i found lighting the scene normally to be much better this time around but i want to be able to pick up my axolotl (stacy) in game\
i was a struggle when i did a similar project a while back
You can view the baked light on your probes.
Not sure if this setting was there in 2022.4 where it is now.
in 2023 its here
in 2022 it might be in the bake settings

Deselect them and you should see their light info

i though bake is for static objects
it is.
Maybe you set it to static? ^^
Otherwise you wouldnt see his shadow where it stands before
there are light probes inside geometry, which will fuck up your results, because they are just black
move them out of the shelf or delete them ^^

the lighting feels too... sharp/ dark tho, but think thats the probes i'll fix those
here is a possible light probe setup
trying that rn as we speak
start placing them on the ground
then duplicate and maybe lift them up by 1 meter
lighht probes should be placed were light changes from light to shadow, so you axolotl can change its light, when it moves into the dark.

i had issues before hand cause i made her static and she looked this
that was a fricking nightmare to figure out
then i learned i actually want to be able to pick her up

i guess other minor issues i have is when the lighting does this-
if you dont have anything under the ceiling, you could delete some probes up there ^^
there aren't really any probes up there-
Not sure what i see there with the light.
Is is leaking through the edge?
try delete the pitch black probes, because they will make your dynamic objects look weirdly dark if they are close to them

i remember reading something about that i just dont know how to fix it
can you show this from a different angle? Not sure where this light comes from

maybe adjusting the near plane of your light helps
