Because that is the purpose of this option. You clear all progress in the main simulation of the game (Including ALL semblance upgrades) and start all over again.
As reward you get an one time doubling in earnings.
It will not be worth it for the great majority of players. But it is a nice option for when you have everything and want to replay the main game or when you want to grind everything to the max.

I think the reason you can't move save files to production is because it is so different to beta.

When production gets the Reality Reboot, they'll be similar again. Presumably close enough to transfer if you decide to leave beta.

It is planned in the autumn of this year. So at latest on December 21, 2025.
There is no exact release date yet. It depends on how many problems and bugs there are still need to be fixed.

Someone asked this about a month ago, and we figured out you need level 38 (maybe 39?), and then get Mountain Goat and Horns. That'll bring up Stripes, and Zebra follows that.

If you're high level, as you are, you'll be able to finish the Entropy section pretty quickly. Since we're beta testers, we're supposed to test game progression, which you can't do if you've already progressed far. So the Time Jump takes you to level 54, right before getting Amphibians, with reality engine upgrades that fit that level. That'll enable you to actually play through Amphibians and test if it's too slow, fast, just right, whatever. I was at 62 when I did it, and I'm already back to 61. But if you're at 73, that might be different, especially since there's nothing after Amphibians to boost your level. But it's up to you, obviously.

(Of course, you can always save your level 73 game and go back to it later.)

It just looks that way because you can't see the usual section lines on the side. Every 5 seconds or so, it'll kind of expand quickly, and then you can sort of see the outline.

It looks like the game freeze when autoclicking is solved since I'm in the beta. In the main game the game would lock up after autoclicking for a longer time. With all of the click earning numbers frozen on the screen. I left the game autoclicking overnight (beta) and it is still fine and stable. Nice job!

Yes it will come back. And it should be still in there.
But be very much aware that you will lose ALL of your progress including ALL of your Semblance supercomputer modules. So you will have a new empty game with just a legacy protocol.
Then you can restart everything with the x2 bonus.

I tried it, purely out of curiosity. I'm at research level 62 so I'm not affected.
It resets your simulation and also puts you back a few levels for your research level. (It puts you on 0 research level but then you can get it back to a research level set by this feature.) It also refunds your research chips so you can spend them again to your liking.

When you download your beta game to the non-beta, you are corrupting your game data. You have to check the version you are uploading and downloading your games to in Cells.

Many people have these questions and can read about them in the #🧾-beta-patch-notes channel.

If you find it confusing and don't want to lose your data, stick with the beta version.

Save everything in your main game. Use cloud save to save it as well. If you're on Steam backup your save located at C:\Users(Your Windows user name)\AppData\LocalLow\Computerlunch as triple precaution. Then activate the beta on Steam. In this way you always have a pre-beta savegame ready. But if you progress in the beta you can not load that beta save game to the main game. You have to either stay in beta until the release of Reality Reboot or go back to the main game and load a save from the main game. I hope this explains your questions.

@timber ice (Ignore if you already know this.) Afifk, the Neutrino achievement is for anyone who got the Neutrino Expansion upgrade in the old reality engine. It cost 50 Qa, which made it really hard to get under the old system - I always had the infinity pass, and I used at least a dozen shooting stars a day to grind metabits, and it still took me a month after I'd gotten everything else. So it's kind of cool that the devs recognized that with an achievement, since only dedicated players could get it (legally). Also, you may have noticed the achievement icon has 5e16 on it - that's because 5e16 = 50 Qa. As far as the neutrino relic - yeah, that's cosmetic, but you do get 50ish darwinium for the achievement, so that's something.

Beta will continue until the Reality Reboot expansion is released to the main game. There is no release date yet except for a vague "Fall 2025". So this is at latest before December 22, 2025.
Seeing all the hinting and glitching in the main game they may be working towards a release a bit earlier. But it requires serious bugs to be fixed first and that depends on what is being found.

I don't know if the refund button will be back, but I don't think you'd be able to get past 75 even with the ideal reality engine setup. One of the devs said 62 is the highest you're supposed to be able to go (legally) with the game's current settings. I got to 76 a month ago before they nerfed it, and that circle has barely moved since then.
