Hm, right now i have no clue.
Need to dig deeper. Can you show me the lightmap itself?

red wave
#

ok

#

there it is. That weird painted look

nimble birch
#

Okay.
Whats the reason you use only this one light sorce on the side?

#

How do you want your scene to look like?

red wave
#

this is my scene on blender. I tried lighting it there first

nimble birch
#

Okay. In Blender you used several different Light sources. Why didnt you do this in Unity? 🙂

red wave
#

I used only one light source there because I was getting the same result when I was using multiple. all of which were emissive materials. Using one area light would be way easier to bake and rebake instead of waiting long for full bake only to get same result

i would recomment starting with some small tests, if you are not firm using unity lighting

#

Point lights are not really a good way to light up rooms

red wave
#

Spot?

nimble birch
#

You could start with a basic environment light.
So you have the base brightness for your rooms

#

(colors and shadow depending on YOUR needs)

#

This will help to light up the complete scene a little.

red wave
#

it's indoors though would it still work?

nimble birch
#

Environment light is applied on everything in the scene

red wave
#

oh

nimble birch
#

then i would continue and add some big area lights, to give the rooms a personal touch

#

and then more detailed lights (also area lights)

#

and for sure emission on your (texture/mesh) lights to make them look bright

red wave
#

I'll do that. Can I leave this thread on so I can get back to u on results?

nimble birch
#

sure

#

btw: its always easier to start and learn lighting in a small room, to test results

red wave
#

ok I should design one or probably even just make em out of cubes

nimble birch
#

And you should use GPU Lightmapper (not CPU) to speed up the process (if you have a potent GPU)

nimble birch
red wave
#

I have a strong gpu

nimble birch
#

so go for it and use it ^^

red wave
#

I'll do that

#

tnks a lot man
