Expertise is a marathon not a sprint. Those who have like 30K SHD points have the luxary of using printer filaments to level up their expertise. Countdown is a great mode for getting loot to donate for Proficiency.

Nothing is guaranteed in matchmaking. You can always form your own group to specifically take your time at missions or just solo it out.

When I matchmake for heroic missions, I'm doing it for XP and loot, but I would pace myself based on how fast or slow everyone is taking it. If 2-3 other guys are facetanking and rushing thru missions, I know I won't have time to loot in that case

Merciless can just be farmed from anywhere (use Rifle target loot for best chances), but Ruthless is only available if you have the Ultimate Edition of the game or bought the Deluxe Pack from the store.

the guns are identical apart from t he name though, so if you're wanting to just level up proficiency for Ruthless, just donate materials to do it.

If you want to understand what's going on, yes.
If lore is something you don't care about and want to skip over, then boost.

Truthfully speaking, the game isn't hard to understand gameplay wise. And there's plenty of guides out there if you're having trouble with something.
Whatever gameplay elements you don't figure out within the first couple of hours, you can probably google instead. There's also an option to enable/disable gameplay tips.

Well then as I said, you can boost to endgame if the narrative isn't your thing. Or you can go through DC slapping faction cheeks until you feel you're ready to tackle the DLC. Up to you do one or the other.

If you do boost, then the only story you'll be mandated to follow is the Warlords one. You can't go back to DC once you've started. The only way back is to complete it first.

Legendary has their AI slightly tweaked. On top of dealing more damage and having increased health, they spam explosives a lot more often too. And heavies actually become a problem if you're not paying attention.

Massive Entertainment is the studio developing the game. And the Division 2 team has been significantly reduced due to other ongoing projects. Like Avatar, Star Wars, and the Division Heartlands game(s) they're working on.

Also, this game was already supposed to run its final course after the release of the Warlords DLC. The fact that it's still getting support is beyond miraculous for a game who's life cycle should have ended, but hasn't... yet.

I personally wouldn't have minded if they just released one final optimization update to improve game performance overall. And then just moved onto the next big title in the Division franchise.

The publisher publishes the game, they basically hold the rights to the game and are the only ones able to sell and distribute it. But that's as far as support from Ubisoft goes.
Other than the money they're owed for sale, they don't get much else out of it.

You can see why Ubisoft would be hesitant to put it up on a platform take that large of chunk. Especially one that is technically a competitor.

This is exactly the point I'm making, Sniper. You think all the new shit the games get developed with is cheap? There's a lot of shit that money goes towards and very few of it goes to devs.
Let's say that the final cut of a newly released triple a title is selling for the bog standard of $60 is $24. And cost to make said game was around $120 million. How many copies do you think you need to sell before just breaking even and not even making a profit yet?
One million copies? Two million copies? Three million? More like five million copies. Five million copies just to break even. A lot of companies in this day and age are going to struggle to sell that many copies in market as diverse as this.
And I'll be fair here, the budget for most of these game is not nearly as high as 120 million. But the point still stands. The more advanced the industry becomes, the more costly it's going to get.
