How are people at fault for playing by following the rules & regulations set in place? Not to be rude or anything, but @fiery oar's point does stand, the team was all made last second out of people from left and right, so instead of coping you should improve your own skill.
Like not to be rude or anything but how do you manage to lose to a team made out of:

• No meta tanks
• No tanks for most strats we wanted to do
• 150+ ping, for most above 300
• Sleep deprived
• Mostly people who got there last second and are not part of the same team for most of them?

Like yeah we get it's annoying and all but instead of focusing on what you did wrong and improve, you just cope about it?

What we truly care about is integrity of the game, and spamming offensive language while lowballing into lower echelon by skipping pys tournaments breaks that inherent trust in rules and order. The respect for basic human civility is what was truly taken away, the playing worse to have a lower tournament to compete in is a much smaller issue.

Just now it was 2 am thanks to an imperfect overlap of eu and NA summer time change. @stone escarp idk about the chat thing as I play with chat off but one person did get banned, that is their own responsibility and their bad behaviour leading to a punishment already. @devout ridge why would anything be rewritten because of this when EU has had this every season for ages vs on NA I doubt anyone will ever bother to try again due to the time zones

If a top 32 team is never to be disqualified for having many legionnaires, what’s stopping them from playing very bad tanks against teams they want to see win, and then trying really hard against people they don’t want to see win? Effectively rigging isn’t it? I doubt Wargaming would even ban them through replay, as playing “bad” for a top 32 team might not even be considering rigging or something. Unless they accidentally make a higher echelon. And I mean that specifically in PYS, because regardless, like let’s say during a cups only season with no direct qualifiers, that could absolutely ruin any team you want to if you’re good enough. For example if top 4 players decide to go do that on other servers, and let’s be honest most top 4 players are rat enough to do that.

Players from foreign servers, my concern doesn’t really affect me much, but displacement of other teams in terms of cups, by PYS placements, that could be devastating.

Let’s just say a foreign top 4 team gets some random NA accounts with enough of the meta tanks and upsets a decent team who would/could have made top 8, and had some sort of potential for top 4 (Idk competition is the lowest it’s ever been there’s a few teams like that currently). As long as that team is out from day 1 or day 2, the team with foreign players can just lose the next day.

Of course it’s hard to single out a team since brackets can be a bit random and seeding changes who you play, but whoever would be going to other servers would just be doing it for fun. So ruining anyone’s day would be enough for them I imagine. Especially if it’s a recognizable team.

Already seen it happen on Eu with those Russians, they just had a bad execution.

Ahh I gotcha. I mean I would say I’m for it to an extent even though I’m from NA. The region is so dead we could honestly use the players and if other region based players are willing to sacrifice their sleep to play, so be it. NA has to stand on business and it probably would bring some people back to the game if the region is competitive regardless of who’s playing. I’d think more people would want to play if the tournaments were competitive and full. At least that’s how I’d be. I like there to be more competition.

Devils advocate though I could see how players from NA would quit if it got raided by cross region players. But I think if players are willing to quit due to more competition, that’s another issue.

I guess you could kind of treat it as “more competition” but I just fail to see it as so, considering they could CHOOSE which teams to lose to without real consequences. That’s the problem I have, it effectively could rig a leaderboard. That matters more for seasons that you only qualify with cups for.

If they want to play I think that’s okay, I would love to see cross server tournaments again even though the ping sucks I didn’t mind playing the last one, but there’s flaws here, particularly regarding potential rigging, or what I consider could be basically rigging. They did it in LE, could do it in PYS, as long as they end up in LE. Or if they even end up in T16 it doesn’t affect top 8 after anyway, the damage would be done.

If you look at recent new tier 10 collectors, they've all come in crates that cost money. So the bzt will never be sold for gold the first time, gold tickets is more likely as WG wants you to spend real money and not a currency that you can get for free. Gold as a currency has become so diluted over the past year. So while I do hope it gets sold for gold, I just know it is too good to be true

a felice was used for 5 of 6 games in grand finals on NA. i don't think it's fair to compare it to the Type 5 as a niche case

if my counting is correct, OBLVN ran a Felice in 13 out of the 16 games they played in top 4. MULTIPLE Felices in 8 out of 16 games. in the first set alone, you used 2 Felices for 4 of the 5 games.

When I watch other teams play, I don’t see and go I wish that were a Felice, or I wish that were this tank. I am excited for teams because they’re making good plays, and then they throw the game by doing something stupid.

Most of the time it has nothing to do with the tanks, they have enough. Not saying they shouldn’t have the Felice, but with its minimal use case, of most of the time there just being 1 Felice, and half the time none, I still don’t think his reasoning makes sense.

I will also add, even when we did use 2 Felices, or sometimes 3 (Only 1 game I believe), some of us did not agree and didn’t think we didn’t need that many. I still believe we didn’t. We have 5 total on the team, and we exceeded 2 Felices once.

I agree with your wants, I just can’t bring myself to agree with you fully because I don’t think that will ever be a reality without real structural change first. It’s a problem bigger than just we want accessible tanks for competitive, you either remove them (those certain tanks) entirely or fix the issue.

by the way, someone mentioned tank bans—not a practical solution. tank bans would only exist to ban collector/premium tanks, because it wouldn’t make sense to ban a tech tree tank that anyone can acquire. even if you don’t like a certain tech tree because of its dominance, the meta is the meta and it would be a better idea to just join it and wait a season for WG to rebalance things.

so if tank bans are only going to be used to ban players from using tanks they paid for, it would decrease the incentive to purchase them.

i think a better solution would be to separate tournaments into a specified game mode that unlocked all tanks for use in tournament battles only— top players would still be encouraged to buy collector tanks if they wanted to practice with them in training rooms and scrims, but the paywall distinction for actual tournament matches would be negated somewhat

I have never seen anything so amateurish and subject to manipulation in my entire life. Basically, WG abandoned an impersonal mechanism to put power in the hands of people who can act according to their own mood regarding a team. If there was a barrier to entry for new teams before, now it has become EVEN HIGHER, while the entire discussion here has always been about eliminating that barrier. If WG want to create such a mechanism, it should create a system where ALL teams can choose "I want to play against this team/I don't want to play against this team" and have a matchmaking system where the most rejected opponents (the strongest teams) play against the most desired (obviously the weakest teams). This should be as TRANSPARENT and impersonal as possible, and not subject to the whims of a bureaucracy.

I think wanting the decision of who you'll face to be in the hands of those who consider you an unworthy opponent isn't a good way to get out of the top 32, unless whoever decides has a personal relationship with you and can favor you 😄

This impersonal system put 3 top 4 teams in a group, twice. During PYS. This last tournament was some of the better seeding we had done in the final stages because we went and adjusted it later on.

All the top teams we spoke to didnt have much against it because it was finally a way to separate groups without those little mishaps.

And only qualified teams will have the opportunity to weigh in. Again, then we go and look at past performance as well. Until we can get a tournament ranking system set up.

You might think people didnt complain but 90% of complaints was about seeding until we stepped in

@queen fox If possible I hope you take input from other servers as well for brackets if you're going to take advice from qualified teams (Eu for Na, Na for Eu, Eu for Apac, etc). Though unlikely, teams could collude, or just simple bias can lead to an unfair bracket if enough people (the qualified teams) want it. I highly doubt that will be the case, but its always a possibility.

So adjust this impersonal system by changing how it selects teams instead of using biased personal criteria like "X and Y are the best teams." The best teams are those that, no matter who they face, will continue to win; those are the truly best teams. One suggestion to make the criteria impersonal is to put the teams in a pot system like in any serious sporting competition. But after defining the pots, there should be a draw to eliminate the possibility of manipulated matches.
