I would turn them off until you reach level 40 and then you can decide whether you want to enjoy that way of playing.

There's alot of stigma and mixed opinion on them at the moment because of the way they force players to adapt their usual playstyles. I personally like them beyond a certain modifier that the enemy has which shocks and sets you on fire if they are in short and long range.

You can have a look at some of the priority objective tasks though as they may end up granting you additional xp to get you to 40 that bit quicker, you aren't required to have modifiers on to progress through them.

I'm like lvl 4 in the DZ and around lvl 40 in game. In the DZ I mainly just play hit and run with the AI as I find they are a lot to handle solo. Especially the DZ drop sites. Is this the way the DZ is meant to be? I see much higher lvl people run around the DZ flattening AI and I'm wondering am I just low level? PvP I dont do too badly at its literally just against AI. I clear the first wave off a landmark and when the second wave which is all Elites show up I grab what I can and run. For added context I've mainly been playing in invaded DZs lately so maybe thats the issue.

DZ enemies are equivalent to Challenging in the open world IIRC, the main thing that can make them tricky is that they spawn all around you, so the main method of coping would be to pay close attention to your positioning, making sure you don't get flanked and are only dealing with one or two enemies at a time. Check the pinned messages in #td2-build-advice for pve and pvp build guides

depends on the blueprint, but if it's just regular gear items you're almost always better off farming the item directly (countdown is great for this), it's really not a crafting game

Personally though I don't find the vip objective as bad as a lot of people say. Some players run all the way across the map from containment to lab, just to avoid vip. Like yea cool, you save 30 sec on the objective, but run there for a solid minute. Doing whatever's closest (even if it's vip) ain't the worst thing in the world. Especially considering that a lot of the same people who want to avoid vip ("because it takes too long") are also really bad at actually focusing on objectives, like they'll just continually fire at immune wardogs, or refuse to capture shd caches.

Hello everyone, I'm still playing the game's campaign (currently around lvl 20) and I would like recommendations of some YouTube channels where I can learn a little more about the game, because I confess that I'm quite lost, I just go in and do the secondary and main missions to level up and I equip the items that fall on the ground and have better stats than the ones that are equipped, otherwise I don't know absolutely anything about what I should do.

@stuck pebble These are not as frequent as usual convoys - on map, it has a red circle (hover over it and it will be labelled as elite patrol). When I finally found 1, by the time I fast travelled, it was gone. Suggest u re-roll.

The tl;dr for Elite Patrols is that they exit from a Control Point and walk in an arc, before returning to the same point.
So a mix of luck and timing is needed.

I think most of the more experienced players in here tend to stick to heroic, there are a number of strong builds that can easily clear enemies once you get the hang of them.

Difficulty affects the minimum of the average of the stat rolls on a piece, challenging difficulty has a 40% minimum while heroic has 60%. Obviously any difficulty can potentially drop max rolled gear but it's more likely at the higher difficulties. Heroic has a couple of other benefits too, such as more xp, higher chance of exotics, certain blueprints from the CP caches

Yeah it's annoying that it's not better explained in-game.
If you want to try a Raid, make sure you have a decent build (there's some listed in the spreadsheet, over in #td2-build-advice > 📌 > spreadsheet 2), and you have a basic understanding of what's going on, and most importantly: listen to the Raid Leader.

The best place to find a team is in the GCrock or Community server, but #lfg-raid-console can be alright too.

I think you might be confusing missions, the key in tidal basin doesn't require shooting a box and doesn't lead to an echo, it unlocks a room at the back of the vehicle bay on the hovercraft, where you can get the first piece of nemesis

Yeah I learned the box doesn't do anything for the key. Also that the key doesn't show up on story mode. There is an comm in the nemesis room, not an echo. I always get the two confused.

Seasonal storyline stuff, when you reach level 40 you'll get a new 'manhunt' tab on the map menu, it's basically just a few minor tasks each week (rerun a specific mission, capture a specific control point, etc). We're 4 weeks into the tasks now but you can catch up any time before the end of the season.

yeah, that must have counted as a boost then even if it didn't raise your level, so it will have auto-completed that first invasion, any DC side missions & projects you hadn't already done, and filled those first 3 specialisations.
TBF the mechanics of the situation are a bit weird now they removed world tiers and merged the endgames, so stuff that was designed for the old system like boosting doesn't fit quite so well into the new one

It's the momento backpack. Great for alot of builds. Every time you get a kill it'll drop a trophy. Pick them up and you get both a short and longer term buff. The bag comes with weapon damage, armour core and skill tier to boot making it a great slot filler.

you can upgrade the damage of weapons or armor value on armor once you hit 10 proficiency on that specific brand or weapon (or named item or exotic)
once you start upgrading you can only upgrade to whatever your proficiency level is, this is the number on the left of the screen in the proficiency table with xxx/200 under it.
you raise that proficiency number by gaining proficiency levels with different brands/weapons/skills

if you go into your tinker table from one menu back, you should be able to see what level you're able to upgrade it to. to increase that level you gain proficiency levels with ANYTHING and it'll eventually go up.

Honestly: don't worry about reconfiguring any piece yet. Just work on getting better stuff from the get-go.
That entire system is designed to help you cap off the last few % of an item, not to fix a bad one.

A few missions would not get you to 35. Sounds like you boosted to NY started there and then joined someone in DC. When you boost to NY it makes you level 30 and completes the DC map automatically.

well no, and priority objectives don't have targeted loot so you can't "weigh" that chance towards kneepads

if you want a better chance at them you just farm countdown
