So I have this very bizarre glitch that happens to me whenever I save my scripts. None of them even touch UI elements. THe screenshot is my inspector. Error codes:

you do realize there are dozens of actual scientific papers and other trusted material before "AI" or "trusted fiver" was around
getting one single person to help is either going to very expensive, as you're going to be paying for their time, expertise, experience, and knowledge, or not quite trustworthy if it isn't someone well-known to be an authority on the subject
the internet is full of peer-reviewed stuff, scientific papers, forums, etc
The thing is with that, true knowledge is not specific things. They are bundled together across different fields, to where someone that has context of a pre-existing system could understand how to apply things correctly. That kind of knowledge takes YEARS and YEARS to acquire and sometimes its what required to build something

The problem is its a semi-free lance longterm project not a personal hobby for fun
Its either it works or doesnt and I would have to be very experienced to know im not making scalability screw ups that ill meet down the line
for architecture/design stuff, one thing that ime always helps would be getting all the info out of your head and onto paper or a whiteboard or a document or something like that
listing out requirements and constraints, drawing relationship diagrams, that kind of thing - doesn't need to be formal syntax or anything, just needs to be in front of you rather than purely in your head

iirc .gitattributes specifies what files to send to lfs based on file extension, you can modify that if you want

lfs is large file storage, a system to store files outside of a git repo while still tracking them in the repo
when they're outside the repo git won't have to do long diffs on large files when they change
just on its own, in a vacuum? no, it's not particularly good nor bad
in your case if you aren't using any large .pngs, or large images in general, you could move them out of lfs if you want, probably.
i don't have personal experience with lfs to say what subtle benefits or drawbacks that might bring, but it certainly would be fine

Hi it's me again. idk why, I can't put the textures properly, for the character. It supposed to be a cat human with mushrooms and blue coat. As you can see, the character appears all yellow. I saw that I could use a single texture material, but even that doesn't help

each element applys on the wrong and right (so randmly) object of the caracter. For exemple "element 1" will select both the coat and the nose, two very differents objects.

i think its less they dissappear and more the fact you are removing their materials

if the contents of that texture in the image of the UV is the entirety of your character, then yes, barring a need to change it in game, such as character customization.

In the modding community, many people have taken old maps and simply reuploaded them as mods (since in newer versions they became inaccessible) and I am planning to do something similar just with daytime cycles of maps, like make mods for maps for both night time and day time

Apparently a permissions thing. Either way, you can just open your project folder and drag the files in directly.

guys i used codex to code out a tennis game. i tried to change the main loading screen.
when i press play, the game works normally. however, if i press build 3d prototype scene, the game reverts back to the original version that codex produced.( the one without the changed main screen).
what can i do to prevent this from happening? ANy advice is greatly appreciated thanks!
when i changed the main loading screen, i added some objects to the scene hierarchy and some scripts that made the yellow screen disappear then show the game. everything else was coded by codex

what idea
when updating my scripts, sometimes the editor play button cannot be clicked. not even the hotkey works. but if I go to menu Edit > Play Mode > Play, it works. this problem happens a lot, and i have found a way to fix the unclickable play button by rapidly pressing Ctrl and Escape (and maybe left clicking) in random sequence.
I personally click the scene object hierarchy or project folder after updating scripts, and everything works. It's possible this is due to switching tabs.

What do I do if I'm stuck at "Compiling Scripts (busy for 2:33)" ? I pressed cancel, and it's stuck at "Cancelling"
It normally compiles at 2 seconds.
I went to Task Manager and ended the task for Unity. I restarted Unity, and it's stuck at the Unity Engine splash loading picture, at "Compiling Scripts: Running Backend". This all started when I added void OnDisable() { Debug.Log("test"); } to one of my monobehavior scripts.
ok, I ended Unity task, and closed Unity Hub. Deleted Library/ScriptAssemblies and Library/ArtifactDB, and I noticed multiple .NET Host tasks and .NET, and I ended those. I commented out the OnDisable code. Relaunched Unity, and it's working now. Uncommented the code, and it's working.

Make an empty and put this script on it. Create an empty holder under, drag all objects under holder, assign holder to disable, and assign player and distances.

whats the command for the installing issues again?
- Make sure you have enough space including on
C:drive. - Check that it's not being blocked by antivirus/security programs.
- Look through the logs for a real reason why the setup fails they are pinned [here](#💻┃unity-talk message).
If you still have issues, perform a clean install in another location:
- Install the Hub and Unity in a non-system drive or a clean new folder in the root of
C:drive. - Failing that use the recovery Refresh option or reinstall OS entirely then repeat the previous step.

Wonder if it might have been a storage space thing? Like, you didn't have enough room on your C drive before, but when you went to check today, some cache cleared or something and it was able to fit it all?
If you're close to full on your C drive, it might be good to clear some off just in case. Unity installs things to your OS drive before extracting it elsewhere, even if you set it to install to a different drive

no its just that i got my character, got my SKS, i am gonna animate the gun and sks but i got a bone constraint with a bone of the sks attatched. but if i want to animate a new gun, i need a new constraint and then for every animation i gotta set influence of t he first constraint to 0 and its gonna be like that for every new gun

Yeah godot is significantly more lightweight compared to Unity... if your PC is on the weaker side it will simply be the better option based on that alone

Every time I create a unity project I get a “Virus detection” message
And it breaks the unity project
The older projects work completely fine
But I can no longer create new projects because of this issue

I would remove it if it lets you and stick with the Windows one. If that isnt detecting it, highly unlikely a third party thing would catch it better

it was a temp folder, so it is gone now. you'd have to catch it in the act. at least that is what i assume is happening

yes, they are Temp files. they will come and go. do what you did previously to trigger it, then go directly to the folder, before closing Unity, and see if you can Copy it to a new location. it Might be that sophos auto-quarantined it. i am not sure

Yes. Because your antivirus quarantined them. Disable the antivirus and recreate the project fron scratch

and it feels like im very much cheating and poor code if I cant make slopes generally work with my movement handler but its been so terrible

Most games don't rely on realism as long as it's fun. You don't have to make it make sense.
sure but I want my base movement to be generally consistent, and kind of irrelevelent to slopes but im just flying up non flat walls
ive managed to make a sort of dynamic drag system but slopes really mess with that since it changes my speed around
its pretty game breaking so I wanna make sure its just out of the way and done before I move onto stuff like actual wall running and whatever else
its one of those things I feel if I just ignore slopes itll bite me in the ass later
but I guess I could sweep it under the rug for now
Making a character controller has always been an absurd amount of work
And one that kind of needs to be nailed down, before you start level designing

Or I guess if I could offer advice, when making a CC, you need to calculate the velocity each frame based on all the things that are trying to modify it. Never give one single thing the ability to define the velocity of the character, to avoid the issues of things changing the speed around.
There can be circumstances that override the velocity, but that is something that gets calculated into the final velocity.
Yeah ive kept it relatively clean, im mixing snappy precise movement and momentum based movement with customisable drag

because slopes are slopes
I don't know what that means
high drag/low drag depending on speed
But if you actually explain to yourself what the ideal solution is for slopes, you can work your way to a solution. Something vague like "it doesn't feel good" or "they're slopes" is too vague.
to be fair if im a person in one of these fps games and i see a flight of stairs my first thought wouldn't be to slide down them so such features just remove from "realism"
