Probably because she said in an interview: “I graduated drama school and then got this job ... I was learning a lot as I went”. Also doubt a lot of people watched those shorts - which were both school productions (or noticed her in Gentleman Jack/Outlaws). It is definitely her big break

So after watching ANH again, the line in episode 9 about rewriting history after Mon is saved by Cassian but then handed off to gold squadron hits a bit harder. I know it’s not intentional since ANH was filmed so long before all this but no one celebrates the fallen heroes, or even the ones like Vel and Kleya who survived, just Han, Luke and Chewie
So Cassian’s contributions are all kinda lost in the “look we have a shiny new Jedi” narrative
Kinda like how they all seemed to have forgotten he was the one to rescue Mon, and he had to throw that in Bail’s face during one of those meetings how the last time he saw Luthen was when Luthen had him rescue Mon

My immediate thought is that Luthen admits he “uses the tools of his enemy to defeat them”.
This means not only might Luthen be similar to Thrawn on a moral level (in terms of actions they are willing to take) but also that (like Thrawn) Luthen studies his enemies in order to defeat them.

Finally finished Andor quite a while ago and one of the things I said half way through Season 1 was how Andor really excels at expanding what Star Wars can be, the locations you can see, the tones you can have, that Andor truly shows that Star Wars is not just a story about Jedi and Sith and good vs evil, but a sandbox where those are elements but not the whole picture. It shows how diverse Star Wars can be, it really scratched that itch I've had for a while in terms of exploring SW's depths, I should definitely watch Skeleton Crew as well because it sounds like it would scratch a similar itch.
