Have your person in Control Room run a Catharsis, 4 pc Foundry and a Belstone (Haz Pro and Armor Regen) and they can stay up there for ever. Makes Hot Foot very easy

So, I've been playing this game frequently for the past 2-3 weeks now after I noticed some friends were playing it, and I recently finished my build. I wanted to ask how difficult are raids, and what should I expect from other players/conditions to participate in one?
One of my friends is saying that all of the players need to have DPS builds. However, I'm running a support-like build with Future Initiative (Allies deal +25% bonus damage when at they're at full armor), so I don't know if my gear set would fill in/be a valid excuse for running a DPS-like build. I really enjoy running support, and don't really want to run something I won't enjoy as much.

I also didn't know which tab to post the question in, so my bad if it's the wrong one to ask this in.

@frail mica raids are a cross between challenging and heroic. most groups are pretty kool about 1st timers joining them, its very important to let them know your new , be willing to pay attention and learn, and let them know you need keys and bp treasures. As far as your build goes you will need a red dps for your first few times until you learn the mechanics. hope this helps, and this is the right spot for the question.

You'll definitely want to get a DPS build put together. General rule of thumb is to reach +50% CHC, +150% CHD. There's a standard dps build guide in the pinned spreadsheet in the build advice channel. Other builds are used in raids like FI, but for starting out you'll definitely want to have a DPS build as your primary role.

You always have a healer for first 3 bosses but the majority of the time you use hard wired for drones so a red fi on adds 1 for example is a massive help

Though it could be a difference in strategies since on xbox you will never not have a healer for first 3 bosses

Boss 1 healer does double downs boss 2 they overcharge after killing ricochet then dizzy boss 3 they overcharge sometimes for a scanner drone/pulse and they proc 7 shot Scorpio on both puppies

They also do buttons on dizzy side

But boss 4 most people use a hard wired drones build

A healer on first boss DH can make things easier. I run a skill damage FI healer [no repair skills] sometimes with an assault turret and healing hive. However if the group overall is extremely weak, you can pull through a group that will struggle a lot in the last boss

Diamondback is great for the 100% crit chance but thats RNG on which add gets marked and more RNG that youd have to actually hit that mark with the first round also

ND is a rng based dps set, damage transfer based on crit, so its adding rng to rng while having rng with rng

Why are the raids so hard/ time consuming?

Raids in any game (Div, Destiny, Warcraft, etc) are challenging end-of-game group content for longtime players that are very familiar with build systems and enemy behavior. Games with raids will usually have big rewards or exclusive items locked behind completion. Raids are intended to be hard and time consuming to give veteran players something to challenge themselves with and to give new players something to look forward to.

As players gain understanding of a game's systems and mechanics, raids become less difficult and time consuming. Example - IH week 1 took 10+ hours for the first teams to figure out and complete. Now there are speedrunners doing IH in under 20 minutes.

Though raids in any game are not designed for casual or new players, there are raid clans and guilds that are willing to show newcomers the ropes if they want to learn, or do quick carries to help players get raid exclusive items.

If you find yourself frustrated with the raids, you can try getting in with a raid clan/guild for quick assistance. Or, if you greatly enjoy a game, watch some videos, read some guides, get a team together, and give the raid a blind try to test your knowledge and skill. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

@main yarrow Gear 2.0 / Title Update 8 brought significant build system changes that made raid builds less convoluted. This plus SHD, proficiency, and expertise are making new raiders with - ahem - off meta "DPS builds" surprisingly OP.

There are also lots of raid guide resources, from written guides with maps to detailed YouTube guides. You'l find from guides that various groups and content creators approach the raids differently. However, the jist of it is kill ads before they kill you (high damage build), good communication, and following directions. (Note: Do take the advice of content creators and streamers with a grain of salt. They have brands to build, and try to establish weird strats and builds as part of their brand. The simpler the strats and simpler the builds, the more likely a new team can pull through.)

You can also try asking in the raid LFG section for someone who can show a few of your clan mates how to do the raid so you can turn around and teach it to your clan. Div 2 has a pretty chill and helpful community with people who like to help.

If it's only yourself looking, it should be fairly easy to get into a group in the raid LFG section. You can also try the clan recruitment section for Xbox clans that raid. Completing DH really has become much simpler woth Gear 2.0. Try it with a group that teaches, and after you get a couple of clears under your belt, the raids won't seem so difficult and time consuming. 😁

If you completed all of the projects up to the regulus one, then yes first run after reset will drop the parts. Four from the bosses, the last from the box. So collect all the keys.

Seems you missed one key. You can open the key boxes only once a week (but you get a key from the last boss every time you finish a raid). Means you can run the raid again and pick up the last key from the box and get another key from the boss. Someone posted the key box positions already, I think in this channel here.

the more full defensive stacks you can get the more amplified damage you are stacking on yourself within that buff duration. Typically the amount of bonus armor you have on you is indicative on how much you have amplified damage wise onto armor plates. make sure you are maxing out before switching shoulder to proc the defensive buff as it is doubling at max stack (Hence 5/6 extra shot before shoulder switch 1 to proc)

Hello!
Discovery mode is a less challenging version of the normal raids, featuring fewer mechanics, weaker enemies, and more forgiving timers. One does not need to complete discovery raids to do the normal version. I would generally advise against using discovery raids to learn, as mechanics and timing are very different from normal raids. You'll also find that most people in matchmade discovery raids don't use mics, so there is little to no cooperation or learning.

General setup is 2 a, 2 c,1b,1 tank, 1upstairs defence and 1 control room

If you have the healer do control room they can usually solo it. If you purposely leave the tank outside eventually the boss will break the windows and that locks the control room and adds stop spawning. Frees up the upstairs guard player to go elsewhere

By “providence build” I’m assuming you mean 3pc prov foxes and two other pieces? All chc/chd? Then that would be a good build for raids. Strikers can work but isn’t usually recommended and instead the standard dps build is, aka 3pc prov with foxes and some other pieces

Keep the Providence build, but do make a Strikers build too. It's better than 3 pc Prov for certain areas of DH and IH. 3 Prov is good for burst kills, like when you are on door duty.

Not in the control room. Burn resist is useful if your going inside the furnace to prevent being caught on fire, but the heat damaging stacks that build will apply damage regardless of burn resist

I heal through the control room because I am too lazy to assemble a hazpro tank. But I do like using a hazpro tank in the control room.

• FI healer can solo upstairs until 50%, swap skills, go downstairs, and heal
• tank in control room can help break weak points to free up a DPS downstairs.

Like you said, it's different strokes for different folks. And knowing multiple ways/builds of doing a task can make the team more flexible and put additional resources where needed.

Pair with gunslinger and a ravenous, you an amplify your damage to armor with rav and use something like a gunslinger to do massive damage. But the damage will only transfer with a crit shot. Weakpoints / chunga armor technically can be hit with infinite dmg at once but will break with enough dmg

That's what happens when the room fills with carbon monoxide. Like raucey said, it's what happens when the codes aren't done properly. The person in the control room has a monitor next to the screen that shows the crucible, which tells you if there's carbon monoxide levels.

Find someone/a group willing to teach and take new ppl through and you’ll be fine. The raids aren’t as punishing as the ones in Des2 where a small mistake could lead to a wipe. If you’re ever stuck in a single encounter for an abnormal amount of time, it’s most definitely not your fault alone and more-so the group’s collective inexperience, lack of instruction to the newer raiders, or mistake(s).

it will auto complete some things, which is sort of good and bad. If you want to jump to the DLC now I would actually start a new character and just choose the WONY start. Your best chance is to group with people who do it regularly, on their first run of the week, since you're more likely have someone share it with you (also if they're regulars that means it'll likely be a smooth and successful run)

You can run over and over again to keep getting ONE key from the final encounter with the Razorback, after 5 runs (after first run of the week that gives all 5 keys in one run) you can open the box at the end.

Only a 1% chance for an exotic to drop from any of the 4 bosses. Then factor in how many exotics are in the loot pool and you come to the conclusion that the crate at the end is the better option since it has a 10% chance to drop the eagle….

Hoping someone can help with a few questions on the Iron Horse raid...

I am just coming back to the game after a long break. I have a decent build for raiding myself. However, I play with two close friends. Their builds are also decent, but one of them runs a Bulwark Shield + Liberty pistol. He can take a ton of damage but DPS isn't stellar.

I'd love to be able to run with those two guys through the raid and get my friend who runs the Bulwark the Regulus. I think he's really have a great time running his build in other content with this exotic.

My question is, would he be able to run that build in Iron Horse? He isn't the type to spend a bunch of time farming up another high DPS build. Not sure how the raids are now but I did run Dark Hours back when it first came out and it seemed like eventually it became a raid that was easy to carry just about anyone through as long as there were a handful of experienced\top geared players on the team.

Lastly, if it is possible how would you suggest for us to get into a raid group?

Well, this question for using a tank build will be answered differently 😅 in my opinion, a group with 7 experienced players can carry your friend through. The challenge is to find such a group. Try the raid channel for pc here in the discord.

There are roles for tanks in IH, but they are pretty specific roles. You don't want to bring a new person in who only has a tank build, since there will be situations where the tank player is ideally someone with some experience/knowledge, and certain fights where you'll just be a burden for the team. It's not impossible to find a group that's willing to carry someone, but if all 3 of you are new to IH then that's a pretty big ask of the other 5 to not just be teaching the raid, but also working around someone's build being effectively useless at times. It doesn't take too long to get an alright DPS build setup, so just have him get prepared

Hi there! Some parts of IH can be done with a mostly red Hunter's Fury build (like door coverage on Zova). I'd also bring an AR or rifle all red DPS build. If you head to #td2-build-advice and check the pinned messages to access the Division 2 spreadsheet, look for the standard red DPS build (3pc Prov, etc).

Strikers and ND also work in some areas and are easy to build. The 3pc Prov has the advantage of versatility. Happy raiding!

Some IH groups will take you with a HF build, some will want you to have the 3 pc Prov all red DPS build. For IH, I'd go for the 3pc Prov for the versatility (you'll mostly shoot at mid to long range targets).

Yes Scorpio, but also get a good SMG because IH glitchy and there are things you don't want to shoot with a Scorpio.

I'd really recommend for raiding making the 3pc Prov build. You can use it with any weapon and handle any enemy, and you can swap a piece or two around for versatility. Plus any group will take you with the 3pc Prov build. Some groups won't take people without it.

You need to do 3 IH with a raid reset in between each (i.e. 3 weeks). You'll also need 5 keys to open the chest at Zova for the final Regulus piece. It's minimum 3 runs - more if you don't have enough keys for the Zova chest on your last run.

I mean the actual time spent on getting it is a couple hours for the raids and a bit of farming. You just gotta wait a little but for those resets. If you have a secind character you can run them through and enable account shared resources to get enough materials for the projects. That way you should be able to do it in one reset.

Pretty much - a drone killer is needed on the final boss and a medic can come in handy but is not necessary. Obviously if you're planning speedrun strats like one-shotting then that requires more specialised builds.

Having a basic build, some basic knowledge, and basic listening skills are key to running your first Dark Hours.
After you get a few of those under your belt and learn how Raids in div2 work, that's when I'd suggest repeating the process for Iron Horse.

To break it down for you, Dark Hours is essentially a DPS check with mechanics around it.
In Dark Hours, you're going to have to hunker down and shoot things, not a lot of chance to be within the 15m range of HF, or collect Memento trophies.

Dps check wise, how hard is DH? Do you need everylone like on 60/150+ crit to be able to done it or a mediocre build like 50/100 still able to pass it?

its the easiest of the raids i'd say

The recommended crit is 50 chance / 150 damage on the standard 3 pc Providence red DPS build (usually someone in the party is wearing Coyote's Mask). A build with these stats will help you kill adds quickly, and the faster you kill adds the less likely they are to hurt you.

Some raid groups won't take anyone below 50/150. Some groups don't mind. Ravenous, Regulus, BLB, Strikers, FI, and the such are ways to boost individual or group damage and brute force one's way through DH.

Summary: If only 1 person is lacking damage among an experienced group, it'll be fine. If most of the group is under 50/150 and inexperienced, there will be problems with add clearing and boss fights will drag on, likely leading to many wipes.

If you’re just trying to start getting involved with the raids, don’t worry about how much crit you have on your build that much. Just make sure your cores are all red and as close to max as possible and you’re running damage talents on your chest+bag and you’ll be fine. The exact crit percentages just further optimizes your builds and makes things even easier. A team won’t really struggle with ad clear as long as they have high weapon dmg and dmg talents on.

there are more mechanics than dh, just let everyone know your new and listen to what they say. your first time is overwhelming, but after a couple of times you begin to understand some of the mechanics . Then you can move onto learning control room,or HAZ tank, stagger tank , key tank and healer.
