also figured out i may potentially have a broken build late game core strenght with 2.2 mil and an expertise 30 st elmo could potentioally put me at 144k damage with 2.2 mil armour which i think is just insane

Simply put, character models in this game are atrocious, cosmetic fit onto said character models is also abysmal, and the selection is completely lacking compared to not only Div1 but also other comparable ubisoft 3rd person military shooter games, wildlands, breakpoint. On top of that, the mechanics surrounding the cosmetics in the game like the apparel cache and the textiles currency is awful.

The devs also rely too much on single piece outfits that leave you zero personalization options either by hiding the worn gear or not offering any compatibility with other cosmetic pieces. Div1 had like a bazillion outfit sets that you could mix and match and never had you restrained. they also offer zero color variations to any of the cosmetics which in this day and age even back in 2019 is kinda braindead.

Masks don't fit the character heads, too big, not lined up with eyesight, almost all of them can't be worn with hats(unlike div1) which unfortunately also do not fit character model's head at all, same with goggles

scarves not being compatible with many of the outfits as well is enraging

I know it's different studios and leadership and ambitions and what not, but it still boggles my mind how the devs completely butchered this aspect of the game meanwhile div1 had already a very solid formula with both mtx and free options, as well as other games like wildlands and breakpoint which both have vastly superior cosmetics and customization options, especially breakpoint given it was pretty much a knockoff division game at release.

I definitely agree on the single piece outfits, or just character skins is what they are really. Also on the masks. They seem to be all over the place. I was so excited to get the Bug mask from div1 I actually paid real ass money, and it turns out to be awful. The mask part is gigantic and goofy and makes the back/top of your head look weirdly tiny. It only looks good with a hood, and that obfuscates like 70% of it. Unlike literally every other throwback mask they did, you cannot wear a hat with it. Combining a helmet with it in div1 looked amazing

I don't really have any problems with the character model though, or the way stuff fits (aside from masks as mentioned)

My personal pet peeves are that they make almost any kind of headwear into a "mask" now even when it's blatantly just a hat, or eyewear, which means you usually can't combine it with anything.

Also probably in the minority here but I hate the forced single strap backpacks. This is a bit more complicated than the hood, but I think it should also be a toggle between single and double straps. Frankly a LOT of the bp models look absolutely ridiculous as single strap. In div1 backpacks were all relatively uniform in size so that worked okay, but having some giant rucksack with an lmg dangling off it at a 45 degree angle hanging on by a single nylon strap looks completely asinine

I think it's pretty safe to say that RP plays a big part when it comes to fashion, and is therefore an important factor to consider, and I like to RP on the more realistic side of things most of the time.

textiles are dumb, make everything purchasable with textiles but make it a very high price, like 2k minimum

The Finals pvp shooter does exactly that, everything is purchasable with real money or in game credits, in game credits take a long freaking time to get so the time invested compensates for the money not spent

to the eyes of the shareholders, because obviously ideally you give a wide array of customization unlocked through challenges like Space Marine 2, that way the player is incentivized to play the game to earn the specific cosmetic they want. But of course in the big 26 that's not gonna happen and we get mtx slop

The tricky thing is that they can't just "bring back" outfits, they'd need to be re-made from scratch, same as anything from other collabs, due to an engine issue with the games.

I cant tell you how many arguments I got into with shit like that with Destiny. The second I saw they were bringing stuff into the first game, I cried wolf and said "They're gonna bring back most of it. If they do 1 raid, they're probably doing them all since they're so popular and iconic" and I got an egregious amount of backlash from people.
