I read this again and maybe it was misunderstood what I meant - I did not mean we should grant extra cups, but the amount equivalent to finishing 3rd to the teams that were playing for who finishes 4th when this happened.

As these teams did not have a chance to fairly effect whether they finish 4th in the group or not

The teams that finished 4th all could have been 3rd, or even higher, and could have advanced into day 3, with a lot more cups to get - but did not have a fair chance to. The least that they could get as consolation would be the equivalent of cups that 3rd place grants.

And the teams that were lucky enough to not have disconnections and won, and therefore were not 4th would not lose anything, and would have the cups the system gave them for their 1st-3rd place

straight up the problem with NA comp has always been a lack of competition outside of top 3, increasing prize pools to outside of top 4 will possibly increase the competition elsewhere and also reward strong players for starting newer teams. Taking for example 6k from First Place this season and distributing it to positions 9-16 would be a relative drop in the bucket for whoever wins while motivating the 3 teams that likely will not play to participate

I was referring to why DFM didn’t do particularly well PYS4. They usually got their own brackets PYS 1-3. Due to seeding WR and number of teams registering being about 40ish teams. But PYS 4 only had about 30 teams register. So it was more likely for top 8 contending teams to see each other. And since DFM hasn’t had the experience facing a peer opponent throughout the season. They dropped placement in their bracket.

I mean dfm faced void but yes aside from void dfm didn’t face any other top 8 teams until pys 4. But that wasn’t the reason I brought dfm up, I brought it up because I was explaining how many cups pys 4 was worth in comparison to the rest of the other 3 pys. Placing 3rd on the one singular day while getting 1st the rest of the season and dfm almost fell out of top 8

I just used dfm as an example for how big a difference pys 4 was in cups. I think it’s ridiculous for the pys cups to scale to the point that pys 4 is worth 42% of the total cups given out during the season

The gap is because of the total cups given in each pys, the gap from pys 1 is proportional to pys 4 but the cups r so much larger in pys 4 that the gap from pys 1 could be filled 3.5 times with the gaps in pys 4

If they make the cups the same or less drastic between each pys or if they make the gap the same either solution is the same result

I think many of us streamers were either past tournament players or callers so we get some of the CW experience. We currently have two registered legionnaires. In addition, we have a player - ChickEyE who is temporarily visiting his family outside of the NA region. This visit is under three months in duration. He had been in US residence for past years. According to WG’s rule, he shouldn’t be considered as legionnaire. To substantiate this, we are prepared to provide the necessary documentation, including his flight tickets and any other relevant proof of his temporary status. You can also trace back his IP address for 3 months.
