They only check acc sharing and IPs and stuff like that during the season, so even though a lot of ZR0’s accounts get passed around more than a high school thot, they don’t catch it.

I’m confused as to how this situation can be so clear cut compared to bought/shared accounts, because if they use IP to handle those punishments isn’t being in close proximity to another comp player an automatic punishment for both players?
(Edit: like brothers sharing an iPad every now and again, I also say this knowing there are plenty of sibling duos in comp so I just don’t know what makes this case so different)

It’s not acc sharing its using another acc to participate in later qualifiers even though your own team has already qualified. That’s what wg is getting at. It’s in the regulations for this season. That being said it’s unfortunate that the APX team had no idea that this player was doing that bc now they are at the mercy of wg.

in an extreme scenario like this, i think it's on the players to prove to Wargaming they are not cheating, since they are showing all the signs of foul play

in no scenario ever has there been two comp players using the same device and IP. for extremely obvious reasons it would not work in the later stages of the tournament when the players have to fight at the same time... so the device could not be shared. this perspective makes no sense at all and I am fairly certain it's just a coverup excuse

Agreed and I really do hope war gaming has concrete evidence going forward in banning an entire team, since I do see it being a possibility of an excuse since this tournament just conveniently had the layout for this cover up to be possible, but it still is a possibility, a stretch but a possibility. Team captains are responsible for their entire team and should be aware of their actions and so are the players of the roster, as it cannot be proven that they didn't know about rule violations inside their roster in WG's eyes, hence explaining the full team punishment as harsh as it might be... not banning the full team would just mean sacrificing one account in order to gain an advantage thanks to a rule break, not punishing the whole team's advancement would be considered unfair in this regard i believe

1 it's incredibly easy for someone to break rules and hide it from the captain, that doesn't make it the captains fault nor does it reflect on the team

2 there is no advantage for the team if the player is banned, so i personally think banning the player (without allowing a replacement) is sufficient

let's say for exemple that a player has the ability to influence the outcome of a qualifier's final in his favour by breaking a rule, do u think it would be fair for his team to go through despite having one player breaking a rule and only him gets banned, when the rest of his team might not totally deserve the spot?
obviously that's just an exemple of the worst case scenario but it's just to say that one player breaking a rule could give a huge advantage to the rest of his team rank wise, allowing them to go farther than they would've if they didn't have that guy going rogue regarding rules

the days of getting away with emulators are done. WG made an effort 1-2 years ago to crack down on shared accounts and emulators within the competitive scene. Its almost impossible to do it now without getting caught. I fear Wargaming IP tracker so much that I send a ticket in advance when I make my trip back home thats 6 hours away 😂

i would not deserve to be DQed, absolutely not, i never said that, i'd even be super mad at this guy since i did not enforce or break any rule, but one of my teammates did and potentially provided us with a slight advantage by either using this account to beat an important opponent to us or losing to our main team, or losing to a specific opponent that would turn the whole matchmaking in our favour etc... which in all cases would influence our place in the leaderboard, directly or indirectly, but i completely agree that there's a very high probability for it to be unknown by the rest of his team and that it would therefore be completely unfair for the guys who's been legit all the way, anyway first of all why would u bring 2 accounts for a single seasons? 😂

Different offense, account sharing is a violation of game rules and punished with ban and team lose 25% of rewards. A person playing on two teams is a whole different offense to wg because before they implemented a tournament rule against it there were teams that would rig tournaments by having multiple teams of the same people. Multiple accounts in the tournament is a tournament offense, account sharing is a game rule offense

Boz I know on Chinese server, top8 championship tournament they are using Map ban pick system. Team A pick map and Team B pick spawn. It looks very interesting. Hello. You technically can't register a team in other classic tournaments (only quick tournaments). No one will punish you for playing in a tournament that does not belong to the winter qualifiers.

The penalty will be only if you qualified for the main tournament, and then from another account decided to help friends and played in another qualifier (or participation in qualifiers in any other format)

This isn't right at all. Most of my team couldn't attach until just before match do to schedules. I want to know why my team was kicked without any advance knowledge nor consideration. If you dont have your team fully registered, so whatever the minimum amount is, by the time registration closes, you can't play in the tournament. Simple as that

All players met qualifications, and as far as teams being actually assigned by close of registration is a first for me...I've always been able to adjust roster up to match start time...but once you enter the match room there are no adjustments allowed for the remainder of the match. Filling rosters in advance pretty much guarantees that you will be playing shorthanded...we were shorted 2 players last night as well as 2 other tournaments recently...5v7's aren't much fun. I fill the roster in the hour preceding the match to make sure the players are actually there and ready to play. The rules state that you have up to an hour before matches to register your team...says nothing about having assigned roster

The uprising tournament closed rosters a lot earlier because it's a group stage format, I can see why you might have misunderstood that. Basically, quick tournaments allow you to create a team and register players while matches are going on, because every team plays their own set of games, and there is no seating.

I had the team players confirmed before I registered the team yesterday...same team that played in last night's Coin Match. Some were already assigned on the roster but rest weren't able to roster up until shortly before actual match time. When I went in to get everything set I found that my team was removed. Did everything by the posted rules. I've learned not to assign actual roster before the players are actually online and in the room...because when the team is actually assigned long before match time some players aren't there and we either go in short players or forced to forfeit. So I always set roster shortly before games.

When you say you "registered yesterday afternoon," I believe you mean you created the team, which is not the same as registering. Registering is when you have finalized your roster and you click the big, green "register" button, which it sounds like you didn't do because you also said that "most of [your] team couldn't attach until just before match [due] to schedules." This is your mistake for not reading the regulation correctly, or checking the time remaining until registration closes. Quick tournaments (like last night) allow you to start whenever you want. Registered tournaments such as this one follow a set schedule and you either show up at the scheduled time or not at all.

Hello. Quick and classic tournaments are different. For quick tournaments, you can register and change teams during the tournament, because registration closes half an hour before the end of the tournament. For classic tournaments, registration usually ends one hour before the start of the tournament, by which time the team must be formed, and the captain must confirm the registration.

I draw your attention to the fact that the mechanics are the same: all changes must be made and confirmed before the end of registration both there and there. It's just that for quick tournaments, registration is valid for almost the entire duration of the tournament (because the opponent is matched in real time), and for classic tournaments, the brackets are formed after the end of registration.

So the main conclusion, be sure to keep track of how much time is left before the end of registration.
