not sure I understand the question. Max gear score you can get is 515 (only in World Tier 5 though) - to get there, you have to raise your gear score a bit at a time to meet the prerequisite

Ok, so I am 284, and in the past few days, I have levelled up a little, but still the maximum level of the gear that is dropping in the last 5 hours of game play is 291. Trying to work out what I need to do to get better gear. We recently finished roosevelt island, and our world tier went up

also, I think the pinned guide is a little outdated now in that the order in which you do the invaded missions doesn't matter so much

Just keep an eye out in the lfg channel for someone saying LF(x) (looking for x number of players) RV(x) (raid voice channel x) DH (dark hours)/IH (iron horse). When you see a group with open spots just jump in and ask who you need to add, then add them on uplay. Make sure your name in the discord channel matches uplay. Let people know your new so they can explain what you need to do and what your role is for each boss. Most people have no issues walking people through for the first time as long as your upfront about it. Ideally you'd have a dps build ready to go with +50 chc and +150 chd

You can get more of them. But Exotic meant to be hardcore rewards. So you will have to play at Heroic difficulty for better chances.
I suggest you join in Heroic group so they can farm it for ya. Just "Answer the calling" and you have chance to join in a Heroic group.

You really, really don't want to go into a raid expecting to tank on your first run. There are only certain roles for them, and especially if it's all you have you'll be completely useless on 6 out of the 8 bosses (between both raids)

I don't think so. You can equip two of the same weapon and it'll boost the xp you gain. But having proficient gear won't increase the rate of other items not associated with them.

If you plan well you can get it done quite a lot faster with a team, they can fast travel to the safehouses and missions allowing you to skip a lot of walking, and they can run the main missions for you and wait just before the end for you to join them

Also, you will level faster when you've got level 40s in the group and you don't have to worry about upgrading your lower level gear until you reach 39 as it gets level scaled automatically for you

You can do it in just over an hour with a group and a basic level 30/31 build. Create a level 30 (new character, run to WH, use boost), and recraft a regulus and memento to 30, and craft a chest with HH. Rest of the build doesn't matter much, but you can craft level 31 gear and recal 170k armor onto it, which will help out later or when solo.

For the run you want a level 40 in your group. They run the side missions while you run main missions. When they are at the end of a side mission you can fast travel to them, complete it, then fast travel back to your main mission at your last checkpoint.

You can get runs done from character creation to keener dead in just over an hour like that.

If you have multiple 40s boosting you, you can create multiple sessions. You have one join you, then you leave. Then the next joins, etc. They can make progress and you can just keep jumping between them. The advantage of this is they don't have to deal with the increased player scaling and can go super quick through missions. Technically this is the fastest, but not the most "man hours" efficient

you need to be in the mission and if 1 lvl 40 can solo them it doesnt matter how many lower levels are in the group, but the lvl 30 do need to have wony to do those missions also

best to stay close to them and hang back, no need to stay at the start of the mission

Yeah exactly. It would work with 2 30s, but just keep in mind you can only fast travel to the main missions and you both need to be at the end of whatever your completing to get credit. It's also going to be much slower without a 40 in your group because the on kill exp scaling makes a huge difference. With a 40 in your group you'll be 40 well before the keener mission starts, if you don't you'll need to do some grinding at the end

have each of them go thru one of the missions solo all at the same time. should be pretty easy considering its story mode.
whoever is already at the boss, you the boostee, fast travels to them and finishes the mission. while you're waiting for them to arrive at the boss of that mission, just do another mission or side mission

The whole method is to half the time by splitting up. If you have a level 30/31 build you can run it all the way to 40 and be useful instead of just being carried the whole time.

Also make use of the "call for backup". Most of my runs to get 20 exp were done "solo" but I'd just call for backup and most of the time I just got some noob who was basically useless. But the scaling made it worth it. You can do that with you and a friend, you two split up, noob does whatever just to scale you guys up

I've tried the call for backup thing a few times but I've found I mostly ended up getting other (much much newer) Division 2 players who oddly answered that call (while getting through NY, so not even at L40 yet). I always carry them anyway because it's the right thing to do!

yes it needs to be held for the skill tier to apply, what most people use it for is in red builds is the ability to swap to the weapon, giving you 2 charges on a revive hive, you toss it out with those 2 charges, you can swap to a different weapon after the toss, and then the hive will res someone and still have one charge left so you can pick it back up, it is one of those things you an recognise experienced player with
