They will never, they are allergic to putting even 2 trees near each other
they already tested weather features, and there were rumors that it was going to be implemented during the past summer, but at the end nothing has been done, probably because main servers aren't strong enough yet to support it
But were strong enough to handle 8 vs 8 on RU servers due to bugs with a gamemode
The servers will always be able to handle it, the questions is just at what cost and how the clients handle it

Under controls > mouse > disable automatic zoom. So now you can zoom in and out more comfortably with the mouse wheel.

Castillia is HELL for me in a tank that is only suitable for sidescraping (maus, e100, etc.). You get sniped from the meds very, VERY often. And im still wondering where mirage and that chinese map are. They said a temporary remove. Still after 1 year, no comeback. Seems like wg is lying. If im wrong, tell me i probably fell from the stairs and went KO for a year. Btw Fort Despair is also trash for me. Idk change my mind.
if you're getting sniped, i wouldn't push right up to the windmill or the c cap there, i would stay back in cover and force your opponents to make the mistake. Alternatively, you could go med side and sidescrape there, that works sometimes too

in pubs, you have two choices. Either win the southwest corner quickly and put the enemy in crossfire, or play super aggressive on the Northeast, and win it before your team loses control of your spawn and gets crossfired

South spawn has superior ruins positions. There's a few hulldowns they can play to bully away any north spawn tank in there, and also, south spawn tanks can easily just push underneath the A cap and just bully north spawn from the hulldowns there.
Those 2 facts force northspawn to play on the town side of the map, which also isn't viable because you can't push out of city, and everytime you peek, you get farmed
Well, tbh my last battle in Vineyard was a lost and I'm pretty sure I spawned in south. Ok, I was in a T49, so my team actually had a 6 vs 7 situation.
North spawn has a better encounter cap position and better defensive positions on the medium side where they can play hulldown. They also have an easier approach to their supremacy cap and can defend it easier
You can‘t play unspotted in the southern medium side ruins while you can do that from the northern side

alpenstadt spawns are unbalanced not because of the railway but because heavies going center can shoot the meds sniping for one spawn but not the other

Will WG fix Ghost Factory? The rail tracks amidst other obstacles that are taking your speed away are horrible on there
I guess its because they are real rail tracks and not just painted tracks like in the older maps. The 3D rail tracks do glitch unfortunately...
What are some things you consider before rushing mines hill? Also I've noticed more people are taking positions to shoot conventional safe spots on the hill, should I stop rushing hill then?

I usually end up getting to battle 2-3s after battle started so I don't bother, but when I do... I check for fast clippers and accurate derps, they usually take out most of the hp of hill rushers while they're exposed.
Don’t rush hill unless you know that you can safely
i like that a lot
When I'm in a heavy tank I surely go for the hill and my favorite thing is punishing who rushes with their medium tanks, but if I'm in a light tank or a medium one I prefer to don't even go to hill
I'm more useful with something agile, fast shooter and precise if I flank through the isle and remove bit by bit of the enemies HP shooting on their side

I wonder how Lost Temple looks like if it's flatter. The hilly terrain with the little bridges was quite nice. The new oasis palms is much flatter than the old one. Maybe Lost Temple will offer more sniper positions if it is flatter

I just don't rush hill anymore, I drive to the rock and wait for track shots (or for those are rushing hill friend or foe to be lit up)
Well, first thing is the enemy lineup
Might as well call the push off if they have faster tanks
Besides, rushing it is now hard; everyone is racing to be first
Tip: if your enemies have an Emil 1951 then it's not a good idea to rush.

I’m having major connection issues with Normandy, Hellas and ghost factory. Not worth playing as it crashes 3/4 times per game. Is it just me?

Close all applications, force restart the iPad, then open the game.
I have had to do that with my old iPad 3 and and my iPad 6 since they introduced iOS with multitasking (that seems to have memory leaks )
After the restart thing, gaming would be fine for a few days, then 1 crash and another and another.
Did not matter wotb, wowsb, or other games.

understandable it is probably one of the hardest map to play since heavies and meds side are not clearly separated and both can shoot at each others from distance, depend on the tank ur playing but when the team is splited i almost go middle near the center base behind bush to shoot heavies that are trying to cross and quickly go to med side if needed
rushing heavy side under bridge is a rewarding but if the enemy decide to rush you , u are done for and u have to take risk to get in there fast
mostly depends on your teams and enemies line up

In NL, we have two provinces - South Holland and North Holland. Holland on its own doesn't exist anymore, but we tend to let tourists call us that because money 😂

I know Japan and China weren't known for their tanks in ww2 (well, ever really), but I wish we had a little more oriental maps than just dynasty pearl, Yamato Harbor and the currently unavailable lost temple. Maybe a map based in Tokyo, Nanking, or okinawa

grindfest battles where nothing happens, and where lights and mediums are useless, TDs guard all chokes, making pushes painful etc
maps with an open med side and city for heavies (Vineyards, Middleburg, Alpenstadt) imo are not as bad as full city maps, but still horrid

this rock here pic 1, blocks your view. making it harder to shoot tanks coming from the other side, yes "go left" or something, but playing with other players and having to make way for the others to drive will get atleast one of your teammate can't shoot

I used to love middleburg, and loved going to town, but then when I reached 3k battles I learnt that EVERYONE hates town goers
This is going to be something of a hot take, but the reason why "city maps" are generally hated is because our "city maps" with the sole exception of Himmelsdorf are still mixed-type maps.
The problem with mixed types maps is that they make one side dominant making the city section completely worthless. If the entire map is urban, like Himmelsdorf, neither side is really dominant, and a purely urban map allows for more rotations and dynamic play, since buildings and streets allow you to close the distance more easily and safely, as opposed to open maps, which are usually more campy
Yes. A full city map pls. Maybe like a graveyard/cemetery lol, cuz we don’t really have a lot of night maps

There are still sidescraping opportunities in a lot of hulldown areas. And there are only a handful sidescrapers that don't do well hulldown
it's possible to hulldown on himmelsdorf too. so make some rubble piles in certain parts of the full city maps
Well I am not saying himmels is a bad map either but there is a reason why the heavy lane is purely superior. You can hulldown there vs mostly sidescraping positions available on rails
The game tends towards hulldown. Removing ability to hulldown on maps will just make it a bad map.
there's simply too many hulldown maps in this game. i know hulldown is a good strategy, but the better word to "tends toward" is "caters to hulldown". there needs to be more sidescraping maps, and show more love to the sidescraping tanks too, without giving the hulldowns somthing to cheer them up.
But on the original topic, I do honestly think there needs to be more oriental maps than the ones we have rn (including lost temple). I would like more urban maps but i'm good with any form of map that doesn't cater to the hulldown.
On mines if the enemy meds secure the top of the hill, I feel like if you’re a heavy on the hill you get screwed because if you try to go hull down over that hill the meds shoot you but if you look at the meds the heavies hit you. Any solutions to this issue?
Turn off encounter and play supremacy only. Problem solved.
On a serious note, it would firstly depend on spawn ig. If I remember the map correctly, the south has a more defensive cover from the heavies while having shots on the meds who captured the hill. You could alternatively fall back to the foot of the mountain and hope the enemies over extend to shoot you and get clapped by tds.
I got nothing for the north spawn. Your meds should have gotten the hill before unless they were simply too slow or bad. Best you can do is bait the enemies to over extend into your tds in spawn
If you lose the hill there are a few options
You can continue to keep them honest and hold them from pushing if you have td support
You can back down but wait to receive a push but if you want to win, your team has to flank through town
A variation is to hold your ground if someone is at the light house and gives support
You can run from the hill and full send town

Too many maps are "hulldown" maps. WG needs to make more maps that require different play styles. If they don't Blitz is gonna be like PC where the meta is hulldown and nothing else (Quickybaby made a video talking about this.)
Without variety everything becomes dull. That's why we play Blitz because there are so many different tanks with so many different play styles but if there aren't maps that can accommodate those play styles then only one type of tank becomes relavant.
There is a reason why the game tends towards hulldown. When you are hulldown, you can shoot back while enemies find it difficult to pen you. Even with paper turrets, hulldown reduces the profile while being able to shoot back.
Larger maps with more defined roles for support tanks are in order to cater for more playstyles
Well i think they just do it so the players can get used to it and they will know more about each maps. But New bay for me doesn't seem to be a hulldown map for me cuz there is so many buildings and there are a little bit of positions that are hulldown especially that small park.

Maybe create a circus map with little/no hulldown on ridge lines like mines. Sidescraping map would be more creative and Teaches players to use other skills rather than the old fashioned dull hulldown
Or a stunt racing track with 3 sections. The arena, spawn a and b outside of the oval arena situated on 2 corners of the map.
The arena could have a stunt display in the middle that allows you to climb very high

The annoying thing about Faust is the same problem a lot of maps have. In pubs, the A side dominates the lower ground on C/D, but on A, the nature of the positions harshly punishes the team that wants to make the first move.
So basically a lot of time is spent waiting around for either the enemy to make mistakes, or your teammates to take hits so you can swing out and push
In high play with decent players, the waiting around part is true in every map... But Faust does suck, same goes for Ghost factory(too much assymmetry)
The entire middle of the map is essentially worthless
It’s honestly a lot like middleburg, albeit not quite as bad
Ghost factory is only unfun because everyone seems to have this silly idea that you should go to the „medium“ side which is honestly just a glorified pit
It’s a pit, but you also need to win it because losing the pit means you lose the high ground roads leading to that pit. And losing those roads loses you the game
You like to overstate highground. Most teams cannot utilise it, and aside from that nothing stops you from crossing into the enemy spawn from the factory because the enemy will alway push into your spawn

Well they can't have 1 more park in a middle of a fishing port, and i like your idea on putting the park in the middle of a map but that will make all go to middle (maybe) cuz that is the only hulldown position for hulldown tanks in which meds will easily flank.

Ive been testing out where the LTG can drown and so far ive made it drown on: Vineyards, Canyon, Canal, Normandy, Mayan, Port Bay (Hard not to drown), Castilla, and even Ghost factory. Finally I feel like im playing WoT PC.

Don't just say "go left/right" A minute after it starts
Ofc calling should occur during countdown or seconds after the battle starts. Otherwise your super heavies or mediums will never listen as if they do now

in this game splitting is most likely synonymous of lost, unless u have a great player which carries one flank or the enemys do the same thing; i honestly prefer not to risk, and i always ask my team to go in specific map locations: rails on himmelsdorf (unless we don't have any medium/light), C on Mayan ruins (bridges near it are key), hill on Mines (taking the hill is basically auto-win), park on Dynasty's pearl etc
True, but on few maps such as Canal, Castilla and Deadrail, splitting up is needed to avoid ending up in a pincer/crossfire
sure, that's what keeps some map variety, if all maps were just an all-in side it would be quite boring
Faust is terrible in my opinion because:
- the C/D side has practically no shooting lines
- the A side is very awkward, the circular rook eliminates both sidescraping AND hull down, which makes it just people bleeding HP
- the middle is literally pointless, both the C/D side AND the A side can fire down at them while there is minimal cover
- generally the game kind of slows down on the C/D side because nobody wants to push into a small chokepoint.
- the A side, even when fully dominated by one team, has limited shots into the flanks of heavies camping the ramps on the C/D side, meaning the only useful thing to do would be to push the back of the opponents. Yet with the way the railing of the ramps were designed, it's impossible to do damage without taking damage. This combined with 1, means that the defender(even when flanked) is still favoured.
I think splitting is losing too. Cause if the other team pushes one side then that side of half your team is gone. In my opinion as lights with low penetration on a heavy lane you need to stay VERY passive until an opportunity opens up to flank or cap. Better do little damage than get sent back to the garage in 1 minute.
I think splitting is map dependent and also lineup to an extent. I feel like on Castilla and on dead rail you have to split but on other maps like rockfield you don’t
Also the map is very un-natural, and does not give player much of an option to do anything else but play the map in the way it was intended. Unlike a map such as Castilla or Canal where you can do many creative plays, Faust does not really have that option.
Its the same sort of thing with Naval Frontier where you cant do much outside of the actual design of the map... if that makes sense
And the lack of vegetation on both maps slims the possibilities down even more
I suppose there IS a hull down area on faust, but literally nobody uses it
Honestly in my opinion copperfield is actually great cause it has a medium lane and a heavy lane, not too big of a map, and TDs aren't gonna dominate. Although the middle is a great brawling area, so the map works for all tanks

Gameplay wise, yea the maps were not so good, either one side was dominant or the map is just very static due to strong sniping positions. But the old Desert sand kind of reminds me of steppes from WoT PC, with the hills on the edge of each spawn.

Because there are actual sniper tds (grille ofc) that can’t be frontline except certain situations, and since this looks like a heavily gun depression and side scraping map, and you can’t do either in the grille

How to become really good at Mines
use tanks with lots of gun depression
For any map, only use positions if you know you will be able to use it to its full potential; don’t use any position and disregard danger
So don’t just rush hill regradless of the match up, there is always an alternate

I have a medium myself and like which is the best place to cover in case I spot a KV-2
kv2 is inaccurate as hell, just try to make him fire (or bait him into miss going forward and backwards) and then farm him while he reloads (count the 20-22 seconds of reload after he fired so u know when it's time to hide again)

I don't think it's that hard or time consuming to upscale the textures of a map.
If they're short on people to do that, they should start using the money they get from gamblers and ads to increase their workforce.
Well they are the developers of the game.. And you don't even know if it's EZ to make a map or not or some other stuff. Usually it takes months for them to make a map.
They aren't making a new map, they just planting 3 cap points for Mirage, and god knows what for Lost Temple.
This isn't equal to Molendijk or the 2 or 3 map that got leaked/showcased and forgotten to time.

Yup, the two terrains are blocking the base point caps.
Put one cap below the waterfall's overhang, another smack center in the desert, maybe closer to the hill, so that people gotta go down it to fire at people there, and then put a third on more to the corner of the sea

it really depends on where your team goes, but (depending on the situation) you could push onto the front lines alongside some of the other tanks with decently strong armour

Many of the map's features lines up with those of mirage
there are some maps in the game which are, on the whole, quite similar to others ... we just tend to notice their differences more clearly once we get used to them, because we study them for the beneficial effects

When can you provide the realistic texture of the game? What we like is the realistic tank warfare, not cartoon-style tanks. Can you change the map texture-style in the game from cartoon_style to realistic style before doing pbr?
I'm pretty sure any 'cartoon style' textures you're talking about are not intentional/ just low res and would probably be solved with the introduction of pbr map textures.

I doubt they would be, Copperfield would be much more likely to get remove and revamped than Castilla, and Canal is younger than both of them
i think the greater diversity in terms of gameplay is beneficial. even if there’s a map that you dislike, or think should get removed, you will only come across it 3% or 4% of the time ... no big deal, there’s a good reason why skills that prove to be effective on one map don’t necessarily carry over or transfer themselves perfectly to the others

Yea, Forests haven't been explored enough in blitz. Forests are fun and scenic on PC, but it looks like blitz never touched on the idea, at least in battlemaps

I'm not so sure. There's more summer maps than desert and winter maps. Possibly combined. And then considering maps based on continent, they're easily almost all in europe with notable exceptions. Don't get me wrong, I know tanks mostly fought in europe

and tanks also generally did not fight in the desert. perhaps my personal inclinations are getting in the way of my sounder judgment, since the category of tanks that i usually play does not perform adequately without cover, which their customary dunes provide in an exceptionally limited capacity
The tanks i play live under cover, but terrain is irrelevant to the topic. WG can make their own twist on maps if they want, but it shouldn't hurt to make a map not set in europe

wg when will mirage and gravity come back
gravity probably in 8.9, Mirage and lost temple in 9.0 or smh, when wg will decide to start releasing HD maps
i wouldn’t be so sure about those dates. according to their historical schedule, you could probably deduce that the gravitational mode will be returning in 9.1 at the earliest, while “mirage” won’t be the first map with PBR and it probably won’t have it when it comes back initially, either. so i assume that those maps won’t make an appearance until this summer at least, but realistically they will be arriving in the fall, most likely

also keep in mind that there are several game modes in the game (7 to be exact) so obviously some time will pass between a mode and another, since there's an avarage of 2 gamemodes per update (about a month period)

if i remember my calculations correctly, there are approximately 0.3 special game modes made available each month, although the number has been steadily rising of late. remember that “burning games” is still due to return before gravity does, while mad games, realistic mode, and uprising should be coming around the same time (who knows, even “big boss” could grow into it, as well)

It's interesting if they made realistic an official mode like a permanent one
There was a flaw in the mode tho since not every person had equal strength because of on player being the boss if you had a bad player as your boss you were almost sure to loose.
we collected a dataset which showed that the boss with fewer HP was likely to win ... tank destroyers are the strongest class, followed by medium tanks, while their lightest counterparts performed the worst
Cause the lightest tanks always get yeeted to death

The main thing I find it useful for is it's ability to load specific shots from replays into armour inspector so you can see exactly how something hit/penned I stead of relying on the dodgy in game markers

tds don't really fit anymore in any map unless u play aggressively (apart from few exceptions like Dead Rail, which is the best td map in the game imo), because they aren't really part of the current meta
Vineyards is a great map, every place on that map is useable
Canal and Castilla are also nice for TDs, a lot of climbs, same would be the case for Port Bay if they didnt patch the whole place with invisible walls.

Could work but I see that peninsula area just not being used at all, the lake blocks it off from the rest of the map making it essentially useless unless you put a bridge or two across it
Basically it makes it so that only 2/3rds of the map is playable

I made a thing in paint with the use of the peninsula, granted the place probably wont be too busy, but I imagine if one team leaves the place open, it will bite them in the rump. Also yea the neck of the lake is very shallow, though the lake itself is drownable.

I want this map back. In my opinion it should also be available for X teirs as it used to be. The map is very good, well-balanced and WG takes it and the mine map which is the worst map in the game is still available and for X tiers what is absurdity
please keep in mind if it does come back it will look different than it used to. same with mirage

No lately they have been making maps smaller, black goldville and winter malinovka are old and larger than new maps like ghost factory and molendijk

Yep it’s sad but blitz nowadays is leaning more towards “blitz” style game play instead of old style world of tanks gameplay. I also prefer how they used to do it.
Yea, one of the reasons i like this game is because its not internet dependant and i can still play quite well with 400+ ping on the larger maps.

Can anyone Coach me on hulldown for the conqueror or e75 lol I'm decent with them but exp gain is so bad when playing with bad players and na server has good players but can't play in teams well

Don’t go hulldown with the e75 only go hulldown with the conq if you have good hp
I don't with e75 I side scrape that still doesn't stop my trash team work issue
The moment you realize the E75 has 8 degrees of gun depression and can easily hulldown
The moment you realize you have 0 turret armour and will get heat spammed at you and lose all your hp
You gave a decent amount of turret armor, and exposing less of your tank is always better

wg is already working on that, we'll probably see bigger maps in around 1 year (1.0.0 update imo)
They don't have to make the maps bigger, just give them good elevation differences; don't make every map flat, to make the map feel bigger. Sort of like Castilla, which is actually smaller than Yamato harbour, but feels bigger.
not really, in 8/10 situations light can't spot cause they will be outspotted, sometimes they can spot without getting spotted but only on few maps
They should just put the amount of vegetation they used to put in maps, of course you will get spotted scouting through a barren map. You need lots of bushes to do what you can do in WoT PC.

No it’s not at least for high tier because we get nuked by everyone in heavy side or spawn
Ima say it right now, heavy side is underestimated, it’s really good because if everyone goes heavy side and the other team goes med side and it’s supremacy we get 3 caps for free and they only get 1 which is A so it’s easy to just hold and wait for the push and good comp teams use it to their advantage by at least speed capping D and whatever the other cap is for spawn

Wargaming should create more maps dedicated twords side scraping and angling rather than hull down. This will keep the game more active and dynamic.

if you're talking about selecting certain maps to not include in battle those aren't coming anytime soon
select the icon on the right side of the battle button and select your battle mode of choice
for random battles you can also deselect either encounter or supremacy
Sidescraping is for noobs, tanks dont work in urban environments
sidescraping isn't just limited to urban environments
if you do it correctly you can use anything to sidescrape

Even though it is reasonably possible to side scrape within a hulldown environment. I have to respectfully disagree with your comment.
Reason being if you playing an tank like the IS-4. It is going to get clapped by hulldown meta comp tanks such at the yoh, TP-60, and Super Conqueror.
My analogy may not be the best but I hope you can understand my perspective.

Question, when can we get a Berlin-style map, with craters from bombs scattered around the map and nothing but buildings all around, and narrow pathways for lights or mediums to travel through, and some spots for TDS to have a line of sight along a large main road running through the middle

It’s completely dependent on how the map is designed; a large amount of foliage on dynasty’s pearl would still have the map as a brawly one
The only good use of trees and bushes is to prevent you from getting spotted and sniping so no use in close combat.If there were bushes and trees while you are fighting close to a tank its just annoying.now if there is a lot of bushes at the back.it will just be a mines map where winning depends on tds.
