One of my former clans used to have Teaching Discovery Raids that anyone with any build could join.

This was one of the prerequisites before you could join in a normal clan raid. Another was that you needed to have a 6 red core build with >=50 CHC and >=150 CHD for Dark Hours.

Depends on the raid cause for DH definitely prefer DPS builds but for IH definitely Heal+Tanks because otherwise you end up sitting there for hours waiting for someone to speak up who has the build but just doesn't want to play it lmfao. Most are more than happy/willing to teach someone how to do those roles if they don't know how as long as they're willing to learn and have the necessary build.

The only bad about EB is lacking damage talent. That's it. It has good stats, i think best base damage among ARs, but no damage talent. So you ending up loosing up to 30%WD with in-sync, or up to some % aplified damage with ranger, optimist etc etc

in PvP it compensated by granting you good defensive talent, but in PvE, especially in full red builds, the only good defence is better offence (which EB is lacking)

Yeah in PVE I run my EB with the striker shield and then the Vector SBR 9mm because it fits my play style in a sense that I can get close to enemies and proc my shields 11% damage bonus

the time it takes to complete the raids generally depends on how experienced the team is but to give you an estimate IH will usually take anywhere from 40 min - 1 hour and 20 min. DH can take anywhere from 20 min - 45 min on average

the Foundry Bulwark and Future Initiative chest pieces and backpacks are exclusive to the Iron Horse raid and can be found from the loot dropped from the bosses if it is your first raid of the week and the chest at the end which requires 5 keys to open (weekly reset is every tuesday)

Obviously depends on a group. I have no problem with beginner or 2 if they follow instructions. Things is still when you are getting into a group of 8 that you dont know and have no knowledge of game mode itself getting into it with some respect for people you are playing with is nice. Raids arent supposed to be done at that level. Can they be done? Sure but thing is there are other 7 people with you there everything is easier when people can do their job right

How long do u guys think does it take for my first DH clear? If I want to have every encounter explained to me and know all the mechanics by the end?

On PC there used to be guys that explained in detail for 20 mins each encounter, but now usually someone will explain your role and what you need to do, so 30 seconds to 2 minutes on each encounter. With a new person, its normally 30 mins to 2 hrs depending on how strong the team is.

Just get the general mechanics understood from watching videos and then when you join a lobby say you are new but know the general mechanics

There are videos on YT that'll go into detail for every section of DH. No one expects a new raider to memorize everything but it'd be good to have some idea. The raid lead will likely give you a brief rundown of your task.

Best thing to do is to bring a full-DPS build. If there isn't a healer on the team or if you feel you're dying too easily, make sure to have an Unbreakable chest or Memento backpack.

The only expectation raiders have of you are: kill things, don't die.

Also, I recommend doing the raid a few times, get exposed to it, and learn a few of the mechanics each time. It's a huge drain on ppl's time to teach you every mechanic in one raid.

Honestly (imo) you're trying too hard if you want to understand everything by the end of your first clear. At that point you're at the mercy of the group you are with. Real understanding comes from multiple clears while actually playing those positions.

I'm a "learn to crawl before walking" person. Don't be a hero. Do your job until you master it and then move on to a new job. I.E. there is no need for you to know how to kite boomer or run drones on your first clear, since you'll likely be on Ad control or a generator. Explaining that is a waste of time until you know the basics (how to guard a door, hit computers,etc). Maybe after a couple clears it's time to graduate. You're also splitting your learning between multiple groups so you can learn what strats you like as well as building a network of players.

Just keep an eye out in the lfg channel for someone saying LF(x) (looking for x number of players) RV(x) (raid voice channel x) DH (dark hours)/IH (iron horse). When you see a group with open spots just jump in and ask who you need to add, then add them on uplay. Make sure your name in the discord channel matches uplay.

I mean, destiny and division are two different games. Just cause you’ve raided in destiny doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll know the div raids well. If you’ve only done the raids 3 times, I’m not so sure you can accurately assess whether or not the group is “good” or not. You probably just happened to have newer raiders in your group which made it a little harder to get through. Keep in mind the average experienced lfg group for IH on average takes anywhere between 45min-1hr+ and about half that range for DH (about 20min-35min). You didn’t specify which raid(s) nor how many hours it took to complete the three raids you were in but when you have newer raiders in the group, it’ll typically take nearly double those times.

Perhaps it’s more of a console thing as I see you’re on Xbox/PS4 but it’s fairly easy to group 8 experienced people together on PC and people seldom leave. I’m on PS5 as well as PC and from what I’ve noticed, you’ll have a far better time raiding in the division if you look for the little community servers as opposed to the official division server when it comes to raiding on console.

No source. Simple statistics. I completed about 1200 raids in total which means 4 bosses per raid equals 4800 and if you take that 1% theory to test that would be on average 48 raid exotics from raid bosses themselves. With that being said I saw few exotics dropping from raid bosses. Something like 6-7 but never got EB or any other raid exclusively drop from boss. Either that 1% is completely wrong which makes more sense or I’m insanely unlucky

Keep in mind you'll only have a chance at the exotics in the first run of the week, so it won't be x/1200 runs, it will be less. But I still think 1% per boss has always sounded quite high to me. I've gotten 2 ebs in DH but I don't think I've gotten any ravs (from bosses not crates) in a roughly equal amount of runs. No idea how many of those were "fresh" runs, but I'm still no where close to 1% per boss, and definitely don't see it dropping often enough for others to think it's 1%. It's hard to argue with data mined info, but that data mined info was likely done quite awhile ago and could likely have been adjusted since then.

Keep in mind that exotic materials are a common drop amongst razorback drops, and I would imagine that's part of the 1% chance, those doesn't usually show up as part of the pick up so they might be glossed over.

Just keep an eye out in the lfg channel for someone saying LF(x) (looking for x number of players) RV(x) (raid voice channel x) DH (dark hours)/IH (iron horse). When you see a group with open spots just jump in and ask who you need to add, then add them on uplay. Make sure your name in the discord channel matches uplay. Let people know your new so they can explain what you need to do and what your role is for each boss. Most people have no issues walking people through for the first time as long as your upfront about it.

Hey guys, pretty new to the game. Just finished the main campaign, DLC, and Summit. I've put about 100 hours into the game, and I'm looking for some groups to help me learn the raids so I can get the Regulus.

Have a red dps build ready with ideally at least 50% chc, and 150% chd. Then keep an eye on the lfg raid chat and just find a RV channel that has an empty spot and just let people know your new.

Make sure you have either a DPS build or heals build ready to go, both would be good. When you get into the party, make sure they know your new to raids, and make sure it’s okay they carry you. Hours don’t matter when it comes to raids, raids are much different from the main shit. Moving on from that, I recommend you start on Dark hours and learn that raid first, it’s much easier, and takes 20-30 minutes with a group who knows what they are doing. Iron horse is much harder and has many more mechanics. Iron horse will take you anywhere from an hour to an hour 1/2. Be prepared.

You don't want to go into your first raid with only a healer build. You will be dead weight for certain parts, and having raid experience is pretty important for the role. Plus you won't have the FI chest which is a key part of the build.

Hello, I got a question about crafting blueprints. I have a few blocked at my crafting station. It says "Operation Dark Hours". I have completed this raid a total of 4 times so far. What am I doing wrong?

I believe its a guaranteed drop from each of the first 3 bosses in DH each week until you get them all. The BP is random but its one that you haven't already got. So just keep doing DH once a week [after the reset] until you get all of them.

At the moment i have a full red crit (which could work for dps), a healing build, a status effect/add clear (if thats needed) and now im just wondering what else i should do to prepare?

For your first clear you should have a decent dps build. My rule is if you can hold your own in a 4 man heroic. that build should be good enough to carry you through the raid. Skill builds are not good choice at least not for your first completion so keep that in mind.

Just last boss farm. 4 phase only takes ~8.5min. So say it takes 3.5 mins to loot and reinvite everyone, that is 8 people opening the box every 1 hr.

But nowadays almost everyone has the EB and don't want another, so new players will most probably get it if they run the raid several times.

Also like the guys before said, doing more raids is useful. You become a better team player and a better player, not just in raids.

The absolute best method with randoms is just to hop on over to #lfg-raid-console and join a team, ask the group to drop an EB if they get one,
90% of teams will be happy to, as the Raid is quite old and most players already have one.

As someone who’s done Destiny raids and moved onto Div 2 raids, I can say that, quite frankly, Div 2 raids need a hell of a lot more prep and experience.

I have done both Destiny Raids and Div 2 raids. Destiny raids have more mechanics and Div 2 requires more load out build. Both of the have good raids just a little different approach

As for Div2 I prefer IB raid as it requires more build variety as DH raid is a pure DPS raid

The Raids being one require a stupid amount of brain power to figure out, i honestly have no idea how people managed to figure out the puzzles for IH
Another being the Hunter Puzzles. Kuddos to the 3000 IQ people on reddit who figured it out back in the day, it takes fantastic map knowledge and memory just to know where all the pieces are, let alone figuring out what piece goes where. and then theres time gating on top of that

They are expected. Other builds are used for specific roles, but as your learning the only build you'll need is the standard crit dps build. If you join a raid as a beginner with only a tank or skill build then there will be some sections where you'll not be contributing much to the team

hey yall o/ i'm relatively new to div2 and would like to get into raiding, i'd say i'm relatively experienced with raids in shooters (having played the raids in warframe when they existed and taking newbies through destiny 2's raids for a long time) so i'd like to head straight for the raid experience. what should i be aiming for to be "raid ready"? i am currently mostly running solo and i have not really looked much into builds yet.

There's a pinned spreadsheet in #td2-build-advice with a bunch of different builds. You wanna go for the Full Metal Jacket one first, which is an all-red DPS build. However, since you're still in World Tier phase, you might wanna go through that first because your gear will constantly outdate itself as you progress, becoming less and less useful. Same goes for the Warlords DLC (if you have it), since it increases the level cap from 30 to 40 and all the gear you acquired up until that point in DC will essentially be obsolete.

Well, technically not. However, Level 40 is where the "real" endgame is at and you can only reach that with the DLC. Apart from that, the DLC introduced a couple new brand sets like Empress, Ceska and Grupo, which are great for skill and DPS builds.

Yes but it's vanishingly rare (0.5% chance at best). However, if you want a second one, just move your first to the inventory of an alt character then run the raid again with your main: as long as it's your first clear of the week you'll get the parts to craft it again. @forest lily

Is clutch isnt working properly? I had devils due, amd was fighting buddy and lucy. My armor was pretty much zero after taking few seekers. And as i keep putting crit hits on buddy cluch havent propped.

clutch only heals when you're under the treshold with crits

It says in description that if you below 20% armor(i was at 0%) at the time, crit hits repair 3%. In that case it shouldve been to at least 20% because i didnt make kill. I know in raids some talents arent working properly, like you still get staggered by buddy seekers/ironhorse mortars even if you wear sawyer kneepads.

as a DPS you should be out of harm's way for all the bosses so you don't need any defensive stats except maybe unbreakable talent on your chest as an extra life

For the Regulus project, I got exotic drops from the first 2 bosses only, nothing from 3rd and 4th boss........WHY SO?

Total 5 exotic pieces are required for the pistol, I got only 2, can someone explain?

Did you collect those pieces already? Did you finish the raid and get the piece from the box?That’s what I can think of, because it’s a guaranteed drop for those pieces.

I donated everything, except for the last 5 exotic pieces that we have to donate for Regulus. I got only drops from first 2 bosses only, I finished the full raid but none of the other bosses dropped the exotic piece and nothing from the box in the trailer.

Idk. You didn’t jump in a raid at boss 3 on and get the pieces? Double check the exotic components and make sure.

yes i completed all the projects....recently completed. Only project remaining is Rats Gnaw Our Bones - that is Regulus project for which we have to donate 5 exotic parts.

1st do the IH raid then you get 5 projects

project 1 and 2 your donating fi and bulwark gear sets plus some othe r stuff

projects 3and 4 your donating miscellaneous gear

after you donate all that then you do a IH raid AFTER a tuesday reset and get the parts foir the regulos from each boss

To answer it, there are 2 difficulties in the Raids, "Discovery" and "Normal".

• Discovery has matchmaking, enemies are easier, less raid-specific mechanics.

• Normal has no matchmaking, has harder enemies + more complex mechanics, but you are able to get the Raid exclusive Exotics+Gearset loot + Projects.

@thorn garnet Eagle Bearer and Ravenous are both just gained while in the Raid itself, most easily from opening the Chests with keys.
Regulus requires a Project and a few weeks.

Just keep an eye out for someone saying LF(x) (looking for x number of players) RV(x) (raid voice channel x) DH (dark hours)/IH (iron horse). When you see a group with open spots just jump in and ask who you need to add, then add them on uplay. Make sure your name in the discord channel matches uplay. Let people know your new so they can explain what you need to do and what your role is for each boss. Most people have no issues walking people through for the first time as long as your upfront about it.
