You may have misread that: that's not a thing in div2, you can play either Raid as much as you want.
You just only get access to the final Chest once a week, however the bosses also have a chance to drop the raid-locked guns too, just at a lower chance.

Unless I'm reading that wrong, it's very confusingly written.

Per Character. No need to test, the Raids have been around since 2019+2020.

Same thing with the Paradise Lost Incursion, which isn't technically a Raid, but same method.

Ok so 4 character = 4 chest a week . So Chest does have a " Lock out " , can Raid 1000 times a day if you want. 😉

If you want the 1% chance at Eagle Bearer (for DH), or Ravenous (for IH) from each boss, yes you can Raid 1000x a day.

The chest has a 10% chance, for point of reference.

Chest doesn't have a lockout either. As long as you have 5 keys, you can open the chest. The 4 key boxes refill once a week, but the 5th and final key drops on every completion.

So if you pick up all the keys from the key boxes on your first run of the week, you can open the chest. If you then run the raid 5 more times, and grab the key from the final boss, you can open the chest again. You can have up to 15 raid keys (of each type) on you.

But there is no lockout for the raid, or the chest (aside from the required 5 keys), neither per account nor character.

Yes, newcomers to raids are generally advised to play dps as the simplest roles involve add control.
Iirc there's no need for tanks in DH, but IH has use for them in certain boss encounters

But those have optimum tank builds to match the situation, see the spreadsheet pinned in #td2-build-advice for a guide

Generally speaking shd really doesn't matter, but having a solid dps build and a mic is the main general requirement/expectation.

Don't forget the pistol(Regulus) from iron horse, it'll be in your projects after you've cleared IH once. In my opinion, it's one of the best guns in the game and fun as hell seeing those explosions when you get headshot kills 👍😎

Was the last time you checked back in 2020? Before Iron Horse released 😄 I agree with Rivens, raids would require a ton of work and testing/balance etc. likely far beyond what the current dev team would want to allocate. Also like Rivens said, in one of the PTS builds a while ago there was a leaderboard entry for a "Wallops Island" incursion, but Yannick was pretty clear in saying "we prototype many things internally that don't make it into the game," so yeah zero guarantee there's another raid or incursion in the works. Would be nice for sure, but definitely don't expect one.

I'm still hoping to get eb, Rev and oro, bit I'm getting showed to the side because I'm bot a speed runner, I mafe a dps build with 49 crit chance. 118 crit damage with the exodis gloves. Yet still can't get in the raid.

Before any new raid is developed, dh, ih, and pl need reworks that may get more of the original players have a better reason to come back.

I have some clears on them, I know the mechanics, so yes the main change that npcs are not strait bullet sponges, then alot of others wouldn't had left the game due to the devs only listen to streamers who say make it harder. Not hard enough, not hard enough, making it si majority of players are alienated from the dh, ih, and pl.

As you mentioned that you have yet to "get in the raid", the confusion was warranted.
As for your build: it's not great, as 49% CHC is pretty low, depending on the build, but just the crit stats alone really aren't enough to indicate if the build is "good" or not.
Head over to #td2-build-advice and post a screenshot if you can, or just describe it in detail. Specifically focus around the chest+backpack Talent, what gun, and what Talent on the gun. I'm sure someone can give you a hand.

If that's all too long for you, just copy the "standard dps build" from the spreadsheet that's 📌 pinned in the same channel, it's worked for Dark Hours in particular since ~2019.

I do have it but on PlayStation, most fast groups want cavalier for tank boss 3. Im guessing it's the dmg mitigation but it's only for skills so in a casual, TP might be more useful for killing at the end but, they want what they want 😂

You’ll have a 10% chance to have it drop from the final chest. Then you’ll rav can drop from a raid boss but the exotic drop chance is the same as for a random open world ad, and it includes all exotics in the game. Making the chance for the rav far less than 1% and closer to 0.001% The 1% drop chance from bosses only applies to the incursion, and people have mistakingly been applying it to raids ever since the incursion was released.

Ive never seen a patch note that said the drop chance had increased. Granted, that doesn’t say much, but I’ve also not experienced an increased drop chance in game.

Its sort of explained by the "raid loot" X/4 in the raid menu. The raid loot is the raid gearsets, materials, but also that exotic drop chance

40 minutes is doable in an lfg, but takes quite an experienced group and I wouldn't go in expecting a 40 minute run if your new. A smooth run on average takes roughly an hour, if the group is explaining roles to new players, things not 100% smooth it can go up to an hour and a half. More if things are rough.

You need to run the raid on normal difficulty to get raid keys and have a chance to open the box in the end. Sounds like you did matchmaking and ran DH on discovery.

What would be the best way for someone to break into Division 2 raiding? I've done plenty of Destiny (1+2) raids so I can understand mechanics and builds pretty well, but is there anything I should do specifically when joining LFG groups that's unique to Division 2?

Bring a red dps build and a working mic and you’ll be fine for a first run

Most people would want you to bring Red Dps (Highend or Striker builds), good way to start is Incursion, which I see as a «mini» raid, and Dark Hours

Iron Horse is way more complicated/advanced compared to DH, but groups are often willing to take on first runnerd and guide you somewhat through

As ppl have said, make a red dps build, 3 pc providence, 1 groupo, contractors gloves and fox prayer, famas or police m4 with optimist or strained. If you already did destiny 2 raids you'll find div2 raids easy

Even if the raids will be easier since I'm used to day 1-ing destiny raids, it's probably a good idea to work up to em even if the progression is fast so I can get a feel for division raid mechanics.

Kind of came back to the game. Saw that I didnt do the iron horse raid. Have all the other playstation achievements. Had tried a couple of "discovery" but it just hits a stop at the furnace boss.

@ripe merlin Discovery, unfortunately, won't count for actually completing a proper Raid, and won't award you any of the special things that a Raid does, like the Projects, Exotics, Blueprints from bosses, proper enemy difficulty+raid mechanics.
It's worth trying to do a Raid properly, you can find a teaching server over at GCrock, but we're happy to give you advice in this channel too.
If you want to try and LFG here, make sure that you know what happens, and have a proper build for it.

so ultimately, what should I use in a raid as of now? I got a striker set with all the talents and almost max rolled on everything, or an HE set with bad talents on chest and backpack (never did a raid im new to the game got 60 hours in)

striker is 52 CHC 120 CHD and HE is 51 CHC with 170 CHD (both sets use coyote and elmo)

It's up to you tbh. There are people who will want you to use a high end build, some want you to use a striker build, and to some it doesn't matter so much. Ultimately there is no one way to complete the raids. What you'll wanna run just depends on what you and the rest of your group prefer. The raids are old, and there are many different ways to complete them. Just bring whatever you have, and see what the rest of the group prefers, and what starts the team wants to do.

If you have a decent-ish striker, it'll get you through any part of the raid without issue.

A few countdown run can get you a pretty minmax striker build which is more than to start raiding.

If you have a vague idea of what to do but just need to learn, would expect a full team prog to take 3-4 hours in total. For a single person sherpa the raid could be completed at normal pace of roughly an hour or less

Iron horse could take longer depending on what mechanics you're learning. A couple of them are somewhat difficult/gear checks depending on the strategy.

You can’t matchmaking for tho. Well you can for Discovery but they have different mechanics and none of the raid rewards you get in normal difficulty.

Advice is have a dps build ready. Striker is more than enough for Dark Hour and Iron Horse. Find a discord that is willing to carry or teach newer players. You can try GCRocks servers. And if you want watch so guides on youtube.

There is no need for pfe build or a tank medic in a raid. If you don’t have experience you would be on dps. So an all red dps build to kill npc is what you would be doing. The experienced people would be doing more of the mechanics

Find a raid on normal difficulty (organise in #lfg-raid-console or other discords as you can't matchmake for it), open the 4 key boxes as you progress through the raid, get the 5th key from the final boss loot, then use all 5 to open the crate at the end for a 10% chance of Eagle bearer.
Note that the key boxes are only lootable once per week per character.

Has anyone seen an issue with doing the Chunga one shot on Fieser where both Fieser and the chunga have nego stacks but the damage doesn't transfer ie Fieser's armor bar doesn't go below 4 bars. Control room window is broken and he is still at the middle of the room. We do the 1shot often but it seems that this is happening a bit regularly so curious if others have come across it.

Fieser has the mechanic that health gates him at 4 bars. So when your doing the one shot you need to make sure you bring him down to that 4 bars first, then take the nego shot

we get him down to 4 bars, then move to chunga, do the stacks but while doing a stack on chunga Fieser just stops taking damage all together, sometimes we have to reset the raid but usually we only see it on Charlie side not Alpha side

Opinions differ, but the div2 Raids are very much not advisable to do without knowing what you're doing already first, which a random group likely would not.

tl;dr think of them, if you're familiar, as similar to the destiny 2 Raids, the more complicated ones. A random team can technically get through, but will take wayyyyyy longer than normal, and people will probably leave before they're over.

I started playing WONY after over a year. I am genuinely blown away by the attention to detail on this expansion! Take this clip for example. I am just standing there during a downpour watching that traffic signal gently rocking as it lays suspended and the rainwater dripping off it. As the downpour subsided, so did the dripping water.

Is the raid equivalent to a destiny raid ? Puzzle mechanics and communications while damaging a boss or surving? Easier or tougher? Or is it like a sea of thieves stronghold ?

@neon eagle If you've played the Scourge of the Past or other smaller destiny raids: that's about the equivalent of Iron Horse.
Dark Hours is more like a Raid lair.

You can absolutely do the Raids without comms, but they'll make it a lot easier.
Most of the time, as long as you listen to what the Raid Leader says, you'll do okay.

It's best to know the Raids fairly well before you go in all the same, oh and of course make sure you join the "GCrock" discord server, they regularly teach the Raids/Incursions (like raids, but only 4 players and smaller).

oh ps: make sure you have the striker meta build from the 📌 pinned spreadsheet over in #td2-build-advice made, it'll carry you through the content.

The last few times my clan and I ran, we encountered a bug during the water phase of Captain Fieser's boss fight. When the trying to turn on the water cannon inside the room the interact button either would not appear or the pressure would go from lower 90s/upper 80s to 20 immediately

it happened during a few different runs and we had to break the raid group and restart it for the phase to work correctly. So I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced this.

It takes a minimum of 3 runs to get the Regulus. They each have to either be in new weeks after reset or on different characters.

First run unlocks the projects for the Regulus. Second run gets you enough Ironwork Base Materials to complete the projects if you have been opening the key boxes in both runs. Only donate those to one project at a time because you'll get them back from completing the project and they can be used on the other project. Third run gets you the parts if you have the final project to acquire the Regulus pieces: 1 from each boss and the final one from the chest at the end that requires 5 keys to open.

#lfg-raid-console is the place to check, or one of the big discords that has voice channels (the community discord or GCRock). If you're trying to matchmake in-game, it's not really worth it since you can only matchmake for discovery difficulty, which doesn't have any of the exclusive rewards.

@humble star As long as you let your team know beforehand, you can absolutely complete a Raid without needing to use a mic.
As someone who can't use one either; I've done exactly that. Just be aware that not every group will be okay with it, you've got to find one that will.

firstly thank you so much for the new season, companion, etc etc i love it 🙂
unfortunately there has been cheating going on in the raids using the 'jammer pulse glitch' which can be found on youtube (so they tell me)
so agents are hitting completion times too fast, with ease & with little pracitise
this is hurting veteran players, who have worked on their strategy over the years for faster time, to the point that they are leaving div2 and playing other games, its sad to see it.
can you please delete the raid completion times made with this glitch or any other cheat? , its more important for raids because the raids have leaderboards and completion times and it matters to the veteran players who try so hard to complete it properly, and it hurts newer players learning raids if their teachers are running cheats
maybe set up a clearance programme once a week? deleting any raids completed using a cheat, and ban agents in those raids? it would stop the cheating

i appreciate its a big ask but im losing playing with my friends to glitches

Drop chance is 10% from the final chest, <1% from boss loot. Iirc raids don't have target loot, but that won't help anyway.

Yeah, try and run it near reset with an experienced team, increases the chance of someone else dropping it for you from their chest loot if you don't get lucky yourself.

The lmg guys up top where the boss spawns not the guys on the gun are not considered part of the railyard and don’t have to be killed to spawn the boss so there would have to be something else alive like trinity said

Ran the IH raid last night and had several issues like the adds stuck in right door so we killed them with oxi but the spark plugs dropped where they died until the 5 run we had only one spark plug so we couldn't get the first key also in the 3rd run Grey got stuck at his spawn behind the little building. We were able to get past the control room and the spot where you destroy the pipes to turn the 4 valves is the other spot we encountered the issue that the snipers didn't spawn and after doing the valves we couldn't get the key because the gates didn't open so we couldn't activate the machine to shoot the 3 electrical boxes. So in that run we couldn't get 2 of the keys due to it bugging out.

Yea these are all known bugs but you can also just reset the raid since the issue happened at grey it doesn’t take long to get back to the first boss. But raid servers have always been an issue and with the manhunt coming out on Tuesday that will be in the iron horse raid it won’t help

Not sure if someone replied so forgive if they did. Even if you have only one spark plug you can still obtain the first key: put the first spark plug into a generator, the train will move a bit. Walk up to the train till you see that orange objective marker change. This means the checkpoint has been triggered. Once it does, fast travel onto someone and it will put you past the train. Then you can interact with the lever as usual. Just make sure not everyone fast travels so they can check the fuse locations. Once they found the plug. They can then also fast travel to the next checkpoint, bypassing the stuck train.

You can run with a second char in the same week if you have bought the blueprint for shared materials. Then you can finish the bulwark and future initiative projects in one week but you still have to wait for next week to get the regulus parts to my knowledge.

You can, but chances of obtaining a eb from a boss is ridiculously low. You can increase your chance by running the raid on another toon, keys a per week per character.

@solid cairn @hoary turtle depends on the raid leader and group you are raiding with. For the first runs, you need only a dps build. For DH, it's mostly a red striker build. For IH, it's better to use a "yellow" dps build (Providence, Ceska, Grupo, Overlord). There are groups that don't care what kind of build you bring as long as you can kill a few adds from a door with that build. In my opinion you don't need any optimized build or a special SHD level for the raids when you run with an experienced group 🙂

Generally speaking, slightly harder than heroic difficulty but require more team coordination. To get started, it's best if you're comfortable running solo heroic with a full red dps build.
Most of the loot isn't anything special but there are a few exotics that are much easier to get in a raid than elsewhere.
You can check #lfg-raid-pc to find a team (avoid ingame matchmaking) but most people use the gcrock or community discords to coordinate as they have voice channels.

I believe you will get it from retaliations. But with the new prototype stuff you would probably want something not an exotic in the future and luck. As beeing lucky is most important for how much dps you will do in this next chapter of division 2. And you cant prototype exotic weapons as i understand it.

On one shot build you want to stack headshot damage so you use Habsburg, pgc, punch drunk, dch, gift, foxes. As for regular striker if you’re doing it the intended way then yeah you can use hollow man for buddy Lucy and hollow man for razorback is great too

It’s possible to do it in 2 but it’s rng. The mats that drop from the boss are in a range so if you get enough to donate to one project once you complete the project it gives it back to you and then you could donate to second project and can have it done in two weeks. But if you have Brooklyn dlc you can just boost a new character which would be easier.

@coarse garden Discovery Mode for either of the 2 Raids aren't worth it, as the mechanics are different, and you don't get any of the raid-locked rewards, plus the enemies are overall easier.
I highly recommend you find a teaching team for Dark Hours, and learn the Raid, so you can get full credit for it.

High damage is required for the raids so an all red dps build is required strikers or providence as your main role as a beginner will be ads control.

DPS builds are the main thing for Dark Hours and Iron Horse raids. Focus on getting a strikers or umbra as they are pretty newbie friendly dps builds. Once those are set up, look into a full yellow dps. Purple gear isnt required for the raids, just makes things way easier

DH can have 1 gimmick player with a jammer build (hardwired set rolled with red cores) that makes the final boss not take forever. A tank is pretty useful for one of the boss gimmicks but you can do it with full DPS players.

IH has a tank and healer with the rest being DPS. You can do a slight cheese with sweet dreams exo shotty
