Yes, there are lots. However, I don't recall there being that many in the latest version. What I like to do is keep a very rank 1 trait cards around on old celestial bodies that I don't need. Saving up dark matter is kinda a pain.

Another thought - you have to be rather patient with the Beyond. You don't need to spend darwinium at all (and at this point, I recommend against using darwinium on the stars), but it sure helps to speed things up a bit for those that just can't stand waiting.

If you want to reach the MZ achievement of 200 gigantasaurs, be careful. :) Only spend the currency once you reach prestige 10. And only buy diamond geodes at Rank 50. I wouldn't worry too much about using darwinium in the Beyond.

Yeah, the rares are a crapshoot. The epics help the most, but you get so very few of them. I am not sure supergiants are worth 100 darwinium after you get the epic cards to level 1 or 2.

Only for gigantasaurus on prestige 10, yes. Well.... "need" is not the right word. The more you can level it up, the faster you reach your goal. Otherwise, you will be waiting a VERY long time.

To speed up the Beyond, you pretty much have to spend darwinium on the various boosts (spacetime and research), and/or the various stars, unless you can watch ads, but that gets quite old. I believe those are the only options.
Oh, and the constellations, but you get so very few stars from normal missions that you will not get many constellations completed without help.
