I've just returned to play TD2 after a long break (left the game when summit got out) and I tried playing Countdown but I'm not really sure how should I play it. Can some give me some advice to play it efficiently? I play only via matching (I'm on PS4 and don't have a clan)

I'm not finding that to be so simple...

I tried following the group but we waste so much time trying to do every object in 8 people, and I don't really know, neither I can easily see on the map, where are the green buffs that pop up on screen. We're usually in 2 or maybe 3 people to do the mechanics, and the others just run around doing nothing (?).
And the extraction is also incredibly difficult, we get swarmed by enemies everywhere, like 20/25 elites and the only time I was able to extract I had to call the extraction and left the whole team on the ground with 2 seconds on the timer. Am I missing something?

Btw I play on very hard, but I remember that was the difficulty I usually played so I don't know if it has become harder or something (I don't find it to be that hard)

Alright first kill the hunters and deactivate the debuffs. Choose an objective close to you (but never do vip, it takes the longest) and do that. When you get there play the objective and kill enemies. Repeat. Once you get to the main objective, this is where really everyone has to play the objective as well as kill. Whether you fail that or succeed, you have to extract. There will be hunters so focus on those guys the most. Typically a good team can wait out the timer to collect even more loot. If you’re struggling, extract earlier

you dont just add the numbers up, thats not how probability works. every 1300 kills you dont have a 100% chance you get an exotic, 1300 kills would give you a 60% chance at one.

shooting range, single elite target, banshee + emp sticky for 2 separate non-damaging statuses. either one applies 150K dps vile, as do both at once.

neither does a second one refresh the duration of initial vile proc, but that is to be expected.

Printer filas are easy to farm if you just break down excessive gear mods / skill mods; I usually farm blue components based on what I need and what targeted loot is available

I'm always hurting for them because I'm always making SHD calibrations out of them

i.e. maximum number that can be stored in a four-byte variable.

Fast hands is a big boost. And if you have a DPS build, the weapon talent is a minor dps boost compared to the rest of the build. You can freely swap to fast hands/ utility weapon talent in that case.

Hmm, so it looks like I was a bit wrong. The negev CAN deal the second best sustained damage per mag for lmgs, which is 28 million. I was thinking it was gonna be much lower due to the reload. I also want to remember that it takes 10 second to empty, and I’m not sure on reload time, I didn’t look at that stat. So yeah then, maybe you can scratch off fast hands

How I did it is that I filled up my talent/attribute libraries first. Then while doing that just looking for better gear. The proficiency and expertise will come along. Directives help with extra XP and slight increase in the targeted loot drops. So, yeah they can.

How do you stay motivated with the game? I'm having a hard time sticking with the game because of lack of stuff to do, I'm watch level 543 and I want to reach 1k. I just want to know how to keep playing the game until then

I hear you. I played this game is two parts, first I went from base game to shd 300. Then I took a year off and I'm 1080 rn. There's a lot to do, you have to repeat the same content again and again unfortunately but there are many things to unlock, collect or just try.

I play the summit a lot cause I like it. Then do the weekly and daily projects, which typically require rerunning some missions and also do some op3n world content. Also I usually do the weekly invaded missions cause they're fun.

Once you burn thru all the story content, both main and side quests, both in the base game and wony, the most typical incentive is the loot. There are many builds to work on, they're many and they're quite different so the game feels fresh when you start trying all this many builds. the summit has a lot of replayability, it can be a huge time sink

From what I've seen on YouTube videos (not tried myself because I'm not a masochist), they've just got a gajillion HP and a deflector shield that sends your bullets back at you unless you shoot at the three small red slits in the middle. So you need to draw some aggro and then have others shoot them in the ass. One boss at a time. Some people use turrets for this. Expect to do a lot of running around and repositioning.

Countdown is good for loot but not great xp, also farming any one place endlessly will skew your development of game skills and maybe cause burnout

Personally I recommend mixing it up a fair bit once you've got your first half decent build to work with

Although tbf countdown is not half as bad as floor 10 farming in that sense

Hey, for a weapon you have 4 attributes: 2 core attributes, the minor attribute (3rd row) and 1 talent. Since you can only change (recalibrate) one attribute, ideally you want to get 3 attributes that perfectly match whatever you're looking for. You can also optimize an attribute, where you don't change it but you can at least increase it (e.g., get your SMG damage from 14.8 to 15), the caviat is that optimization is quite expensive so it's not attractive unless your roll is very good.

something else worth noting is that in a typical DPS build you'll want to maximize weapon damage, critical hit chance (60), critical hit damage (+150). CHC is capped at 60 at the optimal way to get it up is using the weapon accessories, so having CHD damage as a rolled attribute is usually preferable over CHC, which is what you have in that picture.

@silent cradle so that's a good roll but for an optimal roll you'd want something with 3 out of these 4: full SMG damage + full CHD + damage to out of cover + your favorite talent.

btw you don't need the optimal build, it's just a guide to use until you start developing your own theorycrafting skills

Heroic Countdown though...they really need to tweak the HP on hunters or give an extra 30-60 seconds to extract. It's frustrating not having time to grab all the gear at the end of encounters.

Just had a rather strange thing happen. Was in Heroic Countdown and armed with a foam launcher. I launched the foam at the hunter three times in a row, but it didn't take even once. And he was right in the middle of the launcher's large circle on a full skill build. What happened there? I'm wondering if it's a connectivity issue, but it worked fine on the final battle hunters.
