At the corner there is elevation change giving terrain cover
People also use the hilly part where you cap A in supremacy as hulldown
Still not enough space for proper hulldown gameplay
That part of the map isn’t built for heavys as it was built for meds/lights
It was built so poorly that no class can play there, yet everyone going that way
I find alot of cover and fight fairly well in most tanks there

Do you realize that battles on that map are so slow that if you go flanking the entire enemy team just turn on you, or rail your team
Battles there for me are actually quite fast because most of the time my team is split and one side dies so quickly while the other is doing who knows what
I would suggest trying a different method of playing in that map if every time it turns into “either hide with 0 damage or die”
Going solo on the other only playable hangars side?
Or maybe taking a different position somewhere else, idk how you play in that map with what tanks, you can figure out how you can play best there
Also there's disbalance between spawns on that map
You can peak much easier from the upper spawn
And if you have at least somewhat strong turret you can't be countered
But I think the other spawn dock side can get over to the coal mounds faster
That's the thing, no one plays that side for some reason
Everyone gets so pent up with the “everyone stay together” idea and just follows whoever is in front of them leads them toward med side nearly every time in almost every map
I mean that strat works fine, this is not wot pc, but I still don't understand why everyone always going med side
Usually heavy side is town, the general player base hates towns
That's because for mediums it's gonna be a big problem brawling heavies in city, and for heavies on the other side there's no such problem when they're playing med flank
But ghost factory is just different, it's unplayable for both - heavies and meds
Ghost factory is pretty bad.. everyone goes med side, flanking is not really effective if you spawn on the port, barely any crossfire possibilities across the map making heavy side completely useless. Factory is interesting though, in the rare occasions you use it.
Imo not the maps fault cuz till the time corridors exist, choices are need to be made, trends are to be set
most maps are focused on one side only (most of the time the medium one) because pushing all together a flank with tanks advantage will usually guarantee the win
No that’s not true usually you can use 2 thirds of the map, rarely the whole map like Castilla, Dead rail or falls creek. Only maps certain only have one viable side ( port bay, ghost factory, Faust )
On some maps, doing a Zerg rush into one flank will just leave your team cornered

I think it's an okay map. The medium lane is, for better or for worse, still a good section for fights to take place in. Plus, the lack of crossfire may as well be a good thing, because it discourages heavies camping in the most awful of spots. CQC in the factory itself is intersting, though hulldown tanks tend to suffer in this section of the map.
why go medium side on factory?
just go the other side where you can have interesting fights or go factory to peek different parts of the map.
I've done it before. I've never liked the factory section , as I play US tanks and as you may know, they lack hull armor most of the time.

The factory tends to be a death trap
I find its hard to predict how a battle will turn out when a team goes to factory
not always, you can exploit that it has openings on all routes on the map to scout or just ambush
it is def better than going medium side, which i agree is terrible
The factory part definitely does work occasionally, but usually, if a team doesnt play well (which really happens a lot in Asia), its usually, a death trap, yeah
Though I did see some times where enemy teams pushed through factory and won because they secured that area of the map

The base is way too close towards the green side. Also, the green side gets to camp in TDs all day with that huge hill they spawn on. So sadly, this will have to be a nay from me.
Green has no vision of the cap when their spawn corner, thats kind of the point of the map; green has to defend the the hills on the edge inorder to make sure they can stop base capture.
They'll still camp. This is WoTB, after all.

It would work like that too, but I was trying to get away from symmetrical maps
asymmetrical maps usually don't work sadly, because one of the two sides will get an advantage (and the other a disadvantage)
@stone tendon . interesting and simple central planning for defence. i would stagger the placement of buildings on plan for some parts so the line if sight is not straight through one side to the other. a ruver crossing would help define the map and game play too. just my 2cents. theme would be cool if its a prison break. old prisons are all centrally planned.
I see what you mean, I agree the 3 rows of buildings should be arranged a bit differently to prevent the back alley from being too open / to give cover

If the game could dynamically change time (day / night) of the map. Based on device time (or local NTP) - With the possibility of switching off in settings.
I know there used to be ideas for implemented weather (Snow, sand storm, Rain,...) - That can be more device intensive.
It would be cool, you just also need to add different textures for foliage depending on the time too

they said in christmas stream pbr maps would be out this year, but due to the pullout of russia/belarus there might be a delay
Would be awesome but It would have to be done probably with PBR maps only, since pretty much all lighting and shadows in the maps now are baked in for whatever time of day it is by default and it would look off with different sky's and sun locations while the shadows and lighting is still pointed in whatever the default is. The only way they can do it with non pbr is if they had pre baked lighting for each set time change which would mean having like at least 4 versions of the same map; which would increase game size immensely. Or they can just go the easy way and not care how the maps look like and just change the sky.

If you have mediums going to the hills, hold the middle and create crossfire. If no one goes hills you go to the middle, or if you have enough armor you hold the base cap in the dip. If you are fast enough you can go to the corner.

Even in randoms never go middle. You literally cannot accomplish anything from there. There’s no cover anywhere so you just get farmed by hulldown tanks at D or unspotted tanks at A. And both a and d are very sheltered from mid as well so you have no shots on anything

It's situational, but when I use it, it works pretty well. The corner is rarely used, unless youre using a 4005, that spot is only used when there are all/majority heavies on both sides.

The most reputable sources that get the earliest leaks know that nothing has been teased beyond WG stating that they would come, in a stream last winter.
I’m not saying they won’t be teased in May but you can’t go around spreading misinformation, if you don’t know what WGs plans really are.

There is nothing to base those claims on tho. Sure, a pbr map may come for 9.0 based on the fact that they release something new each major release. but do you even know when 9.0 will be released. It could feature the release of just the Japanese heavies (and some other stupid feature WG managed to squeeze in a line) but there's no solid proof

Educated guess is one thing, claiming it's true is another
PBR maps do admittedly have high chances of coming in 9.0 but unless it's an official leak, just stick with "probably coming" instead of "are coming"
Yeah, based on patterns of tank releases Japanese heavies are far more likely for 9.0.
Since when have we ever said anything about MS1 and WG being a small company? We know they’re huge, but that doesn’t mean they’re constantly churning out content. The war in Eastern Europe and WG’s decision to close their Minsk studio also makes it more likely development will slow down a little.

At this rate 9.0 will probably be released at the beginning of June or so, the rates of updates have really slowed down and especially this 8.10 update which really doesn't have much isnt coming out until at least next week.

PBR maps will just equal massive game size, is it really worth it just for the game to look a bit prettier? already its double the size with just a few dozen PBR tanks, the game will just get heavier and heavier with all these textures...
Gameplay matters more, not looks, and there are alot of maps that need rework.
To me at least, maps getting PBR is a good excuse to rework them.

Few facts-
HD Desert sands has not been tested in Open Test(OT) 8.10
So we can say that it won't be comming in patch 8.10
But, the files have been found and have been used to see how it looks(cuz can't play on it, invisible walls and tanks going below the ground) so maybe 9.0 or 9.1
But definitely not 8.10 cuz finished files are not available nor tested in ot 8.10
Few things that culd happen is
9.0 sees PBR map, 1, and 1 reworked HD map
Or Only new(er) maps will get pbr 1st but as the difference between them qnd the oldest maps will be too much, older maps will get HD 1st then PBR when their time comes
So ye, expect it not to drop in 8.10 but maybe in 9.0 or 9.1(june or july 1st week or 2nd week)
Molendijk or Ghost Factory will probably be one of the first updated to PBR, those 2 most definitely have a pbr version already made somewhere in Wg
the little windows in ghost factory reflect light when on max graphics
I have a feeling they will release a new map with PBR

I'm not putting a desert PBR completely out of the equation, but when it comes to advertising, it should look good
look obviously the ingame offers showing the tanks flying around on rendered maps isnt a leak but with that video it shows that they are working on them. Theyve never done such a thing for advertising.

My big problem is people are so gullible and hungry for new content that they don’t bother to rationally think about what they’re saying and often prompt information. Big clickbait YouTubers such as Happy or Droodles help promote the misinformation. The funny thing is, Droodles gets his leaks actually legitimately from aeson, who is very reliable however he often combines it with speculation that isn’t always obvious to the untrained viewer and clickbaity titles to boot.

I mean if they are showing 4 tanks normally - not animated - driving on a pbr map it’s enough evidence for me to think that they have it behind the scenes

Thats like taking the Tiger 131 offer, in the render of the offer it had the correct cupola, but the in-game model doesn’t, then saying the Tiger 131 will get PBR next update

People always say Wg should be careful on leaving people with low power devices behind, but I honestly want to know how prevalent that is. They should do a survey on what people's devices are and if they plan on upgrading within the next year or so. Just ask what our AnTuTu benchmark score is now (or some other benchmark app like Geekbench) and if we are upgrading what will it that device's score be.
Would be interesting to see what people have.
I'm still personally using my budget phone that was initially released in Oct. 2016 but I plan on upgrading sometime within a few months.

So the lower end devices wouldnt have to download such a large game; 8gb is a quarter of a phones storage for many
Many lower end android phones still have an SD card slot so it shouldn't be too much of a problem if you have low internal storage

With the smart dlc system, not everything has to be downloaded, so it would simply be that if you don’t want pbr models and maps you wouldn’t need to download them

Its been 1 year since WG removed the chinese map and dessertic map from the game ( in which i dont remember the names ) and i even forgot why did they do that
To rework them because they were not suitable for high tier

Imo the pbr maps will look more like the maps implemented in WoT Modern Armour(aka wot console)
Cuz i was just going through an interview with the head publisher of blitz and in that and in pretty much all of their(blitz's) media releases, they have said about how they could bring console level graphichs quality to mobile
So their aim, imo, has always been to achieve console level graphics on mobile, and not WoT level😂
And may I add, WoT console looks really cool⚡
tanks over 50kph go to the NE part of the map. the rest should go to the middle area. the NW area isnt that great. but, if the enemy do go there, try to encircle them from at least two directions.

Not really. You don’t just send infantry into a city and not bring your tanks in. That’s as dumb as saying the T29 is average. No, you bring them in and have your infantry clear buildings and be the tanks’ eyes. See, tanks usually carry something called a “gun.” These guns are usually quite big. Sometimes, very big. These guns usually carry something known as HE shells, which is short for High Explosive. They… never mind, it’s in the name. These HE shells can be used to bring down buildings. Now, that’s good. Sniper in that house down the street? No prob, we gotta tank with us! MG nest? The tank will deal with it as well. But, there’s also the fact that the enemy will also bring tanks in, and infantry has found that it’s always hard to destroy tanks on their own. Sure, towed AT guns exist, but they’re not very mobile and are more vulnerable in urban environments. This is where tanks shine. They’re a protected gun (at least, most of the time) that can deal with targets that the infantry cannot. This might happen, from flat and open plains, to confined cities.
So, can we please vote to get rid of Mines (a tier 1 map) from tier 10, it is not designed for high tier, like at all. We have plenty of good maps for tier 10. I would not be exaggerating if I said literally every player would enjoy mines being removed from tier 10.

That's ideally how they should be used anywhere. They augment the infantry's ability to achieve objectives by being protected and mobile firepower. The infantry just needs to make sure this firepower is protected from threats it cannot effectively see.
Also tanks have thermals so hiding behind buildings is harder than it seems
Factual, especially with the addition of the TUSK upgrade kit which adds tons of slate armor, more ERA, more machine guns and other things to allow increased survivability in CQC in Urban Environments, with the latest addition Single Charge war heads in AT weapons are practically useless and even Tandems will have a issue ||Tandem warhead example: Javelin missile. Single charge example: RPG||
Also btw Tow Behind artillery is practically useless unless they fire rod rounds or advanced cannon fired missiles. This is not saying the tank isn’t vulnerable, as weapons like the Javelin can be used to effect against all types of ground vehicles and have been seen in enemy hands before. There are many ways to dispatch a enemy AFV but tow behinds alone won’t get it done for sure

Wg always took a bit longer time for developing maps, you can take molendijk and ghost factory for example
- Ghost factory got leaked it's process in may 2019 and came to game in jul 2021
- Molendijk got leaked in mar 2021 and came to game in jan 2022
- yukon got leaked in oct 2019 and came to game in jun 2020
i personally don't miss them, Mirage was completely unbalanced and most of the map was usless and Lost temple wasn't exactly the best either

Both those fun mode moon maps are terrible, mirage had a better side to start on over the other, i liked the idea of a hill advantage point in it, but that needed an area similar to castilla where it could be contested without the whole team support. But id like a giant maze map, full of bushes so you bring battles into CQB and use the hull down meta in a way where they dont have a huge advantage.

Yeah, it looks fantastic for something that is meant to be a mobile game. Very polished. Although I will try to keep further comments until it goes on the live server
Even if these newer PBR stuff doesn't hold up to your expectations, just switching over to PBR will help future proof the game. If it doesn't look as good as you'd hope, it's more likely a lighting issue rather than a texture one. This means that they can always improve the look down the line without having to replace or update textures. They can just do incremental increases/changes to their lighting engine over time.
One thing I also noticed which has been implemented for all maps, is that driving through bushes will now shake them a bit, like they’re actually being displaced. Shooting through one also shakes the bushes much more, and when you shoot on a grassy area the grass around you also will react to you shooting. Very cool, makes the tanks seem much more alive in the environment.
On another note, they should add a lens flare effect to the post processing while they are at it.

Awful for heavy tanks with no gun depression but great for fast tanks with good flanking, only issue is that it has not that many hiding spots for snipers that want to get a good view of the map
The pillboxes are great and the bushes next to the bridge and city entrance are also good spots, you can even camp the cap spot and look around from the middle of the map

PBR maps/garage can closed woth selecting "Medium" in map quality.
If you want play PBR maps in patato devices, they added 3 modes in "Low Res." ( Off = Off?, Static = Always On, Dynamic = Sometimes on sometimes off )

It looks fine, I just think they need to add back some haze/fog for distant objects. Maybe I need to see it on my own device to judge but the mountains and stuff in the background in their video looked a little too clear, kind of throwing depth perception off a little
The fog levels are probably more 'accurate' to how it would really be IRL; but since the maps aren't that big. Even mountains which are made to make you think they are way off into the distance aren't really all that far from the playing area. So they are getting less haze/fog because at that distance it's technically more accurate, but it throws the depth of the whole map a little off. At least in my opinion.
Kind of like the fog problem the gta trilogy remasters had.

Imo, the colour pallet used for the architecture and the terrain(grass) is accurate.
As castilla is a Mediterranean setting, that is exactly how Mediterranean setting looks, the paints on the walls , the grass its all pale in reality as

And additionally it is an afternoon/noon setting so the sun is directly vertical to the ground hence the nature of the shadow is less in the area covered as well

Overall the PBR maps look good, I just think the colors need to be slightly more vibrant at least for the plants. Still, it’s not much of an issue, the only major problem I have is the fog. I’m sure on other maps there will be more. Despite some small nitpicks though, the PBR maps overall look fantastic.

The assets on the map itself are amazing, that looks good. The new grass, water, rocks, everything looks good.
The only problem is the lighting. WG needs to change it a little so it’s more vibrant and less drab, even if it’s supposed to look like that.
The colours are a bit flat, and it needs fog.
Hope your right about this mate. Am sure they'll do a better work for the rest of the maps🙂

I wonder if people would go more often to that area beside the bridge heading into town now that there's less water and seems like they widened the grass area there too. If you tried going there in the current version it was completely useless and made you go so slow with all the water.

yeah i also like the current water setup, it's actually not that bad as it might seem. Maybe it's because i actually use it fairly frequently to reposition, but there's a sweet spot where you don't ride too far up the wall and you can travel at a pretty decent clip, maybe half to two-thirds of speed limit even though you're in a rough spot and water. It's really nice because nobody wants to follow you since its a little hard to do and they dont want to fall too far into the river

It is Ghost Factory but instead of one ditch in the corner it has two ditches in the corners, one for mediums and one for heavies. To add to that nonsense it has a mountain in the middle that is surrounded by a massive moat.
That wouldn‘t be all that bad if the top of the mountain was less akin to a display plate where you basically have to hide in the access routes to be somewhat in cover. That however means that you are just asking to be flanked and cross-fired.
So, the middle is not a great place to play because you are probe to being eaten alive (and you can‘t help anyone killing themselves in the ditches), the flanks are not a great place to play because you can fight it out in a ditch brawl (which automatically puts anyone who plays proactively at a disadvantage) and everything in between is just dead no man‘s land because it‘s a massive open ditch
It‘s ironic that the Dutch map in this game the most unnaturally hilly one
Oh, and it also looks horrible because the entire landscape looks so unnatural

Ok from my experiance Ghost factory is just a corner brawl, and Molendjik is the meds and lights fighting in the village, TDs near the pillboxes and heavies on the cap hill. So I prefer it as using: 2/3rds of the map > 1/5 of the map.

Somebody help me with Canyons map. I always lose hope of winning whenever it comes up. Be it heavy, medium or TD, I just can't win.
If you are a light, medium or a heavy tank with 10° of gun depression, you must take the middle part of the ground, next to the base. Make sure that your tds are covering you though
Stick with your teammates and peak corners from a distance while the enemies are distracted by your teammates, try to get a critical like breaking their track or damage their viewports, breaking their track can help your teammates with aiming and it helps alot
Theres a lot of spots and advantage points there, you can hide in bushes and snipe from there with a TD or medium, lights can stick behind heavy teammates and mediums can provide assistance aswell

What I observed is, either the team just camps their way out of the game to lose or just pushes aimlessly here n there...again which results in a loss.
I look at the map every 4 seconds thanks to my ADHD, and it really helps seeing which way the enemies are headed so I can reposition myself and get a good angle.
It really helps to look around your surroundings and wait for your team to push first while hanging out behind them, assist them and push with them, hide behind them when low health and back up when they're backing up

Also depends if your teammates have an IQ of 40, or an IQ of 150
I feel tht this map doesn't has TD spots. Mostly hulldown spots at the bridge.
If you feel that your team isnt pushing, drive in front of them and go forward, most of the time my team notices me and usually follows behind

If an enemy is camping a wall, hug the wall and drive against it while going towards the enemy, due to this problem the enemy will have to expose their tank to you when trying to take a shot at you, if your teammates are nearby they'll act like seagulls and fire at them pretty quickly
And by seagulls I mean a hivemind, they all think the same thing: shoot enemy

Yeah I get to learn a lot from here. Only to apply and look like a rebel on the map lol. But many a times I do win. I play higher tiers like 8 and 9. And it has more chances of noobs not practicing well with lower tiers and coming to higher tiers by foolishly spending free xp and gold
I only spend XP and gold on modules, I'm a F2P player, I only use what the game gives me
I do have a suggestion, just do what your teammates do, go everywhere and then when you see a couple on an enemy, surround that enemy

When I was mentioning about revamping middleburg, there was going to be plenty of cover for tanks to hide instead of the enemy having massive amounts of cover ontop of a mountain compared to a town with only around 3 aiming spots

go to the hilly end of the map and crest over the hills. Once those enemies are taken out, you can cap the base in case of campers on the opposite end of the map.
@rotund flume heavies usually go into the town, while mediums and lights go into a close quarter brawl in the park, though it is possible for heavies to fight in park. TD can go to either side and provide long range support for the other tanks ahead of you. Winning in dynasty pearl requires a lot of teamwork and coordination, which is why it's a pain to win in.

Molendijk: amazing map but awful spots for sniping, buildings are too close together and provide too much coverage, while capture point is good, the hills are too large for slow and heavy tanks.

hellas: good sniping map with alot of coverage, but awkward capture point with enemies easily able to run around and shoot the team from behind.

Faust: too many open areas aswell as being unbalanced due to one side having a hill with tons of coverage and the other being completely flat and with little to no coverage.

Mines: due to it being far too open and easy for TD's to get easy kills while alot of tanks cant defend themselves due to the capture point being in an awkward spot.

Vineyards: Too many hills, open areas and unbalanced spawns, one having a large hill infront of it while the other has only a couple buildings to hide behind, capture point being way too out in the open, making it impossible to capture it.
Agree with molendijk and mines, but where are port bay, dead rail, middleburg? vineyards and hellas are good
Again I did say in my opinion, but port bay is okay to me, dead rail is fine, middleburg sucks but I dont really see that map often, all it really needs is an update
The only maps that you listed that I don’t like are Hellas and Faust, one is way too flat and the other is just win the corner win the game. Both maps have flat spawns and barely any vegetation.
Molendijk and vineyards are great, slow maps but I prefer that, mines is good design but the map itself is too small for high tier
Vineyards does have a serious balance problem. I have literally never seen South Spawn lose unless they go city

New Bay city sucks, one side gets hulldown, the other side gets a literal hut and some concrete blocks as cover

Corner is way too important, and if your heavies don’t push over the ridge or don’t take the C ridge then it’s an instant loss
any tourn game where one side has the park wins almost 9/10 times
The hut team cannot easily dislodge a team in the park area

Also Normandy is a pretty good map. Well I suppose the closer you are to the beach the less relevant your position is. Besides not have excellent positions for tds to camp doesn't make the map bad. Maps that do that are often much more campy and not as well regarded. Like mines, campstilla, dead rail.
I was thinking what if the devs created a really large maps and then bring a new battle royal mode where 30 tanks face each other to the finally winner. And also add a platoon mode for it which would be 15 teams of 2. That would be really fun😁. Think about it guys🙂

Castilla makes you work? Most of the time I see the meds camping by the church on the hill (its in no way a castle), the heavies like to camp with the TDS

while mines is undoubtedly poorly designed but, whenever i see it, it feels like a bit of a break in between the other maps. after a while, the other maps all feel the same. go to one corner, hope your team goes to the right corner too and just slug it out until one corner wins. corner corner corner. mines is just a bit different. or switch out corner for redline.

early battle gameplay is dogshit but mid to latter part is more... dynamic. its not just rofl or slug, feels like you can manage between shooting town and hill, proxy spot hill for the campers. small things, but a shift from the regular maps

Remember during the Christmas stream, Michael(level designer) had said that there will be 3 new maps in 22, Molendijk already came.
The 2nd one is the mirage rework(ig/dubbed as) with the tropical setting and a boat in the map. And the 3rd one culd be the lost temple re work
Now the 2nd possibility culd be...
As we know that a new pbr map will come every 2 update( so ideally next pbr map will come in 9.3)
Wg culd release them reworks in this pipeline too
But be assured when it comes, it will be pbr
The old non-reworked mirage and lost temple should be added as training room maps, and the water fall of mirage answell as it's Pond should stay in reworked version too.

No. If you don‘t want to decide (and can hold your own) go middle, otherwise just go wherever you want

In short: experts say learn maps and see what good players do. But good players have no real consensus on a map by map basis. They know plenty of good spots and have their own map awareness that guides them. But in the end, a beginner should just follow Meadsy69 and Bushka's advice and follow the flow. JMO. Try to learn as much as you can, but follow the team/.
Too easy to follow good advice badly and end up yoloing.
Going ship isn't particularly useful. It's practically impossible to push because the cover is set up so it's a choke point with lots of cover for defending, so you need a serious tank gun and hp advantage to move. You also can't spot who's covering the side independently so you can't know whether you can push. The hills need to be covered no matter what, once you get a breakthrough it's easy to push, it's just hard to get a breakthrough when it's evenly matched, so the teams focus should be on that area. The centre is most useful if all the reds go hills because then it opens up opportunities to be aggressive through the middle and create crossfires, but it also means that you won't have as much of a presence on the hills so you need to make it count, no use sitting there covering positions because your teammates will be losing hp.
Tldr:
Med - go hills, if team follows go aggressive, if team doesn't go passive and prepare to run once you spot the reds
TD - go hills/bushes covering hills and don't let a red poke without bleeding. You need to be preaimed and ready to fire
Heavies - go mid if you feel risky and aggressive, hills if you aren't

what do you guys do when your entire randoms team is lemminging a flank and your in a very slo TD? (do you lag behind or straight up lemming with them?) to chill in the back could result in getting CODed by lights, while to lemming would risk the entire team getting flanked and surrounded
Just lemming, atleast you die with your team or even use your teammates as meatshields, to just stay you are just asking to get swarmed by LTs

Just stop making maps with urban areas, they almost never work because it is unnatural for tanks to fight in that sort of environment

Faster tanks were designed for being on dirt roads and going faster on paved/brick roads than other common armored vehicles, mediums were meant to support infantry and other lines of defense while heavies were meant to be used at frontal attacks, tanks went through urban areas to get to militarized locations and break down defenses such as large fences, anti-aircraft weaponry, and to create a blockade against enemies to help troops proceed deeper into enemy territory, they were literal armored moving houses with guns ontop of them
I dont care if my team cries, I'm always great at defending myself in town like areas, unlike hills they cant peek their turret over it and they have to expose themselves around corners
Armies try to avoid urban areas at all costs. Urban areas are a death trap for the attackers. However, if you have to take a city, then a tank supported by infantry is the way to do it.
Exactly, tanks are a great advantage in cities due them being pretty much immune to most explosives and small artillery fire, buildings provide great coverage for such heavy moving vehicles that are looking to hit an objective
Tanks aren’t even that great in cities, they’re just used because it’s hard to shoot an infantryman behind a tank. Cities are tall, taller than tanks. Defenders can sit above them with anti-tank weapons and kill the tanks rather easily. This is why taking a city involves going through each building quickly and violently, disrupting the defenders ability to use their fortifications. The tank is just there in case the enemy has decided to set up a machine gun at the end of a street or something like that
I'm not talking about cities like whatever that nightmare wargaming created, basically New York, I'm talking about smaller towns, not completely urban areas but more of neighborhoods
At that point it’s a matter of amassing infantry behind tanks and then storming in with overwhelming numbers. It is still not favorable, but more possible to take
Storming a city is a death wish, storming a town is a mission
Cities can be taken with a bit of planning and preparation. If you cannot bombard the city with artillery or bomber planes, cut off its supply route.

To be honest tanks were only moving artillery, one hit and all it took was reverberation to confuse the crew and allow them to be vulnerable
They were actually pretty useless, all they were was moving bunkers

Tanks were a massive advantage in a fight. Having armor and a big gun against infantry was huge for your side’s morale. It also disheartened the enemy if they didn’t have tanks. Then there’s the fact that a tank can see the battlefield and see what area needs help, whereas artillery could be miles away and we’re just working with coordinates
Maus and T28 were too expensive to produce and took a lot of time and maintenance to keep them running however they were really different to get into certain compartments considering they had to take apart a lot of the tank to access things such as suspension, fuel, and the engine
You pretty much just stated all tanks in general, mostly german tanks
They were only bulletproof vehicles, an assualt vehicle could do the same thing, an Anti-tank mine, Anti-tank round launcher, both could take out a tank pretty quickly, dont get me wrong it was really a large advantage to have them but alot of them didn't operate well enough and they were pretty big gas guzzlers

A lot of them operated well, especially during German blitzkriegs where tanks were used en masse to break enemy lines and then keep going.
Sherman was a decent tank that could be built relatively cheaply and quickly that served its purpose in the US army, you have to remember they had hard times fighting tanks like the Tiger I
What stopped the German blitzkrieg first? Soviets using even more tanks and anti-tank weapons in a defensive line. All in all, tanks were beasts on the battlefield that could change the tide of battle just by being there

Reverberations meant actually hitting the tank, which mostly happened from other tanks or anti-tank guns. High temperatures could be vented out.
Despite tanks being rather “weak” against certain weapons, they can still be vital in battlefields, having a vehicle that could drive around the destroy enemy fortifications without taking much damage is a great thing to have, even if tanks are “1 shot” by anti tank weapons the enemy still needs to build those weapons and learn how to use them

Not saying it needs to stop the crew, it needs to confuse the crew, an explosion can shake the crew quite a bit

A loader has to constantly chuck heavy shells into the gun to load it, this can cause large amounts of stress but it's a good workout, the driver has to worry about where they're going due to the viewports only seeing in specific angles and wherever the turret it looking, they can almost never look up or directly down so they had to contemplate whether they were about to fall in a ditch or not, did I mention its absolutely deafening inside of a tank? The loud engine, the gun firing, bullets ricocheting and nearby explosions booming across the area
As i Said, a new tank crew might be overwhelmed, but experienced crews wouldn’t be as affected. Besides, the a good Tank Commander, and the fact that you’re in a literal tank, can give the crew a morale boost of the fact they have the least mortality rate of any soldier in the battlefield, and that they can pretty much go wherever they want to, wreaking havoc on enemy lines
Except for areas with Anti-Tank mines, other tanks, terrain with a lot of ditches and holes, anywhere with too much smoke
One country has a tank, and the rest suddenly have hundreds, it was common for tank-on-tank combat in WWII
Especially in dense warzone areas, both crew have least mortality rate but that doesnt mean its low
Minefields are very easy to spot, so anti-tank mines weren’t so much for killing tanks as they were for making an area unreachable for tanks. Tank ditches could be solved by friend combat engineers. And areas with smoke were avoided by everyone, not just tanks.

The walls hold up the house, but just knocking down 1 wall wouldn’t take down the entire house, you would have to at least damage another wall
One wall go boom, sure house can stand, but when the rest of the house suffers a shockwave, debris flying through the rest of the walls, a fireball and then one wall gone, that can put enough stress on it to make it collapse

It can take any amount of time to lift anything up, take a rocket for example, it takes it 2 seconds to be 10 feet off of the ground already, an explosion sends things into the air faster than they can come down
It has to send them up faster, otherwise gravity would keep it down lol

Everything is a chemical reaction, an explosion can be caused by anything, fire can cause gun powder to go off, and a spark can make an engine start working again
At this point you might as well say if you detonate the tanks ammorack that might be enough to lift it into the air

I'm comparing how powerful an explosion can be, how far it can send something upwards, I also didnt say anything about a tank flipping I said about a tank being sent a foot into the air for half a second

Btw, when is Mirage coming back? My first battle was on that map and I got many memories there and I kinda miss it...
They reworked the map, I won't be the same as old one when it comes out.
Though I hope they keep the old one for training rooms and fun gamemodes where balanced maps doesn't matter(like Gravity mode)
balanced maps always matter; also no, they won't add maps just for TRs
Anything with as much objects and buildings as possible is balanced enough if it's in gravity mode and there are VK's zooming around
But I want to experience the old maps again, they look darn good and I like old mirage alot :(
the fact that you liked it doesn't mean that it was balanced, in fact Mirage gave a position advantage to the north spawn and also the desert part of the map was basically usless
I don't usually spawn on the north, plus I'm saying that I want it back even on training rooms only, or even just on tier 1-5 matchmaking
you spawn 50/50 in each spawn so idk what this statement was supposed to mean
And i repeat, wg won't add a map just for TRs, because the main use of TRs should be train for tournaments so there's no point adding there a map which isn't playable in tours

Hmm ok, well nobody really knows if they gonna drop new maps, or even drop the revamped Mirage and lost temple maps
I liked about the Lost Temple map. It had that eastern country style and on tournaments it was quite fun.
