yeah, in red builds you don't invest in enough buffs for skill damage so they're not worth running for damage, it's mostly utility skills that end up being used for red builds

Dealing with players is not the same as dealing with NPCs and there are PvP specific builds for that.

If you go in there unequipped for a fight against actual people and don't know how PvP works that much in Div 2, you're likely not going to survive any fight.

You can do anything in the game now, technically, depends on what you wanna do after beating the story

It's less about the SHD lvls and more about understanding player psychology and builds + having the actual skill to hold your own.

Not that SHD levels don't help, but they aren't the deciding factor for encounters, and shouldn't be treated as such in most cases.

Usually people are now keen on farming for a build and working their way up to higher difficulties

If you mean just normal co-op play, in that case, there's plenty to do. SHD levels generally aren't something to worry about.

There's also Descent which is a bit of a rogue-lite where you just go through this infinite loop system, buying upgrades and carefully choosing talents/attributes as you progress until you die from the encounters becoming giga strong as you approach higher and higher loops.

Conflict is the PvP game mode that puts you in environments separate from the DZ and puts you in a 4 v 4 against another group. It's more organized and less sporadic than the chaotic free for fall PvP you'd find in the DZ.

There's Summit and Countdown if you're trying to gear up or farm builds. Great places to go for just getting stuff and checking them off a list of things to gather. Summit is slower-paced and can be made much harder for better rewards. Countdown is just a time-trial and you try to make it out fast with an abundance of loot drops.

There's Legendary difficulty which allows you to put your skills and builds to the test against the strongest enemies the game has to offer.

Finally, there's also the Paradise Lost Incursion and the two Raids, Dark Hours and Iron Horse. Both are plenty of fun but have a learning curve to them. It's not that steep though, and the Div 2 community server as well as the GCRock server often host Incursion/Raid parties. They seem pretty welcoming to newbies.

You can also just have fun doing open world activities, farming convoys, control points, and the sort of thing to power level on higher difficulties with more directives, and you can go at it in a group. You got Priority Objectives and Journey Missions as added stuff to do alongside that which can have some good rewards for something you just do on the side while you play the game.

I would say it would be like this

If you have a fully rolled gear Item with expertise 30 and you upgrade it to Prototype you get a fully maxed out Prototype gear Item with those same attributes you had before just higher

If you are not Expertise 30 you need to play Escelation to get random Prototype gear with different values on the roles

You only got it if you got those items from their respective season pass. Bug or Oversight, Idk. Last I checked it wasn't on their Trello issue board, so make sure to report it to the official Ubisoft support so they ackknowledge this issue

For sustained DMG I'd also recommend an LMG

On top, there are other factors to consider. This just shows damage. It does not show handling, accuracy, reload speed, amounts of mod slots, etc.

So my suggestion stands: Get a Police M4 or Carbine 7 until you can get your hands on a Lexington
