I personally don't work on the beyond currently. I am not on that team. However from what I have heard I think it is a mix of everything. The garden is very tricky and the models are time consuming. The tree layout is tricky as well. I think the hardest thing however is the tuning. The numbers get supper big a lot of internal testing is needed to get it to feel just right

I finished the tea event with time fluxes and here’s my honest opinion on it

I think it’s pretty good but it does have some issues which I feel like kinda take away from the experience of the event

I think the biggest issue imo are definitely the upgrade numbers

There are times where some upgrades don’t do that much to help maybe get you like a few QAish

But then other times one singular button click is responsible for 99% of your entire progression

I don’t like this because it feels like for the majority of the event your upgrading one generator into oblivion

It’s perfectly fine to have a ton of upgrades for one generator

But I really don’t think 1 singular button should completely just make 1 generator have 99% of the entire progression

The majority of the events that do have buttons similar to this are normally at the very end of the event

Like James Webb, mass extinction, philosophy, Money, deep sea life and Pollen

I get what they are trying todo here but I think it would be best to have these super powerful upgrades during like the mid game

This is just my constructive criticism and if you enjoy the tea event that’s great! The tea event is a good event but this is just my opinion on what’s wrong with it so far

And this is ofc the very first version of it so things will definitely change up soon for round 2 testing of the tea event

How many badges you have in Extinction event?

My observations and opinion about the event
At the beginning everything was quite alright until i unlocked tea plant, it honestly never became good enough for me to buy it except one moment (after buying Assam tea which unlocked two upgrades for it) when it was useful for 30 minutes to reach an upgrade for tea plantation. In my opinion it should get better than plantation after buying matcha and unlocking upgrades for it. The progression for the part of the tree where you buy using tea cups seemed really slow right before Unconventional Tea because you easily buy everything in the part of tree where you buy using tea leaves and it felt like Unconventional tea was too expensive (It wasn't though, but it felt like it because the other part of the tree was ahead).

Also, after buying that generator, which costed 1e20 your next upgrade cost 4e14 which made me confused since why couldn't you just make it 100% better from beginning, and not put a really cheap upgrade that did that. The upgrades after this moment were too cheap for me because it took me 15 minutes to unlock them both and already be at bubble tea. Bubble tea took a good amount of time along with future tea. The problem with future tea for me was that it made more than previous generator instantly without any upgrades (while previous generators were always worse until you bought few upgrades).
The event took me 32 hours and 30 minutes (real time, not in game time) without autoclicker and using boost x2 and sometimes x4
Overall, the event was great to play and it's not too hard and not too easy

Other than the Deep Sea event, the boosts for all my other events are above 240% since I have at least 8 badges in each of the other events. So, 215% is wrong even if it is picking up some other event badge count ..... 215% will mean 8 copies of 1st badge and 7 each of 2nd and 3rd badge for the event.

You can "bounce" between beta and public to reset events when the events are different. For example, you can finish the Tea event in beta, save game, go to public, download save game, start JWST, save game, go back to beta, download save game, restart Tea event.

And I will admit that I did benefit from the couple of the beta bugs that skewed the Metabit production some time back (that was when the devs set a cut off of 10qi). But am trying to understand the algorithm for the Metabit generation now .... Seems to be negative exponential based on the multipliers that you have and the total metatbits in bank.

I can't post in #💡-suggestions but here's an idea. I play a few other games where you can buy a monthly subscription to remove ads. Also some to remove ads permanently. Why not create a couple of subscription layers named after prominent scientists to allow a player to fill up boost timers and not spend a lot of time on pointless ads for games most of us aren't likely to download?

The "Matcha" generator start is a significant slowdown .... 9M teacup currency for the first really holds up the game .... Either the Tea Evolution generator needs to be tweaked further or the Matcha generator cost needs to be tweaked. My 2c.

Episode 18 constellations should not get reset .... I suggest you submit a bug. If you are testing Episode 19, then only Orion is supposed to get reset every time you start Episode 19.

Ursa Major was an Episode 18 constellation. Does Beyond Jump take you to the start of Episode 18 or Episode 19? Have not tested it during my testing of Episode 19 .... In my case when I installed 19_27, only Orion was reset.

Interesting .... In my case neither Ursa Major nor Eridanus reset when I started Episode 19. But I had completed them both in beta as well as in the Production versions. I suggest that you submit a bug and have the devs look into it. Ideally it should not matter what you finish in Beta, if the artifact was in the older Episode, then it should not reset.

I thought it was all wrong as well - I think I know how to duplicate it. The Steam cloud save thingy is weird, and I had beta on one steam device and public on another, and I think steam saved progress from beta to public. Which makes me think that the only thing stopping a public game player from getting into E19 is to "upgrade universe" - once your past that point, it looks like a public game player can play E19. Interesting.....

I might have to try it with the discord save as well, just to see

question(s) for Tea event:

1. I thought the Dev team wanted to stop doing gardens. 😄 And yet the Tea event has a cute little teapot with steam coming out of it. Is there any function to this teapot, or is purely decoration? I was kinda hoping it would generate cups of tea (as opposed to tea leaves), but doesn't seem to hep with that.

2. Will there be other ways for nanobots/clicks to generate other resources, or is the intent that they ONLY generate tea leaves?

do we think that the white dwarfs will get their own mission? right now we can only do red dwarf missions and that only gets you series I cards in the beyond. the white dwarfs are only obtained through compliting the requirements in the episode and sometimes they are very few and far between
