The point is that WG has to make MM fair, regardless of what the players are queuing up in.
If they required 2 heavies and 2 meds on every team, everybody would be kicking up a storm about TDs taking forever to get in a game. And then when they change the MM bias to make TDs and lights more numerous, all the heavy mains are gonna complain that they can't get in a game now.

WG doesn't directly "control" team comp, they just make sure the players can't flood every match with one class every time a new tank or TT branch drops. The "7 heavies on one team" comment wasn't an accusation, it was an intentionally absurd example intended to show you how ridiculous the "team comps are entirely WG's fault" stance is

You realize wargaming changed max TD team limits during the Polish TD update to 4 max per team cuz of the obvious surge in TD players? This limiting control of max tanks per team is said control and note how i specifically said "mm limits" and i guess you're new? Cuz rn the most prevailing talking point and issue is 3TDs per team, you can even see it in the image, this causes a campfest and reduces the total HP pull

Putting a limit to the total number of TD in a match has nothing to do with forcing each team to get a required number of each class. Tank destroyers by having objectively a lot more firepower and less HP is problematic considering the way maps are designed, and as such there is no point in trying to extrapolate this demand by mocking more extreme solutions nobody asked for

Also most competent players want it to be a 2TD limit, or a hybrid solution of matching heavy TDs with heavies (not a great solution though since they still camp anyways) and i don't know how you got the idea of team comp meaning forcing there to be a certain number of tanks per game? This might sound repetitive, but I think it's time Blitz fixed the matchmaking! Players in tier 10 are kamikazes, they don't know the maps, or they just kill themselves in the first river or lake they see. They don't know how to use tanks, and more than half the team hasn't even reached 5,000 battles. And by sheer coincidence, the opposing team is full of serial killers! I've been playing this game for eight years, and I've gone from 59% to 51%. I've never complained before, but this is just ridiculous!
