That is also designed for a 4 month season, iirc. With the shorter length of these tests there's going to be a lot of fluctuations. Given enough time it should end up more like being in the top 10 now with stable but very high points.

It only gets worse. I’m at 6k and it either 1.) takes forever to find a match with someone similar rank on the other team, or 2.) since it’s all about averaging points I get paired up with people in low silver/bronze and the enemy is a 7 player average platinum team

Not too terrible bc it means more damage for me if I play right, but just annoying it’s a 6v7 or 5v7 before battle even starts

very interesting. Do you play on multiple platforms? I once had an occurrence that PC didnt load me back in so i hopped on on my phone and got into game, then played 1 full game on phone, then logged back to PC and that fixed it

Hey WG I played ratings today and it is nightmare. Yoloing tanks doesn't surprise anymore and win 7 vs 5 is a challange ok. I get used to it, but today I saw player that want to kill himself by shooting HE in rock next to him in Vickers Light... ~4400 level so I assume that there are not many beginners on this level.
You make event with boxes in ratings which lure players who doesn't care about stats or anything they just play battle after battle till they grind boxes.
Which bring lot of frustration to players who want to play for score and rating points.
That's not good mix imho.
If most people don't want to play ratings, maybe there is some issue with this game mode and adding boxes as rewards of playing it only make things worst,
because players who still want to play it will leave it and maybe they will leave whole game.
I don't want to play ratings in this from, however lucky for you I am fun modes fan. 😛

Please make Box event in regular battles not in ratings where players want to grind skill and meet worthy opponents.

Hope you will fix it in reforged.

Hey guys, I saw someone talking about this being the last Ratings season for the game, and I thought I'd do something to remind myself of this thing. As much as I sometimes get irritated by this game, I really like it, especially this game mode, and even though I can be a little toxic sometimes (lol) I really like it, and you, who always play together in this little Match Making. It's something simple, but it carries something very special for me, I spent my entire childhood playing this thing that I love and hate at the same time and I'm going to miss Ratings battles a lot. I'm thinking about crashing my rating when the season ends too, but if it's too low I'll leave it without that information lol. Thank you to everyone who played and created this nostalgia with me so far.

You must’ve only played offseasons before bc those last 1 month only, but the rewards for tank parts are severely limited compared to the normal seasons. Usually season is 3 months, but (I think) they made this one 2 months due to expected rollout of reforged, but since that’s getting waaaay pushed we’ll likely see a few more seasons this year

I mostly only care where I person is rated because it helps show where somebody is skill wise if they are higher end or lower end, and even then, that’s only in tournaments

You get to a point you recognize 70% of the names you see in a tier 10 rating match too so you learn everyone’s contributions and scores. You also get to find out who the selfish low-diamond/high-plat players are that snipe in a heavy just to force points on a loss when the battle was winnable. Selfishness to get points on losses if you must, but so many games are winnable that those players can’t recognize

Yeah lol, I mostly play in gamemodes because I find it easier to carry the team in them, because I often can play better than most people in certain gamemodes, especially in Grav Force. I’ve had a round where I had 2.2k damage more than my team had combined… I also won a 1v3 in that round XD.
It does get quite annoying though when people don’t understand map awareness and don’t know how to work with their team

If people are camping and snipping in the Bourrasque… they are the reasons I was able to rank 50 it. The tanks solid, doesn’t have great dps but has solid burst damage, especially if you work with your team and spot with them.
The meds and lights snipping is crazy though, makes me kinda annoyed at them, mostly when they get almost no damage/kills and we lose a game because of them not doing any dmg, not even the fact they were snipping

That’s why I don’t really trust it, because I have lower rating then other people who play much worse then me, purely because of the amount of battles they play, that’s why I check battles,WR, av dmg, top dmg, and what tiers they play

I know 40%ers in top 100, and I know people who made top 8 clans in the most recent tournament low diamond. WN8 gives decent indicator but some people don’t play regs anymore

That’s why I, in tournaments, generally just check to see if they a sub 48% winrate, or if they have above a 59% winrate, just to get a small idea of how tryhard they likely will be, and from that I check some other stats as well as what tanks they play the most, helps give an idea of what they might play (at T7-8 at least)

Mby to fix ratings, if you don’t do at least 1000 damage you lose points, have top 2 or 3 players on the losing team get + points and give the bottom one or two plyers on the wining team - points

i think this already happens on rare occurrence. @dreamy tapir and i have gotten points on a loss and someone else gets 1 point on the loss as well, or for players in low gold i seen it happen where a low gold did 1 shot of damage or 0 and they lost. Once you get to diamond it almost never deducts from a 0 contribution loss

Uhhh maybe? Last 3-month season I think battles ended on the final day like 4-5 hours earlier than when ratings usually closes. If that’s the case, you just have to stay put for 4 hours and you’ll be good. But… it could go rest of the night and you may need to play like 5 games to maintain

If you have any autoreloaders those have been doing fairly well on NA. Prog 65 is a popular choice among many top 50 players here and it makes sense why, Kran works well too, IS-4 pretty good if you play aggressive and get rewarded for it.

To your second point I 100% relate, internet bugs and crashes for me and at the worst times lol

My tip for playing it for aces: at the start play out a bit more to get the spots, then play frontlines for some damage and assist xp. Then once you hit half or lower health you can back out and start to farm damage and kills from a long distance. The tank is small, use any hills you can to fully hide.

I said to do it because I did get it to rank 50…. In 445 battles…

Depends on how you play it. I’ve had rounds with 4K+ dmg and 3 kills and gotten a first class.
The tank requires getting at least a few hundred xp from ally support, plus xp from active action, plus tons from dmg and kills

Yea, Bourrasque is a pain because of how it’s dmg it set though. You can get around 600-800 damage every 20 seconds, the damage is in two shots, each average roll around 300, max of 400, with two second interclip and 18 second mag reload

You’d be surprised, the biggest issue (the reason it’s balanced enough) is because its damage is limited to bursts with that delay. If you have the Bourrasque then you go ahead and play it a bit, if not, don’t try to talk about how easy it would be without playing it yourself. Alright? It’s a tank in a tank game, of course they all will be somewhat similar to what you need to get top 1% of xp.

I thought it wouldn’t be hard until I started playing it a bunch, getting good rounds isn’t super hard, getting aces is more painful then other tanks I’ve played at least

It’s not a terrible tank in the right hands, it’s just that for the time spent grinding for it the accuracy just isn’t made right because of dispersion or turret traverse. I love the tank bc I’m used to slow shellvel like borsig 150, but I don’t think the tank is performing where a reward tank should be. Maybe at minimum if they gave it better dispersion & traverse or just gun powder it’d do better. Enemy Tanks just outrun the gun I find people complaining about

In ratings battles the balancing requirements are more strictly applied and there may be fewer players in the queue. Both of these factors make balancing more difficult and can lengthen waiting times. After a reasonable wait it's best to try again, possibly in a different tank or tier.

We don't know the start date for Reforged. There was a lot of feedback on Test 1 and WG has been working on changes that can be included in Test 2. When asked about the date, Tortik replied "That depends entirely on the results of upcoming tests — both from a technical standpoint and based on player feedback. There's a lot of guessing going on but I think June is out of the question. There's not enough time to run a Test 2, gather more data and feedback, and make any neccesary change. Since Tortik is talking about "tests" there may be at least be a Test 3 and possibly a 4.

The original schedule for Test 2 (whatever it was) was tossed out, and I haven't seen anything from WG about ratings or seasons.

Spotting helps, along with other things.

A major factor is that your team lost. The winning team gets a victory bonus. The best player on the defeated team can also get rating points in an amount equal to 70% of the rating points given for victory. Although only one player on a losing team can get that bonus, I've seen a few battles when a second exceptional player gets a few points.

There’s a minimum amount of xp you need to get to actually get points when you lose. If no one meets it you won’t get points. You should really focus on spotting what you are shooting since you share the xp of tanks you shoot that you aren’t spotting

Switching from mobile to PC definitely helped with my aim and positioning, spamming ratings definitely helped with me learning positions that work way too well in public matches but I started ratings after hitting 50% oh and definitely not being a child anymore helped alot lol, o7

One of the biggest things I would say that helped me improve was finding out heavies can go medium side 😱 and also that if I start rewatching replays and looking at my mistakes, I end up learning rather than getting angry at my teammates, I'm far from good but I feel like I could hit 52%, it's just hard when little me managed to be so garbage for 14k games so it takes 3 wins in a row to raise my win rate 00.01%

Oh! And one more thing, rating definitely made me feel way more confident. Whenever I saw unicums or tourney players I'd make mistakes because I was genuinely intimidated, fighting unicums all the time made me realize they're good but they aren't invincible and I started to learn their play styles and predict which side of the map they would go on and I ended up beating a lot of them so I see tourney players and super unicums as enemies and not an instant loss sry for the yap lol

Just don’t do what 2 notorious NA players do, where they camp and snipe in a Kran without helping their teams ever… that gets annoying and is an easy way to get yourself targeted first by the “regulars” on the ratings leaderboards

What’s so tough about ratings is if your team loses, then almost everyone on the losing team loses rating points. I sometimes am on the top of the list on damage but almost never get the ratings points. In a TD so I don’t spot and rarely cap

And that’s what pubs is for. If you wanted a better ranked system it’d only be tier 10. The game isn’t built for diversity of tanks just by the nature of the goal to win as many points as possible

If there’s 20 tier X players at one point in time, and tier X is the only tier in ratings, only 14 people will get into battle and the other 6 will have to wait until those other 14 finish their game and hope to get in. So 1 match & 6 not playing.

Let’s add tier 9, majority of tanks here are transition tier tanks with a few worthy tier 9s that actually pit tier 10’s to shambles. 10 tier 9 tanks now enter cue, and they are met with the 6 tier 10s left in cue. What ends up happening is 6 tier X tanks and 8 tier 9s make it into a game. Leaving 2 tier 9 players in cue, while a tier X battle is ongoing as well as a hybrid 9/X battle is ongoing

But hold on. One could argue that you should only run tier 10, and if I made ALL the available players the same tier then you’d all get games. Yes. True. But we’re talking battle availability now. If you play a tier X, you can either enter a “pure” game or a “hybrid” game on current system. Which is meant to help those last leftover players left in cue find a match instead of praying that they get chosen when the others get out of their game and try loading into another. It improved flow through variability. How they go from there is debatable, because tier 7s seem like free exp for many tier 8s, tier 8s aren’t as free for the tier 9 & tier 9s are certainly not always free for the tier Xs.

That said, if they give it better prioritization of matches that’ll give the resolution we need. Focus on tier 10s getting to battle while reserving some tier 9s to force hybrid matches for most competitive tier to cycle regularly. Tier 8s are numerous for their many premiums so tier 8 can be 2nd priority due to player count/availability to have its own pure battles and make tier 9 the “caregiver” tier to offer tanks into 9/X hybrids, and sometimes 8/9 hybrids. Treat it like a fast pass line vs standard line at Disney (also maybe ditching tier 7 to make this idea best in fruition)

I would not say “bad” but I think if you ran some other tanks better suited for farming damage you may get more points more frequently. Give the IS4, WZ-121, Obj 268, Obj 140, T100lt, Kran, or E50 a try. Seemingly easier to pump damage out current meta, and if you have chieftain (and good with hesh) or T22 those both do solid

Truth is any tank can and will perform in the right hands, but those tanks I listed might be easier to do damage if the set you’re playing rn isn’t as consistent

I only say “more consistent” because if your team dies you can fend off yourself a little. T-62A isn’t a bad pick tho
