i want to liek the chamelion because i love how it shoots... but it takes alot to build and keep it stacked enough to really be better than other ARs. consider any of the 3 stacks individually, and compare to jsut running obliterate on a chest for example...in real gameplay use-case

Specialization Overhaul when? That's the only thing I'm waiting for to come back to Div2. They teased it in an intelligence annex and then never spoke about it again. It isn't even on their roadmap... any clues as to whether or not they're still going to do it?

to reach wt5 you just gotta do the few missions and then the stronghold tied to those missions, it will automatically progress you as you complete the strongholds.

after a certain point you will be able to take part in the weekly "invaded missions/strongholds" that happen through-out DC. but only a select few missions and strongholds are invaded per week.

Hi folks. Couple of questions regarding the Countdown mode. I'm coming back to the game after a break of a year.

  • Is there a decent YouTube video explaining how the mode works and the main objectives, etc.

  • How do I select my preferred loot drops for Countdown? It seems to be picking up what I last chose in Summit

  • During the 3-4 matchmade Countdown missions I did, all of them had members saying "Skip VIP" in the chat. Why does that objective suck that people want to skip it?

yay shotguns. on a CQC build i still end up carrying an SMG just because in a pinch you can still land aimed shots at 25 meters.. but up close.. i really like shottys. i would really like a center pip on the site though.

I don't know, did not need any video to play it 🙂
To select loot, easiest is in white house. Select Countdown in map mode, then press for long time H. (PC version). Then you can choose whatever you want.

VIP sucks, cause it is least predictable in terms of time consumption. I saw experienced players doing it like regular encounter (up to 3 mins max), but these were huge minority (less then 5% games with VIP I dare to say). Usually (like 75% games with VIP) it can take up to 6-7 minutes. Within such time, you can easily make any other two encounters, which is enough to proceed with main goal.

yep. if the team is going to VIP, may as well go with, but if you find yourself in a buncha peopel standing around confused, head toward [not the VIP] to keep things moving

And last advice to countdown, for all those thinking why you completed it all, yet have insignificant amount of "countdown recognition" coins.

You can get maximum 64 coins out of it (2 such games for named item box, 4 such games for exotic box in the store).
32 of it you can get from the game, another 32 is granted as bonus, if you succesfully board the heli. Basically, boarding bonus is doubling the coins you earned in single game.

Now is the tricky part. Majority of people don't know how to run opening moves. while fighting hunters.
90% of players goes to the nearest hunter. This is wrong.
Always you should go first to meet your opposite sub-group in countdown. Then you can together chase the hunters and also unlock the containers, getting bonus to gameplay, instead of keeping the penalty.
This takes a bit more time (yet still can be completed within first 2 minutes of game), but gives you the most of the countdown coins.

To show you the difference.

Each hunter is worthy 3 coins (if you pickup his hunter key). This in total can give you up to 24 coins, only from hunters.
Each encounter is worthy only 1 coin. This clearly shows, it is more important to get to hunter on time (before other sub-group kills it), than doing quickly any of given encounters.
The main mission is worthy 5 coins - so it definitely should be finished on time (and here comes a VIP with its huge time consumption, as danger to this goal).

As people in majority do not get this math, in most of games it is a success if you can pickup up to 7 hunter keys. If you do that, 2 encounters and main mission, and board the heli - still you can get 56 points - which is pretty decent, comparing to 64 of maximum possible from one game.

If I play with my friend, safe option is that we both ignore VIP and we go to other encounter. In most cases, we 2 are quicker with encounter, than the rest of group with VIP 🙂 There are of course exceptions, but very few of them.
In case I am playing alone with randoms, then yes - in such case, it is better to follow the crowd.

Regarding main mission, I think the lack of communication and randomness of players in the match is bigger issue.
Many missions requires to pull some switches on opposite sides of map. While the whole group is chasing around altogether, lot of time is simply wasted to trigger next stage of main mission. Not much you can do alone with that.

when i see a couple guys with same clan tag head off to a smaller side mission and main group is going VIP.... i go VIP, assuming it is the situation you describe.

when i see people skipping hunters and counter measures, it is the first sign its going to be a tough run to complete.

also.. forming up and 8 manning hunters is WAY faster than splitting up, and also encourages everyone heading into same side mission.

you've not quite got the idea f10 farming, it sounds like - the method used is to kill ALL enemies, get the new checkpoint & floor completion xp, then die (while still in the main room) and it restarts the whole floor and allows you to repeat it - I don't think you get the boss loot after the first time, but you are able to keep getting the floor completion rewards. I'm also on the side of 'this is not intended behaviour and therefore counts as an exploit'.

Yes. Each hunter dogtag gives you 3 "countdown recognition" coins at the end of match. This amount is doubled if you boarded heli on time.
As each encounter gives you only 1 "countdown recognition" coin, it is simple conclusion, that getting all hunter's keys is more important than doing all 3 encounters before main mission.
"Countdown recognition" coins can be spend in the shop in White House.

dont have the exact figures but from my experience, proficiency caches are somewhat-permanent (24h+)
for items that drop on the ground, it would be safe to pick up loot every 10 floors. might go missing after 15 pieces on the ground. the old pieces get replaced by new pieces of loot. i am pretty sure it is not time-based

source: held a floor for over 24 hours and my caches were still there. also have tested leaving about 30 caches on the floor

just play. at first its swapping weapons and armor as you find it, which is good, so you get a feel for diff gun types.
after a bit you can play skills. reviver hive, assault turret, crusader shield are all good to start imo.
do side missions as well as story mission and explore.

And why should it be not forgotten? That's my opinion as PVE player only.

What reward comes from playing this crappy mode? (note: my personal opinion on DZ, so I have right to say it :)).

Either Div1 or Div2 - visit in DZ ended 90% of cases the same way - beeing ganked by people having way better builds, way better communicated and in numerical advance. Long story short - I could not explore these areas the way I like to explore. I don't mind the challenge, but I like it on the terms I consider as "fair for all involved parties". DZ simply is not such place in my opinion.

Devs were trying to "convince" players to play DZ by putting there some unique stuff, but honestly - with events and currently Countdown, you can acquire majority of that stuff anyway (various kinds of boxes to purchase in stores), simply by playing content you like, the way you like.

It tends to snap to torso then you have to adjust aim upwards left/right towards head and how much aim adjustment depends on distance and speed target is moving in order to hit the headshot before the less than a second magnetism effect wears off

HB stacks still give you amplified damage same as striker, the nerf was just to make them add together instead of multiply (pre-nerf, HB at 100 stacks gave you 170% amplified damage)

for solo heroic i tend to run negotiators with backpack, 2 blue cores, spotter/technician/flatline police M4 crit build.

should redact the names b4 posting this but... ya i dunno. i guess it is a tactical shooter, not CoD or halo, and even running around in bulwark smart play and knowing missions helps. Div2 isnt 100% twitch reflex. DPS that just hides even skill builds that hide and dont shoot to trigger synergies (like capacitor or w/e) will fall behind

one of the things to do is to see what kind of builds you want to go for, and start putting atleast one decent one together, here is a recommended builds list that will give a overview of good starter builds,

oddly enough I crashed less often on Win7, then moved to Win10 and crashed a little more often (not by alot), S9 update happened and crashes increased slightly, and after this recent patch, so far no crashes. so who knows.

most I can tell is that every time the game crashes for me it must send a crash report cause my bandwidth usage spikes like a rocket for a minute or so. but CPU usage and GPU usage always seemed fine, just randomly freezes.

I'm interested on this too, I wonder if somebody could give their thoughts and have them pinned. I'm not prioritizing skills, they're "only a few" and even the least useful ones can be trained by having them slotted. I was thinking exotic pieces > DZ exclusives > named pieces > weapons and pieces that don't fit my game style. Brand and gear sets seem easier to farm or rank up organically. Same for Skills. Same for many weapons.

Re: expertise donating prio. IMHO focus the donating for the hard to get items 1st. But TBH, the entire expertise system is very weak buffs and poorly designed that it doesnt matter.

the Warlords of New York DLC has created a completely new endgame, so step one is to buy DLC, then hop on the chopper to new york. You will be stuck in NY until you complete that story at level 40 and get your SHD watch.

then you can begin farming lvl 40 gear (gearscore is depreciated) for builds and do the season events etc.

i always went with the route of marking stuff as junk, then checking recal library if anything could get donated there, then the expertise donate, then dismantling anything left over after that.

but after awhile ur recal gets done and u just straight up donate practically everything. weapons are usually the fastest/first to get proficient since it only take 20 donations of that items where as the other things are slow since needing 100 donations (not speaking in terms of mats tho, just dupe donations)

imo Negotiators Dilema (ND or Nego) is an easy one to build and works well. So is Hunters Fury (HF) if you are into close quarters.

High end builds are harder to put together, but can be really strong.

im not a tech / skill type so... no recommends for yellow builds.

roll quality is higher on hgiher difficulty.
directives add XP, and at least in summit, a small icreased chance of targeted loot drop

also challenging + is where you always get high end quality (gold) drops. no more purples (aside from static open world crates, those dont scale)

i foudn getting off hard and into challenging was difficult, but once i got into challenging and was getting all high end drops, i was able to make a 'real' build faster, and make the progression for challenging to heroic much quicker.

The skills you don't like, you make them proficient by donating materials (printer filament)
If you don't make them proficient your Expertise level wont be maxed.
Meaning: your favourite Skills/Weapons/Gear can't be upgraded till the (current) max level.

But like the other person said, it's on your desired level.
If you only want to upgrade to level 10 you don't need to be proficient with half of the items

all the guides i've seen said about white oak, and i got first of mine there, as well like 3 after those. but subsequent drops abide by different rules, so that's not really a datapoint.

the final boss of camp white oak has a specific drop chance for the btsu of 7% on heroic, but depending on farm speed you will likely be better off with TL gloves, especially with btsu as its the only exotic in that slot the average farm time should be allot better

a 7% drop chance may seem decent, but considering you have to complete the entirety of Camp White Oak to roll that dice for the 7% chance, it's a lot worse.
Think of it this way; you have a 93% chance each run to not get the Exotic.

  1. each Directive added in slightly increases your chance for an enemy to drop the additional TL drop.

I anwered to a "agent in need" call and there was 3 guys on legendary difficulty mission. i got "endorsement" mid mission, What is that? the endorsement?

every time you respond to a call for backup, if you stay around till you fill a certain amount of xp (think it was around a shd levels worth, 700k, but may be misremembering) you will get an automatic endorsement and the player you respond to can give a second endorsement (they will get a pop up or they can do it after from the social screen)
, you can only get one endorement per join,
and after the first 15 you will get your wings, you may have seen others with wings next to their shd lvl, that is from that

after that every 7 will net you another wings lvl up to 99, and the commendation at 1 and 25

also from the point you get your wings, you will also be able to see call for backup from people not at endgame, so you can help newbies or ppl lvling alts

thanks. im only shd level 38 so i have no idea of wings and such. love the game tough. like really love this!

what do you guys think is the fastest way to level shade watch? is there anything that stands out or is it gonna be "just do everything on the map and repeat" kinda thing?
