never has been good, low alpha means u constantly have to expose urself for ur dpm, lack of gd + no turret makes it very inflexible, and although the armor got buffed, its an annoyance at best

foch is a better aggro td with the 560x2 clip, 268/hori better for peeking around corners, pre nerf grille for the dpm and turret flexibility
heck even shotgun 183 is better, not to mention 268v4 which is straight up better at 263s face tanking role

If you do say half damage with splash then you have around 1400dpm guaranteed, and when the KV1S only has 1560dpm that's not far off. Add that to not having to aim at all it makes it a slow KV1S. Then add on the 960 potential and it becomes immensely better. You could stay close to guarantee your shot pens which is entirely doable, especially with the fear factor of the red not being able to assume the shot will splash, or you can sit back and hope, and if it goes wrong every single time you are still an adequate performing tank.

It has much larger alpha and dpm tier for tier, a full turret and some armour, as well as having prammo. There is pretty much no counter apart from hope the red driving it is significantly worse than you. You can't rush it because of its insane effective dpm, you can't outtrade it because it literally doesn't have to aim to deal more damage than you, you can't out dpm it. Your only option is to catch it in a crossfire with two tanks or avoid it, and any time the solution to a tank is "have more greens and outnumber it", you have yourself an overperforming tank.

Armour at tier 6 is generally pretty bad so you'll only splash for less than around 350 if you hit a gun or something, and I was talking about the actual effective dpm not the minimum splash dpm you will get

If I wanted effective dpm on a KV-2 I’d probably just use a 107mm. It might not deal as much damage per hit but can actually pen something

The 152 also has about the worst accuracy in the game so effective dpm is kind of a gamble, and playing close quarters in a tall, slow and poorly armored tank with twenty seconds of reload to try hitting more shots is quite a risky option aswell

Playing the distance game is literally just sitting back in a useless spot, giving up all map control. Heavy tanks again lose trades. You can hope that maybe it'll miss, but that is entirely and totally unreliable and not a feasible counter in the slightest. Again, 960+2850dpm is not a meme in the slightest.

@hollow belfry Long reload but still great dpm means it's really not risky. Effective dpm is how fast the KV2 can kill things, there's several ways to look at it, but alpha/clip potential+dpm is the most useful. The KV2s effective dpm is around four times tier 6s hp. Compare that to tier 10 where most things are kinda balancedish, and you get tanks with effective dpm being about 2.5x normal hp being amazing damage dealers

And with great HE pen, penning isn't generally an issue. If you don't pen, you still get plenty of damage and will win practically any trade, even against the Arls upper plate it'll still do over 300dmg, and that's assuming the reds can face the KV2 at all times in the worst possible scenario. Medium range is useless because the KV2 will still hit, especially if you are going to try aim at the KV2 and not just snap and hope. It has a very large mantlet which eats plenty of shots, so it definitely has armour, and again the "just focus it" argument just shows how overpowered it is.

Oh and did I mention that this is all worst case scenario, with the KV2 going exclusively against heavies frontally? And it still performs adequately.

The 152 works against anything at all, it's best against people that expose badly but even if they don't make mistakes it still works

Sides of the turret are autobounce and the turret is pretty thin frontally, especially for the size of the tank. The 1S needs to aim to get the 400 alpha in, and cannot do anything better. The KV2 doesn't need to aim to get the 400 in, and can do twice as good. The mobility of the 1S is generally not particularly useful either because it's bad at pushing.

You see a med or TD? You win. You see a heavy not focused fully on you? You win. You see a heavy fully focused on you? You do average. Why wouldn't you call that overperforming?

Supposing part of your tank is not hidden by that destructible cover, it also means you could eventually try to shoot the KV-2 without hitting said cover. On the other hand, the KV-2 isn’t quite a laser that will always be able to snap the exposed part. Even if that cover only protects you from one shot, it is still a whole 20 seconds. And that effective dpm turns into effective sanity damage

I used to spam the KV-2 a lot as a newer player and whilst the accuracy is abysmal, it did help that it was tier 6 and many enemies either have predictable movement or literally just park their tank in front of you, expose their sides unnecessarily etc..

There are no positions I can think of at all that have soft cover, at the right height for tanks to go hulldown using, that look somewhere useful, that aren't in the open. Chances are I have forgotten a position or two, but having two positions that counter a KV2, assuming someone else doesn't shoot the soft cover, assuming someone hasn't driven over it already, and only providing pretention from HE, and only for one shot... It ain't looking too good is it?

if u want an actually good td, get a 268 or hori

and btw jg really only does 750 alpha, it consistently low rolls

buffs didnt fix the weaknesses of the jg, aka its huge, poor mobility, and flat armor that gets lolpenned by pramo
ig now u wont get owned by med pramo, but everything else is still going to lolpen

and if u think the 750 alpha thing is a lie or just bad rng, its consistent with many ppl, and even if u check hrf's vid he claims the same thing

havent played it after 9.1, but tbh looks like a nerf, they buffed aim time and dispersion on traverse, but nerfed the min dispersion. jg had a pretty accurate gun for its caliber, and now its going to be harder to hit smaller targets

regardless it was a horrible td anyways because its big and slow, press 2 and armor gone

Grinding tier 7 is the most impossible thing on the world. I am stuck on the t34 100 and i cant grind anything, even in uprising i constantly EVERY time have to face tier 8. I cant pen anything, everything can pen me and do massive amounts of dmg also my ammorack gets damaged a lot and the t34 100 catches fire too much. And i have to face some of the most op tanks in the game (ie prog 46, chimera, defender mk1 and many more). Ik im not the best but tier 7 has a matchmaking problem i feel like. But cmon i get uptiered less in my chimera than some tier 7

Could be because people like to play tier 8 a lot more, given the majority of premium tanks are there. As a result, tier 7 often gets up-tiered
