But waiting to start until you've maxed the metabit/knowledge ones will substantially increase how much of those you earn. Because you will get the full multiplier applied to every fill. This will help you strengthen your RE.

If you're interested in ideas/entropy, there's no reason to wait to start buying. Because the fill system doesn't apply to these. But you will earn more, the longer you continue, as the multiplier grows.

I'm just coming to the end of a 21 day run. I have bought all the Metabit side, and just the last bits of the last knowledge 100 node to buy.

With two nodes for each being 100-level nodes that I haven't unlocked yet

Anything I do now to try and get additional knowledge/metabits will likely be negligible when compared to the next purple/orange update.

I could try collect ideas/entropy (and therefore XP and RL) while I'm sat waiting. But again,the next update will likely mean anything I gain there will be negligible. And the next RL is a long way away.

The most optimal thing would likely be to reboot, do more empty sim(s) and just build up knowledge/metabits ready for the next update so I have them ready.

What I will likely do is just sit around not rebooting. This is because I like keeping my number of reboots low.

I'm currently RL77 and earnt ~6e31 metabits and 3e30 knowledge on my last (empty sim) run and could finish the primary tree.

I was able to buy the last Metabit nodes (from ||VN Funnel||) and ~10 of the IB XI nodes.

When I cash in this run I expect to get to ~RL78.5 and be able to buy 4 more of IB XI (getting me to 85/100.

Note this is all without the recent update that nerfed Metabit and knowledge time nodes.

I did try grinding the x30 shooting stars to let me get VNN one empty sim earlier. I couldn't get it though. You can 'force' a certain amount of additional fills, but the effort escalated super fast. And you get soft-capped.

There are currently 29 episodes. To move to the next you need to complete the missions / objectives. And then you'll see 'Upgrade Universe' in the top middle of your screen. Click that.

Note, the best way to complete objectives is to ignore them until they're easy. Focus on buying and upgrading your most effective generator(s).

Ranking up in Meso and Beyond is nearly identical in how they work. The only difference is that Beyond takes forever and a day once you get up to the higher ranks/episodes

The only time it isn't is when you're trying to get the 200x dino achivements, but that isn't really viable to do until you're at a very high number of prestiges

Also, do not upgrade your basic, dino-specific cards past rank 6 unless you need to for an upgrade cards task. Save the mutagen for later prestiges

for the rare and epic cards, upgrade them as often as you can. They do not reset to rank 0 when you prestige like the dino-specific ones do

There's one downside to running an emulated (?) instance of the game. The shop doesn't load, so no access to the darwinium generator 🙃

I gotta say though, playing from the start, Cells is really good at introducing its features. Compared to other mobile games, anyway. So many games overwhelm you with a bunch of menus and currencies, and then ~holds your hand~ drags you along a really tedious tutorial. Cells spread things out and makes it fun to discover new features, like the different simulations.

The most confusing part must be all the different things you can spend darwinium on. The upgrades/badges/augments feel overcomplicated and don't have as friendly introductions as other stuff. Research Chips also feel kinda tacked on.

But it has been really fun to navigate the Reality Engine, along with all the glitches you unlock as you level up. There's some strategy to what you wanna invest in. GG

Firstly, it's great you're supporting the game!

But - as with many idle games - you 'pay' with time or cash. And by spending money you've likely speed-run the game.

Luckily, there's 19(?) exploration events to do, and completing them multiple times gives you more boosts (look for the badge nodes in the reality engine).

Also luckily, the Devs release updates ~monthly, so there will be more content. However, be aware that it appears to be a deliberate decision by them for updates to 'overlap' with the existing stuff. This means newer players will always be able to catch up to existing players (except for event badge boosts).

The Devs did say that they wanted to make the gameplay longer when they did the Reality Reboot update in Nov. Unfortunately (to me) they haven't managed that - they have actually shortened the game play. Hopefully they will manage to get this fixed, but it might take some time.

My thoughts, anyway.

There is no one thing that you must buy. Things also depend on where you are in game, how much darwinium you have and what you like.

If you do not have much, don't spend it on things that won't last like time warps.

The 5th mission in the beyond is something that you buy once and can use forever.
