just checked it again to see if it was fixed, but no, there is no targeted loot drops, as in the system where you get targeted loot alongside a normal drop, is not working at all in dz,
what might happen from time to time is that a normal drop will drop a piece that matches target loot for that zone and it will come up as targeted loot, but that isnt the actual system wroking

also dz key chests and nameds are supposed to drop targeted loot along side a normal drop, and they are not, they are dropping one item

probably - you could check the numbers it displays on the skill screen when you upgrade it (just do one). It's actually undesirable to push that initial burst damage up if you run an eclipse protocol firespreader build, as enemies killed outright by it don't spread the fire

That's a bug that's been around since the start of season 2: if you buy the season pass you get an extra daily project (just some extra xp for running a random mission) but if you don't buy the pass you get the notification about the project even though you can't select it

So you can never clear that 'new project' mark unless you buy the pass

the other thing i can think of is if you have done all the offsite missions allready on story, so camp white oak, manning, the 2 at pentagon and the 2 coneys

you can check if you have done those already by if you can set the difficulty on them to anything above story, the first time trough you have to do them on story so its locked to that

As far as I can tell it requires you to use a weapon or gear for a certain amount of levels (independent of shd levels) … then once you get to proficiency level 10 you gain expertise in that gun… however many guns, gear and skills you are proficient (expertise) you increase your expertise level which allows you to add individual upgrades to each item

Each variant of a gun or gear is independent which sucks

for most 'regular' (non-named) weapons, the fastest way I can see to level them is to target that weapon type in countdown, run a few times (I recommend having no more than 90 items in your inventory so you have space) and donating everything that drops, you'll level up most of that category in very little time

the 'donate all junk' button just donates items (those marked as junk), each +1 you see is a gained profiency level. To donate materials, you have to go into the submenu of the specific item you want to upgrade, and you'll see a button prompt there for materials. The reason Printer Filament is recommended is because it's the cheapest in terms of turning scavenging points into donatable resources - if you don't have a ton of scav points to spare, it's not really worth doing. (Arguably second cheapest - the cheapest is turning scav points into money and buying named items or weapons to donate from vendors)

you can donate materials to upgrade proficiency on items (only up to level 10 which is max) OR you can use materials to upgrade specific items themselves (by adding 1% armor, or weapon damage, or whatever). Both are done from within the item submenu in the expertise table

if you're proficient in coyotes you can't get more proficient by any means, but you can upgrade any specific one of your coyotes masks you have in your inventory

you raise expertise by raising proficiency levels in any of your items that aren't proficient yet. You can raise those proficiency levels by equiping the items and playing, OR by donating materials directly, but you only get that option when you go to the specific item submenu. EG you want to raise proficiency in the 'Enforcer' shotgun by donating materials (because unless you got it as a preorder bonus, you can't use it), then you go to 'shotguns', then scroll down the list and select the 'Enforcer', THEN you'll see an option to upgrade with materials

ohhh that is the disconnect. so 'expertise level' is gained by becoming proficient with many many different items. it ALSO controls how far you can upgrade a single item.

proficiency is only off of kill xp, no other xp contributes to it, and the only place where it matters if you kill is that your active weapon gets double the amount from when you kill something, for the rest its all the same, also for if you kill or a group member

thats why countdown is decent for farming it, and why people did the tombs cheese and are now doing the capitol final area cheese

golan is a blue core so it'll naturally spawn with more blue attribute but the brand bonus is 10% status effect

golans 1 piece bonus is status effect, for the most common layout, you go with a golan glove, holster or knee with skill haste/skill dmg+status effect, as golan comes with blue core you have to use the recalibration to recore, so you have to get the stats that you need, and as its a blue core item, its pretty rare for it to drop with 1 minor not being blue, so its a pretty hard piece to farm for

most will get whatever rolls with the right stats they can and optimise it up, even if they are only halfway on the stats

Countdown was designed with casual gamers in mind and is really not that hard of a game mode. Once you've done it 2, 3 times, you'll get the hang of it and will know what to do and where. As for actual Raids.... having a mic would certainly be helpful, especially if you're new.

if you are SHD level 0 and have a chatterbox, and a SHD level 1000 has one, both of them will roll random stats so yes one can be better than the other. You can re roll the % for the attributes with an exotic component to try and better it but it can also make it worse.

in PvE it's far faster and more efficient to have a red or yellow build - blue ones don't really add much to the group (but due to group scaling, just having them present makes the enemies tougher & more numerous for everyone else)

also there's no decent threat mechanic, so even being up in the enemies face won't cause them to shoot you instead of the damage-dealers on your team

mostly people seem to run blue because they're scared of damage, and haven't learned how properly to use cover, target weakpoints, etc

for a solo player, 6 blue cores with massive ammount of passive regen is a normal thing

it will make you survive heroic if you do not know what you are doing

problem is that in team games you will struggle to kill even 1 enemy, and unnecessarily prolong any combat engagement

essentially instead of 4 players versus 3x enemies situation you got 3 player and 1 luggage versus 3x enemies situation, it tilts towards enemies in PvE

that luggage need some gimmick to stay relevant, just adding regen and armor doesn't help out the other 3 players

also the luggage can't learn much on how to stay alive in low armor situ

if you are new and dont know what you are doing, better off running drone+turret (except in countdown), not a tank

Hunters are pretty tough (more so than the ai rogue agents) but you can always drop the difficulty down to Normal while you deal with them, they'll still put upa good fight. Avoid bringing a skill build though.

It will likely take you much longer to reach max expertise (let alone farm the necessary materials to upgrade a full build to 20) than to farm a decent build. Also, expertise doesn't make a vast difference to a build's power, it's just a long term polishing project to keep players busy who had already got all the gear they wanted

you might be confusing components for something else? You can only carry 250 components at a time, so you'd be empty now however many you had before

they're the ones you donate at control points, and farm from the areas with the big green boxes

If they went down in a "weakened" state then it's an auto-death. Another way to die while down is by having a status effect on you or getting hit by an explosion/environment proxy. Hunters themselves don't seem to go after downed players afaik

Raids and Countdown aren't player scaled, it's not a matter of solo or 8 people. You can one shot a Hunter with PGC + Punch Drunk + Vigilance + Max DCH stacks and assuming all headshot rolls. Either by hitting a headshot or using achilles and hitting the weakpoint

It's even easier if you get the close range countermeasure, don't think you even need to hit a headshot for that

In fact you likely don't even need to do that build, literally just PGC + Vigilance on a sniper build, Hunters don't have that much health to begin with

It has Perfectly Accurate. +50% Accuracy. Nothing too great. Accuracy basically tightens the bloom, making the bullet spread much less pronounced.
ARs already excel at having having good range, so it's not exactly a good combination with the CTAR.
If it was on an SMG, I guess that would be more appropriate. But then it just starts intruding on the role ARs were designed for: Lower damage than SMGs, but better range.
Then again, we have chameleon so who cares about weapon roles, right?

They most certainly have. Ive played around 30 maybe 40 countdowns and only have gotten 4 exotics

Indeed you are. DZ only. You won't find it in Countdown, Summit, or anywhere else.
You're options are to farm DZ, farm Named/Conflict caches, or wait for one to be sold in the Countdown Vendor.

The only way you would have picked it up outside of DZ is if someone in your group shared it at that point in time.

Otherwise, you may have opened a Named/Conflict cache and gotten one from there, but failed to notice.

To be fair it kinda lives up to its talent name as I’ve been using it to gain proficiency and it hits weak points like a charm 😂

It’s range does feel weird tho… more than like 25 meters you start to have issues with bullet consistency and damage drop off

There has been an increase in people asking for DZ Exclusive items, since targeted loot is broken there your options to get named weapons/gear until it is fixed (In order of my personal preference):

• Check DZ Vendors weekly
• Check Countdown vendors weekly
• During Global Events do Summit Floor 10 farm. In an average LFG group you should have enough stars to buy a named cache every 5 mins with a chance for DZ exclusive items to drop.
• Do Countdown. You should have enough credits to buy a named cache every 30 mins in a matchmake group.
• Get Lucky in the DZ and have it drop.
  Support Staff apparently passed on the info to devs over a month ago that Targeted Loot in the DZ is broken (https://discussions.ubisoft.com/topic/157893/targeted-loot-does-not-work-in-the-dark-zone?lang=en-US)

Donating is more efficient imo. You can farm countdown with specific targeted loot and reach max proficiency easily through donations.

smg already come with loads of chc, getting more chc is a waste since chc is capped at 60. also you need to proc a kill with a crit, which means you can't have low chc in the first place
