’t stop it from happening — Anytime you visit a player who has voided villagers, they can go into your move-in queue (MIQ). You can have up to 4 villagers in your MIQ, and if so, there’s a 100% chance the plot will autofill (with a villager from your MIQ) after the first day it’s empty

When you arrived on the island, was it already a time tarantulas can spawn at? Because critter spawns on an NMT island are locked to the ones that were available at your time of arrival, no matter how long you stay on the island.
If they were already available when you arrived, then it's just bad luck yeah, but if not, then that critter spawn restriction is the reason

• What if I have an open plot?
Amiibos still need to be invited 3 separate times, even if you have an empty plot.

• Can I choose who the Amiibo villager kicks out?
Yes, just make sure you've spoken to that villager at least once and their house isn't currently being relocated.

Any furniture or clothing item would count as gifted, since they can “store” gifts even if you may not see them on display. They will not store gifts such as fruits or fossils, so these are typically your best bet if you’re wanting to give gifts without the villager being considered gifted!

After you build your first bridge, Tom Nook will give you the recipe for a ladder

Do tree branches that I have shaken off trees count as weeds or something? Tom nook keeps telling me to weed the island, add flowers, and add decoration. There are no weeds and he still just keeps telling me to do that. I also have like 30 flowers that I planted in addition to all the ones in the back side of the island that are naturally spawning

I wouldn't worry about what Tom Nook says about how pretty the island looks. Now that the campsite is done, tomorrow you will get your campsite villager that is unfortunately mandatory to take. You'll invite them and then once you do that you can start selling plots and getting the rest of your 10 villagers.

I always recommend double checking that the empty plot does say SOLD when you return to your island, and make sure it says sold to the villager you've invited. If so, it is safe to return to current time ^^

As for fishing tips, all I could really say is that closing my eyes and listening for the loud splash helps, but there's really no 100% way to get everything right

If she's in your campsite and you have less than 10 villagers you just need to build a new plot. If you have 10 villagers, she will ask someone (at random) to kick out

If she is not an Amiibo you just spam talk to her today as tomorrow she will be gone. Eventually she will ask to move in (sometimes by playing a game first - but if you lose you can always try again you just got to talk to her a bunch)

hi! I'm really not sure if this is the right place to put this but I recently purchased a (animal crossing!) nintendo switch. I want to move my island from an OLED (source) to this new switch (target) because I've got some dreamies and ect. However, the problem I'm running into is I have no idea if after I've transferred the island to the new switch, can I still use animal crossing on the source switch (OLED)? Because I really want to give it to my sister so she can start her own (new) island and I can still have mine on my new switch. Usually it maxes out at 10k regardless of whether you plant more or not. But there’s some algorithm out there that could increase it- I’m a little busy irl rn but can dig it up later if you’d like

If I read correctly, once things are correctly transferred over to the target, you (or your sister in this case) are free to start a new island on the source console from the transfer

Once the plot is empty you can then start looking for villagers! As for the one you want the islands are all by random chance so it'll be luck or you can always adopt the villager from someone who has them in boxes!

There is no fast way.. the only way if to dig them all up individually, and if you want to hire other players' help to dig them up you'll need to add them as best friends so that they can use shovels, so make sure they can be trusted

(I advise you set up garbage cans near the areas you need to clear, so that you don't have to go to Nook's every time your inventory is full)
