That is correct for now. But once the beta is over then basically the beta becomes the new main game and then your progress carries over to the main game.

But if you load a beta save on the main game now, then your game is corrupted. Guaranteed.

I was asking because I ended up switching the version to alpha and then back to beta. I still had all of my game progress, but it reset the gifts like the beta supporter badge and the golden earth texture, but I lost the Neutrino Legacy pack with the badge. /:

Load a savegame before switching from beta to alpha then. Alpha is over and loading saves from the current beta into the alpha may cause corruption. Not only corruption that is directly visible but also corruption that may show up later and halt your game. This because the alpha had things that the beta does not understand.

AFAIK they are different sets of events (but currently running the same event).

I noticed in alpha it was easier to rank higher in events. And also the div number was higher than expected (given presumably fewer alpha players than normal).

What I hypothesised is that:
A) in 'normal' events there are placeholder player markers (no-one ever seems to start an event in the top 700, or whizz up the ranks).
B) In alpha these placeholders were there.
C) in alpha there were fewer than 1000 real players in each division.

I don't know how much that reads across to beta.

@topaz thorn Since alpha players had the 60x speed boost for a while, it would be just a bit unfair to place them in groups with non-alphas. Plus the exploration icon had specific A and B labels, which all seems to point to separate groups.

Your save is dead. This happens when you go to beta (which changes your save) and then load that save in the main game.

You will need to load a good save. If you want to play the main game it has to be from before switching to the beta. If you want to play beta load a save from before the corruption.

I went back and reread the beta testing update on steam and it seems like we're supposed to since it warns not to switch back from the beta until the reality reboot update is live

The Alpha test ended a few weeks ago. You should not transfer that progress to the main version because you will corrupt your game data. (That version was not intended for transferring data between test programs; it was only for testing/experimenting with planned changes).

If you have the main version on any device, use the progress you have there to update the video game version.

Right now, the beta version is the same as the main version. It may have very, very minor changes that we as players are unaware of.

(Not just blocks) Also i was kind of hoping to get a level set that would put everone on a the same playing field after the beta test. They give a 1.1x boost to simulation speed like every single other augmentation
