People that start the exploration late tend to be more casual than the ones starting early

If you want to compare, looking back at my data from my time doing it. At the point I finished P10L50, spent everything prepping my traits and started waiting for the last achievement:
||Gold traits @ 13/16/17.
Silver traits @ 10-15.
Giga traits @ 15 / 16.
6.3M spent on the traits I had at that point (ie ignoring anything spent on normal traits before P10. This included 0.5M spend in the shop (to get the giga traits ranked up quickly).||

||Quite a lot of diamond geodes went into this: I was already doing well in events.

I tended to leave Meso to collect stuff, rather than buying many levels of Dino. I Def bought fewer levels than Jojoseis' guide recommended (although I prob had more gold/silver).

Pretty sure you have more mutagen than I did at that point.||

Old players are very often in stage where they have very little things to do. Completionists, perfectionists and those who wants to prove they are better will keep on playing if they have a reason. BUT if they are close to finish their goals they will lose interest in the game. For those you need to add content that is challenging enough to keep them playing.
How can this new content be available to new players? Very hard to do that unless you introduce some kind of restart or new mechanic so it affects both newbies and oldtimers. Or introduction of new design etc.

I really just mean it's kind of the natural progression of things, so don't try to brute force a hard wall too much. Iirc the first Reality Level-based upgrades to the tech tree start coming in the mid-30s range, and that's when things start picking up again

It is normal for the game to alternate progress between the two sides as you gain levels, and as things get unlocked.

If you want a lot of mutagen, I think high rank in events is the best F2P way to go. That does require a decent time investment, but each diamond geode is ~70k mutagen and a ton of cards.

You can, but it needs you to do specific things (not cheating) to get a second player ID: either install the game in a different device (without linking e.g. Google Play) or uninstall and reinstall the game.

You'll also need to use Cross-platform Save to manage the two Save files.

On Android anyway. I assume similar for iOS. No idea about Steam. And ignoring the browser version.

When you get to the end of level 50 it will ask you if you want to 'Prestige'.

This will kill all your Dinos and delete all your normal trait cards and levels.

You will keep gold and silver trait cards and levels, as well as mutagen. And you will get an extra bonus card. (This is why Meso gets faster).

But the total cost is SUM(costs) while the total mult is PRODUCT(mults)

Keeping mutagen becomes more important later on. The amount you can save on your first run before your first Prestige is small relative to the millions you'll have by the end (if you start saving by prestige 3 or 4).

Imo it isn't worth wasting spending a lot of time and effort to reduce the mutagen you spend before your first Prestige (unless you really want to). It makes it really slow for a v small benefit. Up to you though.

So if Land is your big ticket, then value Land and not Ocean. Once Ocean outpaces it, you'll probably have more Darwinium to spend anyway.
I don't think spending more time in Land to save up for Ocean purchases will be better than speeding through Land to be a little slower in Ocean.
