The system is based around a special Watch you obtain during the DLC.

You'll always be a max of Lvl 40, but you can obtain minor bonuses once you get that Watch.

Nowadays, you can alternatively pay $70 for the full smash when you don't know what you're gonna get off the bat, months before its official release.

I saw MW II's "vault" edition on Steam and I thought, "jesus, 70 quid? it better have the original MW2 in this damn bundle."

Also, they can get away with it because it's just plain and simple. They can defer the blame to the consumers who committed to their product by buying it for $70. Unless there's a massive fckup, like what happened to Cyberpunk 😂 (Lovely business model, by the way)

Outriders actually scammed players on the preorder bonuses by tying them to the game's preorder and then separating it into a normal DLC when the game launched, deducting the DLC's value from the preorder price to create the base game

Basically preorder = 270, after launch base = 260 and preorder skin dlc = 10

I called it out and got responses varying from "don't buy it then" to "they never said a preorder bonus is exclusive to the preorder" and "why do you care so much"

Honestly, preorders nowadays are such a bad joke

Funny (not) that a video titled "Dark Age of YouTube" caused one of the most absurd events of the platform

The tl;dr is that Act Man got striked by community guidelines under "nudity/sexual content" for photoshopping a cucumber over the mouth of a youtuber who abuses copyright claims and basically no one likes (and it was manually reviewed by one of the staff and confirmed as "yes, it violates the guidelines")

Then some of his videos got age-restricted for the same kind of "explicit" content and eventually his channel itself got demonetized

I didn't watch his videos much because he didn't really cater to me as a creator, but I never saw any take from the Act Man that warranted this kind of backlash from the platform's staff

So for this thing to have happened, it's... well, it's quite jarring

It reminds me of Discord's responses when I'd report some bad faith shit

One day I was stressing their system a bit and put on a profile picture just barely short of showing nipples

I then reported myself on another account

Their response was "block the user" until I pestered them like 3 or 4 times, to which they then removed my picture and I told them I just falsified a report to see how shitty their system was

And that they passed with flying colours, all of them different shades of brown

And then these things also can even extend to Steam's support, where reporting users is just met with automated replies and nobody actually checks that unless you know which buttons to push on the convoluted support page to actually talk to a human being by pretending to have a different issue that requires the aid of a human

So, but so many big companies just having zero accountability for anything that not only happens on their platform, but they themselves let happen after reports, really gets under my skin

The damage scaling thing when enemies are more than a couple of levels higher than you is just insane (and doesn't work the other way around) - does anyone know if Valhalla has the same thing?

You can set the global difficulty in Valhalla iirc. You can set your enemies to be like 20 or 30 levels above you. The same also goes if you want it easier on yourself: you can make the enemies have the same levels as you or constantly have it at level 50 regardless of your progression.

But in Odyssey, enemies can only be 2 or 3 levels higher than you, and they're immediately dealing god tier damage.

yeah, I was specifically referring to the Origins/Odyssey thing of enemies a few levels above you (I think 4 was about the cut-off point) suddenly taking much much less damage and doing much much more - I assume that isn't the case in Valhalla then, if you can set enemies to be much higher level than you

Anyway, I'm planning to wait until some kind of 'complete' edition comes out with all dlcs on a deep discount, which is likely to be a couple more years yet. Just curious because it seemed like such a clumsy mechanic.

Yeah, Valhalla likes it's +10 differentials so it's a massive power spike you'll deal with if you don't "stay in your own lane" per se.

What I did was get Neptunes Trident and leveled up some before trying too do anything crazy.

If I remember level 15 then I did that first Conquest mission.

I did unlock the whole map first too. Then all the sync spots. That really helped level you and makes for getting around much easier too.

The man actually swerved to ram me out of the road

There's been quite a lot of flak about how hotel prices and hospitality in general have been ruining holiday budgets because it's become really expensive to get lodgings and stuff. I'm sure it's gone mainstream at this point to where tourists who wanna visit Ireland should know beforehand.
