For mobile, idk about Android, but for iPadOS at least: indefinitely. For Steam, same IF you do the mitigations in advance of the update.. otherwise Steam forces you to update.

it got nerfed with the update, for the most part. it's still worth doing, but it'll give you way less metabits + knowledge, and way more entropy + ideas + xp, but that's only IF you buy the 4 new time nodes (and therefore have all the rest), bc if you don't, it's.. well, it's much more nerf, and much smaller xp bonus

• Phase 1: Use a few slots for Red Dwarfs (1 or 2) and research missions (1). Do Dark Matter missions only if you're short of it or have a spare slot.

For simplificatipn let's use whole numbers.

When you complete 11 missions per red dwarfs slot instead of 12, you get average of 5.5 and 4.4+1= 5.4

When you complete 10 missions per red dwarfs slot, the average becomes 5 and 4+1=5

When you complete 9 missions prds, the average becomes 4.5 and 3.6+1=4.6.

So if you only complete 9 missions per slot (of dwarfs), you will find 4 dwarfs + 1 constellation better

   I will refer to these specific setups by numbers 1) and 2) respectively.

B) only cases of 1 and 2 fragments from the dwarfs are accounted for

C) Math may not be accurate

D) It is assumed that you collect white dwarfs and the constellation mission on perfect basis regardless of any imperfections you may get on red dwarfs

E) The exact formula for the change of 2 or more stars is NOT applied because I don't know complicated math

Maths:

From 1)
You get 0.23 + 0.345 + 1.38 + 1.38 + 1.15 = 4.485 fragments on average per 72 hours with perfect timing

From 2)
You get 0.23 + 0.345 + 1.38 + 1.38 + 1.38 = 4.715 fragments on average per 72 hours with perfect timing

With the previous estimate of 9 missions per slot vs total 12 on only the red dwarfs

1. 2.796 fragments per 72 hours
2. 2.61 fragments per 72 hours

Now 10 missions per slot

1. 3.0475 fragments per 72 hours
2. 3.0475 fragments per 72 hours

CONCLUSION:
On the basis of SIMPLE math and MANY assumptions, if you average lower than 10 missions per red dwarfs slot, then doing the missions on 2 white dwarfs, 2 red dwarfs and 1 constellation is better for fragments.

Around 6hr 15 minute spent on red dwarfs mission is enough to make this setup better
