It's a glitch. If for whatever reason the mutagen number becomes weird, it defaults to 10M. Apparently.

Just a tip: Backup all game versions. So you can go back a version if you need. There have been multiple times where this is useful. Like after the time crystal nerf. However, this can sometimes give issues like lost nodes so always make a crossplatform save BEFORE you load your game in an older version. (If there are problems, just go back to the new version and load your save to fix any issues or corruption)

Well, if you don't like the Devs making changes to try and balance the game then you might not want to play near the leading edge. There's no way to avoid some re-balancing.

Personally, the enjoyment I get from the game is to do with the real things (in primary, Beyond and Meso). Not the RE nodes. And I have got enough entertainment in return for the money, time and effort I've spent. If you haven't, and it is annoying you so much, then I suggest you consider taking a step back.

Is it possible to get the 1000 of each mammal steam achievement anymore?

I'm nearly complete in the game. Level 77, only the last few boosters left to buy (no longer feasible it seems, now that the empty boost is 10k instead of 1M). It'll take me 10 empty runs to get to one more level of entropy booster 11 (140 days minimum). Idea Booster 11 takes about 100 empty runs for me to improve it. Idea speed booster 5 is 100,000x as expensive as the idea booster for me - so that's impossible to raise anymore.

So there's next to no boosts I can get from simulation upgrades. I'm at Beyond 30 and dinosaurs are finished.

I have all modules. I've got <2x more boost I can get from logits. Darwinism upgrades are all maxed or 17+ - over halfway there. So at most I can get another 2x efficiency out of these boosts. Let's call it 4x boosts possible that are remaining.

It'll take me something like 2e176 entropy to buy the last 140 felines. I get 3e164 per second. That's over 10k years with the offline ad boost.

I have all badges and am working on my second round of badges. I think this is the only thing left that can meaningfully increase my efficiency. It's promising because it's a quadratic. But if I get the 4x remaining boosts above, it'll take over 7k more badges for me to get the it down to about a year. That's 22 years of collecting badges.

What am I missing? Or is it just impossible to get anymore?

The last upgrade you can obtain within the simulation itself is at RL 77
There are some achievements which are currently unobtainable in any reasonable timeframe (1000 of generators)
There are some Reality Engine upgrades which are currently unobtainable in any reasonable timeframe (Speed Boost XI, iirc)

Any upgrades like the ones you posted will help you progress as far as you want

It's up to you to determine when they stop being 'useful' though

if you look a the engine, semblance will indicate recommended upgrades, and she's usually pretty trustworthy. you can choose to save up for whatever she suggests, or a specific thing you want to buy, but if that seems like it'll take a while, just rebooting when things feel like they're getting slow and making a few upgrades will speed your sim up bit by bit

I'm guessing that the newer system allowed faster progression but now it isn't and may have been easier for early levels before, because for a month I've only been gaining 1e98 even when I leave it for days when during the first weeks or so of the reality rework I gained 1e101 - when before I was still buying frogs and frog upgrades after waiting a few days now it has been almost months and cannot buy even 1 more frog (I bought those 13 frogs and that frog upgrade during the first two weeks of the reality engine rework - after that no more frogs nor anything else).

It ws also during those first two-three weeks that I could level up, I managed to level up thrice during those weeks. Now I'm completely unable to progress at all on leveling up.

Which nodes in Reality Engine are super expensive for you? You should go for Entropy Doubler, Entropy Tripler, Primordial Power I etc... They should not be that expensive from the start...

Then restart it, spend metabits and knowledge and continue playing. That's the purpose of the game. There is no benefit of letting your simulation run for ages. This is not Beyond 🙂

Some events (like this one) the max placeholders are lower than needed to get 3 badges. Others they are at that level or higher. I tend to work on top 10 = finishing.
