Currently 28
Farm and donate each weapon type in turn (preferably from countdown) until the regular weapons are all maxed out. Buy 20 copies of any named items from vendors and donate.
For skills, rare named items and exotics, equip them or donate materials

For non named gearset and brandset items either use them (you can charge through summit on Normal to rack up the kill xp quite easily) or buy/farm 100 copies to donate

One of the ways of gaining proficiency with items and skills (arguably the intended way) is to get kills while they are equipped. It doesn't really matter what difficulty you're at though, so you can just run on Normal with a weird weak build of the things you want to gain proficiency in and it'll still count.
Doesn't have to be summit, it's just a mindless source of enemies to run through, plus the weekly project gets done at the same time.

Actually, this season it's probably best to run priority missions and strongholds so you can progress your season pass along the way

If you wear more pieces of a set it'll level faster, but that just means you have to change it sooner

You can level 6 sets at once by just running one piece of each, or 1 set 6x faster by running all pieces, it'll work out the same either way in the end

Expertise levels by goes # of kills not by how much SHD level experience you are getting I believe. Normal vs heroic would give you the same

All Loot is heroic quality, challenging is basically easier mode, heroic is go hard or go home mode.

You’ll find more pre 1000 shd in challenging, at one point you’d get kicked if you weren’t 1000+ on heroic but times have changed it’s not like that nearly as much nowadays.

Challenging is the goto. its less toxic with little to no kicking based on build/shd like heroic sees.
Challenging also easy for 4 agents to carry a match regardless of how bad the rest of teams builds are.
Also higher completion rate . You'll get like 50items a run, and credits you can use at the countdown vendor. No credits if you dont extract tho

Food for thought. Have you got any decent walker chests rolls regardless of talent? You can roll headhunter onto one while to farm for the perfect version. Damage cap is the same, just how many shots to get to max ( 1 more on non perfect)

It tells you by the game tips that all countdown items are heroic quality no matter the difficulty. Heroic gives extra countdown credits.

but missions i think are in the 300-500 range for season xp , and strongholds are like 700-900ish range for season xp

I will say looking at some ones build will pretty much tell you how much damage they can do.

Doesn't mean they will do it cause they might be bad at stacking/keeping buffs up/or just shooting cause if you don't hit you don't do damage.

During regular play, I always used to have a non-proficient weapon as my secondary, as well as a non-proficient armor piece, so they would slowly generate expertise while playing. Worked pretty well.

just trigger control, you can give ars/lmg/smg a quick burst to be more controlled . if youre running the modifiers it makes it a little harder to do with the rof increase

rifles you can easily 1 shot since they have lower rof than something like a vector

on another note, i been using dark winter on my hb builds, optimal range on scope and muzzle has its range just about the same as lex. maybe its just me but setup like that it seems like its firing a tighter group

It's only heroic true sons bounties that go in the wrong place, lower the world difficulty and try another public execution. Or find the snitch in the area.

Note that as long as you haven't spawned the snitch in the last 30m, he has a fairly large chance of showing up whenever you approach one of his possible locations: if he doesn't, you can just log off and on again and go back for another chance, so it's actually a pretty quick method of getting a bounty.

From what I understand, the 90th comm is the one titled "Bardon" and due to no new comms added this season, this week awards comms 7 earlier comms, possible comms 1-7? And if you already have those 7 comms, this week awards nothing as a result. I only returned to the game ~5 weeks ago after a 2yr break, so received those 7 comms for this week's project.

From the sounds of things, people who are at 89/90 missed one somewhere or a bug or something prevented one from dropping.

But 100% it looks like "Bardon" is the 90th comm, so if you have that one, you're missing an earlier one for whatever reason.

all alts keep gaining shd as you play if you dont delete

if you have 4 agents, think of it as a permanent 4x xp event . gains are just spread around

Make sure you go for nvme/m.2 type ssd. Ideally you want a couple so you can split your os and games, especially if streaming. Probably also good for video processing if you do that too. It may not be as much of an issue as the past with massive upgrades to read and write speeds , but itll eliminate any bottle necks due to data read/write

Are a lot of the Journey mission tasks glitched for anyone else? Some of mine will not complete no matter what I do. The one "Equip items with the same brand type" is stuck at 2/4 at rank 2, and no load outs or changes in gear count for me. The "Eliminate hostiles while using Fortified Shield" will not count any kills, despite it being equipped and activated.

Brand type make sure you're doing yellow brands, not green sets, those don't count for some reason. That one got me. If you are doing the yellow brands, not sure then, might just be glitched yeah

Hostage rescues might have them (clear control points in the area to increase the chances of them spawning), also check your bounties

You can get a bounty from the snitch every 30m or so too, which is random faction, just find a spawn point in the area and log off/on again until he spawns there

Recently when I ran Countdown I inspected some of the teammates builds in the matchmaking process and one had a six pice striker build. That kept me thinking if it's an advantage to use 6 green pieces instead of 2 other pieces. I'm gonna experiment on this in the shooting range. Countdown.
You can get a half-decent setup in 2-3 runs, about the same time it'd take you to get an Exotic Cache's worth of Countdown Credits.

(make sure you run it on Challenging, and pick the right TL (targeted loot)).

Hotshot is the popular choice, for a reason too.

Basically the way apparel events works is that you can earn keys normally once every 4 levels, but for apparel event caches, keys were always purchasable
