The only way to get blueprints to actually craft Exotics, is to run Retaliation.

otherwise all you can do is "reroll" them.

It's called "reconfiguring", and what it means is that you can randomise the % of the stats available for your Exotic gear, without changing them.
for Exotic weapons, it will do the same thing, but also randomise what the 3rd attribute is.

note: it's truly random, and can be made worse.

Which is why you get a 2nd copy of the exotic and reroll the one with worse roll

Or: you don't reconfigure them unless they're incredibly difficulty to get (raid/incursion/bighorn, etc) and just farm out a new one of the others.

No, it's just telling you it does the same damage as a grenade. So if you use gear with increased explosion damage (like China Light) it will also increase Vile damage. Not enough to be worth using though.

Vile + bleed + pesty, these are the 3 tricks. It's an off meta build though. I think people use it to farm some specific events. The only good build you'll see Vile, is the EP(eclipse protocol) fire build.

There's quite a few 'donate this type of item' projects over the course of the story so I'd recommend holding on to all your old gear until you've got near the end (unlocked the strongholds). Unless you're running out of stash space, but that's not too likely.

it'll be like any other gear. you can save it to load outs, put them in the stash. pull it out as long as you're near a stash area via equipping the loadout

Just follow the story, do the main missions as soon as you reach their level and use projects, side missions, control points etc when you need a bit more xp before the next mission.

You won't find many other players to join until you reach max level (40) so just take the time to try different weapons and skills, explore the beautiful and detailed game world at your own pace.

in my view the best is shd followed by mats ( either green ones to craft frd or printer filament) spend them today so you get double

You don't have to spend them as you earn them, let them pile up until you actually need something, and keep an eye on the season timeline to make the most of them as events like the current expertise one can double the materials you get per point.

Personally I generally end up wanting them for shd calibrations and/or field recon data, but the more you have in reserve, the better you'll be if they suddenly come into demand (eg needing gear at expertise 30 for prototype upgrades)

When you get to Keener, be extra careful in the final fight, a lot of people are reporting it bugs if you wipe and you'll have to run the whole mission again.
Retreating up to the high ground after finishing off the launcher worked well for me.
