Hey so, question
I hear a lot that the Dark Winter is the best named SMG, and I believe it, but I really don't want to deal with DZ crap to get one. (I'm aware of Named Caches being a source too, but I'm not gonna bank on those.)
What's the best SMG obtainable via regular targeted loot? Or is it just a Vector 45 with Killer, as that's just a slight downgrade from Dark Winter.

Its not “the best” but it is “one of the best”. Also like always, the best XYZ would depend entirely on your build and playstyle.

Well I'm running a near-max crit chance build and I already have I believe 100% crit damage pre-Killer proc, so

I see what you're saying, but yeah Dark Winter sounds entirely up my alley

Dark Winter is JUST a Vector SBR .45 ACP. If you have killer on that weapon is only difference is the difference between killer and perfect killer

same applies to nearly every named weapon where the named version is based on a NON-named version with just a perfect talent. The gun stats are identical

I agree and recognize that. I'm just wondering if that's the best named SMG for my build, or if there's some other besides Dark Winter or Cold Relations that I haven't yet heard of, strongly preferable to be not DZ exclusive. I apologize, my initial question was not clear enough.

Considering your build has really low crit damage (you said 100%), id stay away from vectors and go for a low RPM or middle of the pack RPM. Vectors are great for high weapon damage builds but meh for low weapon damage builds tbh.

They have bigger difference IE the DPS and DPM. Check the pinned spreadsheet in build-advice for the major breakdown between weapons.

Awesome! You can enter their room, but it can go south very quickly when your solo, in a group you have more options, but safest way is how you just did it, be patient and let them come to you.

Jump from story/normal to hard isn’t bad, nor is the jump from hard to challenging....challenging to heroic is a significant change and you’ll notice right away

I’d work your way up to heroic, if your not dying now and melting enemies, try challenging and see if you can hold your own...if not back it down to hard for a bit...if you handle challenging and feel confident try heroic...but as I said it’s a significant change

It's probably in the best position it's ever been. Almost any reasonable build is viable in at least Heroic, there's crap-loads of content, a solid player-base and we're about to get a cross-over event with Resident Evil, so I'm expecting more in the future.

You can get the Ridgeways Rogues from a few places. Summit below floor 100, after you capture a CP but before you open the chest, just in the open world, and they can sometimes replace an encounter in a Mission.

that golan gear? i’m using ceska with wicked. diff with perfect is 7 seconds duration. if ure using ridgeway pride, within 20 secs (wicked duration) u already can kill 1 enemy. anyway once u got the hollow point ammo, every shot is a status effect. u can shoot from a distance if you’re an AR main. golan gear gives u more survivability tho

The gear dropped in hard missions will be on average slightly higher rolled than gear dropped in Normal mode. Same goes for Challenging, same for Heroic. Each will be slightly better.

Specialization doesnt matter too much. Run whatever you want. If primarily focusing on headshots with MMR though, go with Sharpshooter for the bonus HSD.

All of the shields in the game (the skills) have 2 regen "states" active regeneration, and holstered regen. Active is while its out and blocking bullets, and holstered is when its on your back, deactivated.

Well you cannot goto NY until you beat the main story of the base game (so have to get world tier 5) and then you can head over to NY.

Something like --> Base x (Weapon Damage + Specific Weapon damage)x (Total Weapon Damage added together) x (HSD+CHD) x Health Damage x Armor Damage x Damage to target out of cover.

Blast resistance stops you from flinching to explosions.. it can be useful in a tank build...

As for Health... Health I dont know. No one has really tested it since armor is much more prevalent.

There is no single meta setup to go for. You can easily go in to any of the 3 with SkillDPS and walk out as winners.

Skill unlocks and SHD tech are different....unlocks are the triangle icon, tech is the Phoenix icon ...

Thanks thumbs, I can’t remember, it’s been along time, I have everything unlocked skills, variants, perks and all the crates in NY and still have 6 SHD tech points available and they only show in the perks tab, not in the skill tab...so 🤷 just checked, the extra 6 are only on my first character, my second character has everything unlocked too but has no extra ...tried Googling and got mixed answers, UPDATE: just looked at my HC character that’s still a baby, yes the skill variants use the SHD tech points to unlock...but still doesn’t explain how my main still has 6 extra ...

you have extra w/ the base game, even i have extra (6 to be exact), think they removed something from the game before release or they overshot the numbers

A lot has changed, and it’s good to say the least, can’t fairly rate it as I am biased and really enjoy the game. New weapons and gear, iron horse raid, the summit which allows targeting your own choice of loot, optimise ability (cost reduction coming feb 2) ....
