Make sure you're claiming your free geode every 4 hours, and other than that just keep buying dinos when you can. Also you should only be investing in traits for your high producers, ie your most recent 3-4 dinos depending on your progress
Your best way of earning mutagen is and will always be progress geodes
And just make sure you're not wasting mutagen on useless traits
Definitely check the guide if you need more elaboration

can be completed without clicking and a 10-26 investment in boosts depending on event, at most ~20 average
so even while using the mostly afk way where the only thing you have to do is buy stuff every few hours you only have to spend
- 1.5 on events a day
= 3-4 a day left to do whatever you want
