For the Kv1, 122mm or 85mm gun ?

The 122mm is unreliable but packs very good damage
its features similar stats as a "derp gun" means very inaccurate and low pen but very good alpha damage
the 85mm is much more reliable, its more accurate and has access to higher pen premium rounds but it has a pretty unimpressive alpha damage

generally derp gun, like the 122 struggle alot when shooting on distance or sniping small weakpoints, ideally you want to mainly face unarmored tanks, tanks with big weakspots or sides of tanks in a close range so they are a easy target

derp guns can be fun to use but have huge downsides, I would recommend the 85mm performance wise since its more flexible

if memory servs right the units embowing that winged emblem for the hussars, would be official militants, but the groups embowding the polish people's red eagle crest, would belong to a partisan type group integrated into the army...must be some thing to be of non military background for say the majority of the duration of the war then be placed inside an IS-2, which to be fair from the outside is nice and mighty, but inside pretty much like any soviet suffocating box

wonder how thick this particular area is given the repeated his it should receive by anti tank gun fire, given the fact it is the driver area, too many accounts say that soviet drivers would face certain demize due to the hatches being bent shut, the extensions to pull up the hatches would be tight shut after impact as they are at times bent entirely on impact, I presume this tank would think of a very good counter measure as now its quite literally in the centre of it all

if you talk about battles in general like Total battles in you account it's really very from person to another
like I got my first t10 on my account within 1k battles because I focused on one line

tho I'd say nowadays ×3/×5 xp, premium days, boosters, free xp can help a lot

I deliberately stopped my progress at T8 to learn the maps, etc.
I saw that for the 50TP, you need 95K XP to unlock the gun and turret.
I'm thinking of saving the 95K free XP so that the tank isn't stored.
Is this a good strategy?

Sconq is a lot more forgiving and overall more reliable armor if you make mistakes, while chieftain u can get crazy farm damage with HESH and better mobility in comparison

I played 3 games stock and 1 game with the top gun. 2 degs of gun dep on the stock gun and 4 degs on the top paired with awkward mobility and meh armor. Camo is one of the best in T8 though

I just sort of drive around and shoot stuff, and I guess you have to plan ahead a lot harder to play a casemate

For things like the tortoise and isu yes, not so much for At-15 and jpanther2. Anything that is slow or team dependent needs more planning or coordination. Exceptions are super armor tanks

SU-101 has the BL-10 syndrome so good luck hitting anything other than tracks

40km/h speed with 14 km/h average reverse is decent and it turns quickly (around T-34-2 quick). Stock goes at 25-30 forward and turns fast as AMX M4 45

how do you play the wolverine? it feels like a downgrade from the m8a1 because it's so slow and unmaneuverable. it's too lightly armored to play like a heavy because I can't even poke out without being destroyed, and too unmaneuverable to play like a medium because I just get circled by other mediums. if I try to snipe then all the enemies just pop up on the other side of the map, then I have to chase them down, then I get the problems with the heavy/medium gameplay

the gun is barely different from the sherman/t1 but the platform is so much more difficult to use

I noticed the newer TDs have more armor than a heavy, meanwhile the wolverine has both less armor and less mobility than a medium

Something about normalization makes APCR have less penetration in practice
But from gameplay experience dunno if this is actually part of APCR but it ALWAYS gets stuck on sideskirts and tracks and never actually pens
Especially on heavies with thick sideskirts like E-100 or something like Type 71 it’s always track crit never a pen

Shell normalization as far as you should care is the angle at which the shell decreases the effective angle of an armor plate that it hits. For a 200mm plate hit at 60 degrees:
AP with 5 degrees of normalization will encounter an effective angle of 55 degrees, 349mm to pen
APCR has 2, so it encounters an effective angle of 58 degrees, 377mm to pen
HEAT and HE do not normalize, so they deal with 400mm to pen

chinese medium gun depression is hard to work with for me, but I figure if you're that far up the tree, you're used to it already? if not, maybe it's good to keep practicing in the lower tiers, not sure

I just find it harder to play without gun depression with mediums than heavies because I try and take some sort of tricky firing position with mediums, while I just drive forward and brawl in the middle of the map with heavies

tempted to get super conq from store ive been saving gold but its frustrating because it doesnt come with equipment slots....
When I bought my 121B a couple years ago I saved up gold forever and it came with all its equipment slots
15000 / 16500 gold isnt cheap and literally it not having equipment slots is putting me off from buying it because grinding credits is not fun and I have a couple other tier Xs I need to buy first from tech tree

also the 5x it came with were able to be used on any tank and not just the 121B....ugh

Exactly! It is excellent at circle of death and delivering killing blows from behind, either sneaking up or flying in really fast. I found I rarely had problems with the KV line, always able to out maneuver their slow turret and keep their gun pointed away from me while peppering them to death. Just note, many "heaviums" and even some slow heavies still have a turret that can keep up with you if you have to circle them on a hill.

I think hunting and killing is always first, but you also have to remember lots and lots of guns out there can 1-shot the MT, so always be on the hunt rather than hiding, but be smart

hmm and do you like to move around or be the rock to hold off people? Go for something like E50M medium line for great sturdy medium that can be aggressive. For heavies, you should probably try the russian heavy tanks since they're somewhat fast but have good armor.

For aggressive TDs, the 268 is absolutely amazing but the new Tšekkoslovakian TDs might also be of interest for you. I haven't played them myself but they reward you with higher damage per shot the closer you are to the enemy

the FV215B line could also perhaps be pretty nice for aggressive playing although the tier 8 and 9 tanks aren't perhaps the best examples. I haven't played the early line in years but black prince used to be amazing

ok so lets start with the panthers. The panther 1 is great at being a little bit more aggressive, you have massive DPM but you need to wait for opportunities to get to use it. Track people and keep the tracked. Don't expose your lower plate if you can avoid it.

Panther 2 is awful, I never liked it but treat it as a support tank. You are a worse panther basically, you should avoid 1v1 situations but if you get into one, face hug the other person and go for rams since your tank is heavier than usual mediums. Play a bit more defensive

Centurion has amazing DPM but it's a very bad example of a medium tank. Play it the same as panther 2, except you can use your turret better for hulldown situations. Try to track people with your gun and out DPM them with your fast reload.

Russian heavies are both very different at tier 8. IS 3 is a fast heavy tank with a good turret. Use your speed to get into good hull down positions were your lower plate is covered. Your gun hits hard but reload isn't the fastest, keep that in mind.

KV-4 has nice armor when you angle it, try to wiggle between like 60-45 degree angle to try to bounce enemies. You are a side scraper that can hold a line well, but try to not get flanked.

The Russian TD lines are very different. The line leading to Obj268 is a frontal assault line first and foremost in MY PERSONAL OPINION. You have amazing guns once you reach the BL-10 gun on the ISU. It's smooth walking to tier 10 after that since you pen everything. With ISU you should play as a sniper at the beginning and then use the fast speed of the tank to change position or attack depending on the game.

The 263 line is difficult for a beginner and even me as a veteran struggled with it so much, that I gave up and free xpd it. You have great DPM on all of those tanks, but hardly no armor (aside from the 263 itself) so try to flank and help the mediums with it

Heavy tank destroyers-play like heavies

High alpha massive amour and slow t8 and 9 of e100 line are boring than the 60tp but overall 60tp is just better the e 100 is a classic supheav tank

Overall decent armour, good gunhandling, decent alpha, okay-ish dpm

E100 itself is the generic superheavy except its gun - good players usually use the 12,8cm cannon as it has good dpm - especially for a superheavy

60TP grind (starting at t8) is really decent, 53TP is super good, 50TP is okay.

60TP itself is also pretty easy to play, superheavy with decent alpha but poor gunhandling armour profile is good against bad players - bad against good players

The turret armor is insane, the gun is one of the better heavy guns and it has quite a bit of mobility

The only thing it’s really lacking is turret traverse, which does hold it back in some situations, but can be worked around with positioning

Instead of making KPZ 70 tier 10 why don’t they just add MBT-70 or XM803 as a separate tank and have that be tier 10 (the American version of Kpz 70)
