Not necessarily, as you cannot get cards for celestial bodies that you have not unlocked. The giant stars would definitely help with the rare and legendary cards though.

The epic cards are OP, so as soon you get them up to rank 3 or 4, Universe Rank 17 is quite easy in a day. And you can buy your first giant star at Universe Rank 4 (or was it 6?)

I was at the Twitch event this morning and the Devs were wondering how I got to Lvl 17 so quick. The game is more balanced now so this was my longest run, but to get to level 17 in 4 days:

• Check in often
• Always have 4x earnings and Astronomy mission time
• Always watch the ad for 2x earnings when I return
• Only spend DM on cards for the highest earner, after automating everything. (Mars is my first planet to have any card over lvl 3, the next one is Jupiter)
• Always have astronomy missions going - generally Dark Matter 1, and the Stars when they come available
• Save up stars and get Scorpio Constellation (2x Celestial Body speed) or Aries (3x star speed), then Aquarius (Oort Cloud), and Sagittarius (Dwarf Planet).
• Buy a Giant Star when progress starts to slow down (maybe around level 12?) This gets enough Epic cards that the speeds overall go up considerably
• Watch a lot of ads for Dwarf Stars and hope to get lucky with Epic Cards
• Complete some of the later Objectives in the lineup as possible (my morning check in can sometimes achieve the highest Save objective)
• Never upgrade cards received at the end of a universe run, or during upgrade, just in case upgrading is an objective in the next round (So, if I get a new planet as one of the last rewards, I might automate it, but nothing else until the next round)

one version of the Beta gave a lot of stars, so I unlocked all but two or three constellations

Because it is less stars, yes, it's an easy one to get, but (im pretty sure) there are no moons on the transneutonion objects page, which is where the money is needed in late game. If there are more stars available to unlock constellations, it would be worth it. This set that just ended was pretty stingy though. Maybe that one will make the cut next round.
Star is helpful both in early game, and late game as Heliosphere and Alpha Centauri are both classified as Stars

Moniker on the solar system screen and move at an irregular pattern before they disappear. You sometimes have to zoom in and out to find them.

These things take time. Phase 1 is just the start. This is a long-term project that started in June for us testers and likely January for the team. It will take another 2-3 years (at least) to have all phases out with all adjustments and content made. This is not an easy thing that the team is doing, although it is fun and challenging.
