^^ That for the first question, and the only way to get specific villagers to your island is via Amiibo cards. Everything else is up to the random generator of the game

I've always found that trying for villagers is like shopping at a flea market. Because there's no science to it all, it's best to go in with a general idea of what types of villagers you want, instead of trying to get SPECIFIC ones. Otherwise you'll pass up some pretty nifty Villagers in the search for the "perfect" ones that aren't really all that different as far as the game mechanics are concerned

Amiibo Cards are specific for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Walmart I believe sells them in the states and you can probably buy from Amazon as well. and they look like this

And if it's a non-NPC (like not Tom Nook, etc) you can use the ABD in the Resident Services center to "call" that villager to your campsite. There are still a few steps to go after THAT... but this story DOES end in a guarantee that this villager will move in

In the chat app that you get the first time someone has visited you (and youre switch friends with them) they show up as Friends. You can then find them in the app and invite them to be Best friends, which they can agree on. And now youre best friends

• Too many (usually animated) items, especially whilst in one area (commonly critters, flowers, or gyroids)
• Too many waterfalls

If you're experiencing island lag, try changing up your layout! Most commonly, that is the issue.
Unfortunately, these issues cannot be prevented with existing dream islands unless the creator optimises their island.

Animated objects, especially ones that move in the wind, and custom designs as well tend to make the framerate drop significantly when used in large amounts

Playing in handheld rather than docked also makes it more noticeable

It might be because autumn is overall windier, so the game has to generate more animations for items that move in the wind than it used to during summer...

Sometimes switches can also just slow down, mine started strong with acnh and now sometimes lags. It can depend on hardware too, though if yours is new that renders this point moot

I heard to help lag you can shut the switch down and restart it, give it a "nap" as most tech needs nowadays. Not sleep mode, but a full shut off/keep off for a few minutes/boot back up

Theres not really a set list as each island when you boot the game for the first time is randomized to an extent, it's really just a game of trial and error/starting the game 100 times until you find the one that's just right

Time traveling does not reverse / rewind progress. You still keep all the progress, items, etc. that you've completed / acquired even if you time travel backwards.

Your first two villagers and the three that move in after that I always consider temporary because the interiors of their homes never upgrade to their true design and remain very basic. I wouldn’t worry about resetting unless you’re looking for a specific island layout. After you get through the “tutorial” steps of the game and have at least 6 villagers on your island, villagers may request to move off your island so if you really don’t like your starting villagers you can let them move on.

Yes, the first camper will always be a smug, he will appear the day after the camping is built.
• Do I need an empty plot for campers after the first camper?
If you don't have 10 villagers yet you need to place a plot for the camper to be able to move in.
If you already have 10 the camper will replace a random villager, that will immediately be in boxes once you've agreed.

You get a new room in your house and a larger home storage. Paying off the basement loan doesn't add a new room but unlocks the access to storage upgrades that will majorly increase your storage but don't add any rooms

2. if the villager is shown in the title screen just chillin can they still ask to move or should i not bother checking?

1. Yes they can still ask, but not immediately at that time frame, like it will be throughout the day or night so it’s better to just close the game and tt to next day until the move out bubble lands on your target when you log in.
2. Yes it’s possible as long as they are not your most recent one

I'm not sure if that's the case for everybody obviously, but I think you might need to TT forwards for it to work! You can always go backwards a day, and then forwards if you need to

Yes, you erase your data completely and start brand new

I could be wrong, but this sounds like a NAT type incompatibility to me. Sometimes I’ve had trouble playing online with folks if they have a strict NAT type.

I don't think so. I have never tried it myself so I don't have experience, but I've read that if you want to change your NAT type, you'd have to do something called port forwarding but again I've not really looked into it myself, but there's for sure stuff about it online. It's a bit more complicated from what I know though sadly

The new day starts at 5 am, so if you changed the time to 3 pm without changing the day it would have started a new day and the plot auto filled
